God bless this man. He’s so knowledgeable about the happenings both in politics and the economy, especially on IMF and World Bank. As funny as he might sound and looked, he’s hitting the nail on the head
This Comrade is an encyclopedia. We need to take his brain to the fullest and document properly. Nigeria will not recognize him while he’s here with us. Nice interview 👍👍👍.
Quick prayer for Mr Dele Adeyanju before I continue to watch this episode. God ll continue to protect you, God’s mercy & favour I pray for you 🤲🏾 Honestly, you are doing wonderfully great, thank you for all this educative interviews.
Correction Agbaletu from your guest. The Current Monarch of IdoAni is Retired Major General Olutoye who I am sure he his referring to, not Major General James Oluleye. General Oluleye was from Efon Alaaye and he passed away in 2009. Kabiyesi of IdoAni is still very much alive and healthy. Am sure it was a honest mistake.
The Murtala boys who did the only called Murtala to head the govt. Murtala now insisted on using Obasanjo as his second in command. The boys did not like it but Murtala insisted. When Murtala was killed it was Theophilus Dsnjuma who asked Obasanjo to step in with proviso. Obasanjo was the egg head, Yar Adua was the power on situ.
Dear Agbaletu, Comrade goofed on £20 given to the Igbos after the civil war. It's unfortunate that in spite of Chief Awolowo's explanations in his books people still keep mixing things up. There were 3 main classes of Igbo, in this respect, after the war. 1. Those that had bank accounts outside the East and had their passbooks- they were able to resume running their accounts. 2. Those who had accounts but had lost evidence of ownership- like pass books. 3. Those who had taken out their monies before the war and exchanged them for Biafran pounds. At the end of the war, they were left with Biafran pounds which was worthless and not convertible. It was the group 2 that the govt decided to give 20 pounds , ex gratia, until reconciliation could be done.Ojukwu's dad didn't belong to the category that got 20 pounds. Meanwhile 20 pounds of that time was not a small money.
Federal Road Safety Corps was the initiative of Prof. Wole Soyinka, when there were rampant incidences/accidents through Ife- Ibadan road b4 the dualisaion of the road, though approved by IBB. govt.
Uncle kayode egbetokun is not from ilaro infact he's my maternal uncle, our village name is Erinja ile not far from ilobi town though we're yewa south local government
Sunday Adewusi empowered the Mobile Police however, he was not the one who created the unit. The unit featured prominently in quelling 'Agbekoya riot' in the late 1960s.
Comrade Sir, regarding Tafa going to Benin Republic. Tijani Armani stole a car that belongs to Obasanjo inlaw was the reason why Tafa had to go there to get the car.
This man sabi a lot. My late dad told me that former IG Musliu smith is originally from Ilesha so this man just confirmed it. The only thing he didn’t get right in this interview is what he said about sir Ojukwu, the old man never died because of the civil war. Sir Ojukwu died in sept 1966, while the civil war started in 1967. So sir Ojukwu wasn’t alive to see his business/properties seized nor did he witness the civil war…
Truly T. Y. Danjuma was prominent amongst the top military officers after the January 1966 coup-de-tat tagged the “igbo” coup. He actually participated in the July 1966 coup, as he was the determined officer who went ahead to effect the arrest of the Head of State Johnson Aguiyi Ironsi. It was even reported in the police report as at then that he (Theophilus Danjuma) was the one who picked the phone up when Yakubu Gowon called to inform the Head of State concerning the coup situation, and he assured Gowon he is capable to accomplish that task feared by many amongst the team. Nevertheless , kudos to Agbaletu team, and Hon. DAM especially.
As regards the veracity of how the trio of Musiliu Smith, late Tafa Balogun and Rilwan Akiolu became IG and Oba of Lagos respectively when they prayed to God in Mecca to grant their wishes, I can confirm that it's very true. Infact, it was my principal in secondary school that told us the story when Akiolu became Oba of Lagos. The latter referred to then IG, Gambo Jimeta was the one that told them (the trio) to demand from God their wishes at Kaaba in Mecca and all their wishes came to past.
Egba maarun ti agba man ko gbodo ko oro si enu... This should be a full episode.. What say you Agbaletu...😂 Dean of old skool and historical transparency ❤
But listening to this interview, one will now understand that chief Olusegun Obasanjo is a little bit wicked to Tafa Balogun. The word of God says that we should critically investigate issues and hold on to the truth. The sin of the sudden death of Tafa Balogun is on chief Olusegun Obasanjo and he will give account to God.
COMRADE DAN PLS THE YORUBA'S NEED INSTITUTE OF THIS WHAT YOU HAVE. DON'T BURY THE IDEA,THE YORUBA BOTH AT HOME AND IN THE DIASPORA, THE YORUBA YOUTH AND WELL MEANING ODUA SHOULD MAKE THIS NOBLE IDEA A REALITY.
Sunday Adewumi did not create Mopol.Mopol was created in response to Middle Belt crisis because of uproar generated by Army sent to quell the rebellion.
Effective policing is not possible without due process. All these federal character, and sectionalism and unexplained wealth are undue processes. Ojukwu's father did not support his son joining the military so he joined as a recruit. Gentleman total worth of Ojukwu' father Louis was 8 million pound and Ojukwu used it as initial money to prosecute the Biafra war. There is no place Federal paid Biafran 20 pound it is propaganda. What happened is the issue of abandoned property.
The issue of Igbo received £20 was true but there are some corrections in who was given and the condition. The war lasted 3 years and most Igbo left other part of the country with almost all their money withdrawn from bank with the hope of starting afresh from their new country (Biafra) all their money was changed to Biafra pound with doesn’t have any value and it was not attach to any good value as they use to call it. After the war , the £20 was a gift cos none of those people who received it has any record of their money in any Nigeria banks. Except Ojukwu all other Igbo who had any property in Yoruba land prior to the war and had money in Nigeria bank had their money and property back in full. E.g Alex Ekweme and host of others. The £20 was a gift cos most of those Igbo had nothing left in the then Nigeria.
I disagree with comrade on tawa balogun's matter had it been all past IGP are been problem things would have not been like this there is serious corruption in the nigeria police .
Good afternoon, Dele Adeyanju. Due to the narration of your anchor, about Mobile Police. That said it is Sunday Adewusi that creates Mobile Police, is a lair. Mobile Police, has been functioning since or before 1973, because, I remember vividly. My late father was in Mobile Police till 1976, then Mobile police is called Kill and Go, because I remember when General Muritala was killed. It was this same Mobile Police first came to operation before Soldier came out
Brigade of guards Army unit, as we have it on records were the ones I think he was trying to refer to. These were personnel in charge of securing the democratically elected president and were those that engaged the troop of Mohammed Bako in Abuja, when they were tasked to effect the surrendering and arrest of President Shehu Shagari. Late Dr. Nowa Omogui’s account made that clear.
“Liar” I think is an appropriate description of how to describe the volume of information this Man is “vibrating and regurgitating to us. He may have missed a few things but he is definitely not a liar.
@@HiLifeMaestro yes the man might mixed up certain information especially on the mobile police establishment but he is definitely correct in most of his historical description imagine how he was analysing each Nigeria IGP chronologically. Anyway he sometimes add some jokes which may not fit in the discussion perfectly but let him give him kudos
Yes he is knowledgeable but failed in calling IGP Aliyu Attach as Igala. He is not Igala but Ebira in Okene of Kogi State. Please let him know and correct this for the purpose of stating correct facts and history.

This man is very versed in history - he mentioned some names that no one will ordinarily mention Wooow

Please sir,how how old is this great emeritus sir
Federal Road Safety Corps was the initiative of Prof. Wole Soyinka, when there were rampant incidences/accidents through Ife- Ibadan road b4 the dualisaion of the road, though approved by IBB. govt.
Baba Ahm should have retired about 8 months but Buhari retained him till the end of his tenure
Lions building is different from Kam salam house in obalende. And Kam salam house has been sold during Obasanjo regime
Baale, Egba
Noted!!!

The was obasanjo car not his inlaw

Agbaletu
why don’t you let this man go to the schools to teach the youngsters history

It is a fact that they were given 20 pounds each as evidenced in the popular Netflix movie “ ikemefuna “
Mobile police was what the locals changed to 'Olopa Muba'.
The man spoke well but not correct about Tinubu. Tinubu is d worst President

Mobile police was around during the time of Agbekoya riot, that was around 1969. Mobile police was what the Yoruba corrupted to 'Olopa Muba'
