  • This week we get to grips with the first fix plumbing. We plumb in the water tank and pump, then we put in the hot water tank and lots of pipes!
We also start to put together the shower space by building a wall and then tile board it.
As always thanks for your support and comments. Open to any advice or suggestions and we are essentially narrowboat novices!
    Thanks J&J.

Hi guys , back again. In my 63yrs I've learned that to compromise is a wonderful trait. I'm sure you will change things many times until your comfortable with everything. Looks to be a fine job done on your water system. Good content & editing, hope to see you again next week. Health and Happiness Jess & Jonny !

Hi I tell everybody that's fitting out a narrowboat fit two water pumps one for hot and one for cold then fit a bridge pipe with a valve in between the two this means if one pump fails you turn the valve to open and it runs on one pump until you can change the broken one

Looking great. Needs possibly 3 or 4 times (IMO) as many holes in the bed boards and unknown how much the boards are supported but it does need a lot of support as the boards will bow over the course of a few months/a year. Also make sure to make the boards moisture proof as they will warp fairly quickly if not sealed. Cant wait to see the super shower. Keep up the great work.

It's better I think to have a temperature mixer tap at the bath or shower pour off point.
The engine is going to super heat the water too hot to touch.
I am not a fan of simply dumping all the pipe work on the floor of boats as every one does.
I prefer to use space immediately under gunwhale to transport pipework through the boat.
Interesting that all fit the immersion tank near the stern of the boats.to have a long run into the boat might work help reduce heat pressures build up.
You need to fit directional flow valves in line to stop heat pressure build up against cold tank flow from getting into the hot water tank. Running the engine for 30 mins would heat up the tank therefore I think having heat sink radiators to dissipate heat might be a good idea and be able to shut off tank supply from engine heat after it's done its job.
These are just some thoughts I have on what I would do.
