I would love this exact version in a 34l. At 5’6, this just looked silly on me but I want an all slick / no hook and loop version of this bag. Fingers crossed they continue to make other versions! Great review Danny.
Thank you for watching and I agree a similarly styled version in 34 and 26 would be cool (it’s encouraging to see the heritage gr2s maybe there’s a chance it will happen)
I used my 40L gr2 to go to Kentucky last year and found the pack out to be really tight. (I have the 26lL Gr2 which I love!!! when I got home I took everything I had in the 40L and was able to take it fit it comfortable inside the 30L Nomatic travel bag. The 40L is also big (I’m 5’2)
Thank you JB!! Appreciate the support and I’ve been hooked on all your recent goruck videos recently so I was excited to have a chance to do some goruck content too! Haha
If you could only buy one bag between this bag, the Techonaut 45 and or any other made in the USA bag of similar size for domestic carry on size, what would you ultimately choose? I have the 26L GR2 and the Synik 30 and really like them both for different reasons. I thought about the Civic Travel Bag 35L but wasn’t sure if it was ultimately large enough.
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! For me I prefer the aesthetic and organizational layout of the gr2, but I do find the techonaut harness a bit more comfortable (so if I had to pick one I would probably lean towards the goruck but would really be happy with both). I really like the CTB as well but it can’t hold quite as much as the other two (I believe it’s manufactured abroad as well, the quality is excellent but just wanted to clarify if made in the us is something you are looking for)
Thank you for watching! The bag might feel a little big and it’s not something I would use for edc but for travel I think it could work? The 34l might be a good in between if you are worried about the height
Thank you for watching and good question! Due to the width of the straps for my preference the gr2 Carrie’s a little more comfortably under heavy weight, with that being said the back of the bellroy and CTB is much more breathable so I guess it depends on how important breathability vs shoulder comfort is (bellroy and evergoods straps are not bad, just not as robust) the GR2 also feels like it can hold a bit more than both of those as well
In many ways this backpack seems very similar to the Peak Design travel backpack. Two main clamshell compartments with large but simple interior pockets. And a clean dangle-free exterior. The clamshell secondary compartment is one of the things I love most about the Peak Design. I can easily drop in and remove a 20 l packable day pack filled with personal items in the outer compartment - perfect for when I'm getting on/off a plane or a bus or whenever I simply and quickly want to lighten the load on my back or stowe everything back into a single bag .

Sooo... where we taking this thing?
All over! Chicago and Brazil are on deck, but I’m sure there will be more trips coming soon!! :)
@@dannypacks yeah - I'm jealous
@@Huckberryco I just got mine today. I’m currently breaking it in while walking my dog.

@@dannypacks haha, thanks for watching! The GORUCK ones are really fun and I like your take on the GR2. The Huckberry version looks very nice SLICK!

Would this ruck be way too big for a 5’6 guy? I’ve got a GR2 26l but am wanting a longer one bag option but am concerned on the height of this bag.

How does the gr2 40 carry and size difference feel compared to the bellroy transit backpack plus 38L and with the ctb35?

@@dannypacks thanks for the insight

Thank you for watching and I agree having two clamshell compartments is a huge benefit of both of these bags, super useful!:)
