  • If anyone doesn't know how the controls operate on an "Aerolite 103".....they are cables.

Phil, just wanted to let you know I shared your video on a Facebook forum where another guy was asking about control cables. Your video will be helping many people. Thanks again!

Phil, it's been a long slow road for my scratch build Affordaplane project. But, I'm finally at the point of fabricating the controls and have watched this video you made for me over and over again! I will reach out to Denis Carley to purchase the cables. Thanks again!

sky knight productions/ I am gonna try my best. ;)
I'm going thru many, MANY "learning curves" at the moment (lol). One being 'editing' these things. But yes, I planned on that. Stay tuned!

Thank you for the video I'd like to try that on another aircraft. Beautiful idea and will actually liminate a lot of the problems I'm running into. What is the length of the throw on the push pull rods? And what is the strength Push Pull on each cable? And how did you figure out the amount of strength that would be required for your aircraft?

Geno, thanks for your interest. You should contact Dennis Carley (Aerolite 103 manufacturer) if you want to know the detailed answers to your questions. He puts the airplanes together at his Florida facility and ships them out to customers around the nation. So, that said I don't know that stuff due to not starting the airplane construction from the ground - up.
Thanks for the comment and watching my video's.

How much travel do the cables have?

They're not cables. They are 'push-pull' rods and "none" is the answer. That's their advantage over cables. Thanks for watching and your comment.

@@aerolite103buildersvlog8 LOL if they had no travel the control surfaces would not move.

The laugh is on me, then. I'm new at this building airplane stuff and declared that in the beginning of my video series. That said as I understood (or misunderstood) 'travel' it's the slop/slack in the control movement when using them. My bad. Thank you for the correction and edification.
