WONDERMENT!...if Nicki pinches herself, each time she returns to her new home in Tuscany and enters the front door with her key, because for as long as I can remember, Nicki has talked about having her home and now she does. What an achievement, what a blessing. Carlo could have a contractor business too for all his excellent! DIY skills. To think of the economic benefits of saving on expense hiring someone else to all that Carlo has done so far on the home in Positano and now the home in Tuscany. He is just brilliant!
Right? I’m very happy, single in my own home. But having a Carlo, or being as handy, would save me a fortune. 😊

Love the video. Can't argue on size of tv. You can NEVER have big enough. My one neighbor asks wat are we watching at the drive in tonight when he passed at night and I didn't have the curtains drawn.
He, his wife and 2 children are my favorites. They set up lawn chairs one evening in empty land across from my house. I almost p'd myself when I went to get a cup of tea & saw it.

Both of you are incredibly industrious and creative people. It is a pleasure to watch you feathering your nest. You have already made incredibly good changes to your home in Tuscany and your home in Positano is also a wonderful place. I hope you have many many many years to enjoy the fruits of your labor. I am now 81 years of age and returned from my former home in Tuscany in mid May. It is unlikely I will go back, but I did own a place there for approximately 15 years and spent many happy months over those years.
I'm so glad your dad is getting to come visit! The house looks amazing. Enjoy your visit. ❤

I tell you what. Having Carlo as your fix it man is worth his weight in gold. I can not tell you how amazing he is. Carport? Oh, that just takes 2 day. Come on. Most normal men can not accomplish that. Build a roof rack for $15 and install it himself is like mind blowing. He is really in his element with this new homestead. All those years working at the cemetery was great practice for the real world. All the projects he wants to do in the future must keep him up at nights. His mind is always on.

Having been married for 40 years, I believed my husband when he said DIY can't be rushed. I see seasons come and go and we are still no further forward, then I watch you two and you get so much done so quickly. Admittedly we travel alot but even so, I need to have a word with my husband and also up my own game! (I smiled when you mentioned sewing. When I left the UK 15 years ago, I bought a sewing machine....its still in the box and I have no idea how to use it!!)
EVERY time you scan across Tuscany showing the view I say out loud "oh wow!" I so envy your home, how beautiful you are making it and how wonderful it must be to live in it. I too, am in awe of Carlo's many DIY talents. Hope your Dad has a marvellous holiday! xxx

Who doesn't love jams. It is such a seasonal thing for me. I force myself to only have one jar at a time. Right now I'm on a peach jam. But, soon I will be back to my all time favorite of Blackberry jam. I am still looking for the best I've ever had Strawberry and Blackberry together. So good. Your dad is amazing at keeping himself busy doing such thing and sharing with everyone. What a sweetheart!

I'm glad your dad is getting a chance to enjoy the Italian sun at last, especially as the days begin to get shorter here in the UK and the weather turns colder!
Delightful!!! I KNOW how excited you are because I was the same when my mother would come visit. After she passed, my father did not schedule his arrival but simply showed up. Always happy to see him but planning was a luxury. So many thinks you want to show him, and things you hope he will notice! I am with you on bread and jam, but with butter and I love whole grain and seeds in my bread! Your home is lovely and getting lovelier still! Carlo is too much like my late husband for my comfort. He was funny, because he would do something moronic, usually opening his mouth when he should have kept it shut, and his apology often came in the form of a spice rack. I haven’t seen Carlo making spice racks but the (perfect) little corner shelves he put in the bathroom took me back a few years. I don’t believe you need my help OR advice as you have made 2 wonderful homes that are better than I have done. I learned, with my husband’s love of shelves, that it is easier to paint the shelves before they go up requiring only touch ups of the inevitable scratches as they go up. As you seal the milk paint with wax (I have never used milk paint so am ignorant), how do you touch up pieces after you have sealed it? GREAT video!!! My grandson called in the middle of watching and that actually irritated me! Who has a 23 year old grandson that calls and checks on his granny every morning and I get cranky about it?!? Ridiculous!!! But only for Nicky and Carlo!

You have such artistic views on what to do with old furniture! Both of you are truly artistic! It's hard to believe you've been in your new house for such a short time. I learned the best trick ever today!!! I like to fix my own stuff, a lot of times I do a better job than the professionals , they are kinda useless these days plus it gives me so much pleasure AND it's free🎉 The use of that ladder to get the wooden pillar thingy at the top is genius, thank you👏👏
