Seamless Integration to Omada Cloud SDN
Omada’s Software Defined Networking (SDN) platform integrates network devices, including access points, switches, and routers,
providing 100% centralized cloud management. Omada creates a highly scalable network-all controlled from a single interface. Seamless
wireless and wired connections are provided, ideal for use in hospitality, education, retail, offices, and more.
Secure Networking
Our high-quality security features defend against a range of network threats. They include IP-MAC-Port-VID Binding, Port Security, Storm Control, and DHCP Snooping. An integrated list of common DoS attacks is available, making it easier than ever to prevent them. The Access Control Lists (ACL, L2 to L4) restrict access to sensitive network resources by denying packets based on source and destination MAC address, IP address, TCP/UDP ports, or VLAN ID. User access to the network can be controlled through 802.1X authentication to grant access according to the valid user credentials.
Advanced Quality of Service (QoS)
Voice and video traffic and be prioritized based on IP address, MAC address, TCP port number, UDP port number, and more. With QoS, voice and video services remain smooth, even in situations of low bandwidth.
ISP Features**
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) get the support they need with features including DDM, sFlow, QinQ, L2PT, PPPoE ID Insertion, and IGMP authentication. 802.3ah OAM and Device Link Detection Protocol (DLDP) provide straightforward monitoring and troubleshooting of Ethernet links across the entire network.
IPv6 Support
An enormous variety of IPv6 functions guarantees your network will be ready for the Next Generation Network (NGN) without the need to upgrade your hardware. Take advantage of features such as Dual IPv4/IPv6 Stack, MLD Snooping, IPv6 ACL, DHCPv6 Snooping, IPv6 Interface, Path Maximum Transmission Unit (PMTU) Discovery, and IPv6 Neighbor Discover to enhance your network environment.
Man you’re getting all the cool new switches
The guy that doesn’t like networking or really understand it getting all the network gear! lol 🤦♀️
@@SPXLabs Yea...how are ya getting this nice stuff sent to you?
Been Eyeing this in their website.
If it's priced well ($300-400) I will be buying it. But if it's $500, will be waiting for a used one in Ebay.
It’s a great switch thus far. If you have a need for I don’t think you’ll be disappointed
$549 at B & H
You've got the power! 🎶
NICEEE!!!!! Good video man !! BTW hope your not sick, if you are feel better !
Am still sick. In bed shivering like mad
@@SPXLabs awww, you need a cuddle buddy !
I’m look for a new 10gb switch. This could fit the bill. Thank you for showing this off. I’m thinking of putting an Omada system together. Great addition to there line up. 👍
If I didn’t already own a 10Gb switch, this is the ones I’d use daily. Also the Poe++ is awesome.
@@SPXLabs Wanna send it to me haha
Got mine yesterday, I‘m not happy with it. Have some Unify U6E AP connected, I’m getting only 87 mbit through it, if connected to the TL-SX3206HPP. When I use them with a PoE adapter, it turns normal with the same Uplink. The 87 mbit are like a wall and consistent with the APs.Will send them back, if I can‘t find a solution as this was my only reason to buy them. Was looking for the TL-SG3210XHP-M2 version 2.6 but couldn‘t find one, so I was happy, that this one was available.
Doesn’t sound like the switch is the issue. Sounds like there is some other problem going on
@@SPXLabs You were right with your assumption, my router didn’t like the switch, did recognize the right speed only if I have rebooted the router. Didn’t have any issue with other devices.
But I’m still not happy with the noise, if you use PoE it starts getting loud, no matter how much you use (12W). Sure I can replace the fans also with that one, but why isn’t it at least partly temperature controlled.
Nice work. Well I wish I had an answer for you but I don’t. Leave feedback to TPLINK and maybe that’s something they can engineer in. Hopefully.
If they made a cologne that smelled like new electronics, I would be the first to order it!
Wait, now that’s an idea. Coincidentally it would also be the only cologne I’d buy and probably wear.
@@SPXLabs Crooks on ebay will buy it, too, and spray it on everything old and sell it as "brand new unopened item"
That’s fine with me. Presumably it’s alcohol based so it will evaporate losing its smell fairly quick.
Thanks for sharing this info. I've been waiting for this switch to be released for some time now as it has been "Coming Soon" for months. My guess is that it'll be retailing for $549.
That’s a big ask for only 6 ports. Wouldn’t be surprised though
@@SPXLabs Definitely a big ask but I know people that have invested in an Omada setup will still buy them (including myself). It also looks like B&H just listed it for pre-order for $550... What a coincidence!
Yeah i would have bought it too especially for my work flow. lol
Interesting. I don’t remember seeing it listed anywhere at the time of filming. But I also didn’t look at B&H
Thats unfortunate, the lower end of the omada line up is really well priced, but once you get passed the gigabit equipment you are talking 400+.
3:22 - I knew I wasn't crazy! I tried telling my coworkers/friends that there's definitely a smell to new electronics and they look at me like I'm crazy! Or at least, I'm not crazy because now I know I'm not the only one who can smell it. I might be crazy for other reasons lol
Man I wish I could edit the video and edit that part out just to gas light you right now. lol damn. But yeah almost all brand new electronics have that smell. Almost
@@SPXLabs 😂
Price is going to be the interesting part, im guessing its going to be lower that some, having the SFP+ and GBe ports is useful
Most definitely. I’m going to guess $500 in the end. But I think that would turn off a lot of folks.
$550 and available for pre-order on B&H.
@@JerryCantave1 Ouch, just checke suppliers in the UK and its going to be a similar price in GBP
Hey, this seems like a great buy! May buy it once it is available. You also played well on the 1040GPU! Keep up the good work sir!
Thanks friend. Thanks for spending so much time with me on stream to
@@SPXLabs Anytime, let me know when you will do another throwdown on another game! Love seeing you kick ass!
I’m a spontaneous kind of streamer. Usually happens like that later in the night. But I do post about it if it’s a bigger deal
@@SPXLabs Definitely post it man!, I love supporting small-mid sized channels!
Well I’m hoping to not get much bigger. Already noticing a lot more hate than usual. So let’s keep it on the down low
I'd love to see a review of TP-link TL-R5408PE-AC which is apparently a China-only router with 4 2.5G and 4 FE ports, POE af\at, 110w total budget, up to 30w per port, looks like a built-in omada controller (not sure, they just say "controller" and curiously do not mention Omada at all), fanless, and about 200 USD price.
Wonder if it is really workable (people say you can use the Chinese-only interface via a translator like google translate), if there are any other pitfalls, cause it's really hard to find both 2.5G and POE in one box, with a decent power budget, and here it seems it's also a router\controller (whether it is omada-compatible is an open question though).
And at that price... it could be a perfect home device, with a router, enough ports to power a few 6\6E APs, and if it has a conteroller, here's another 100$ saved as well.
Feel free to email tp link on my behalf and let them know!
great video AND for the record ... i did smell it hahaha once you know that sweet smell it just appears
I wonder if there is a candle with that smell
Really nice equipment I am just waiting for someone to do a battle with the tp-link and unifi in wall products
Maybe one day. Wouldn't count on me though.
Any other Switch options if you want 8x 10GBE RJ45 (at least 4x POE) + 3-4 10GBE SFP+?
The TL-SG3210XHP-M2 has „only“ 2.5G and misses one SFP+… 😂
The Mikrotik CRS312-4C+8XG-RM does not have POE (would need expensive injectors)…
Netgear MS510TXUP-100 also misses one SFP+…
Any other options for less than 1k$?
I don’t believe so. Anything 10GbE with PoE as you know is expensive AF
@@SPXLabs With upcoming Wifi 6e/7 APs 10GBE (with POE) becomes a must (the reviewed SX3206 is an example)
I’m sure it’s coming.
Best option I see right now:
TL-SX3206HPP for 4x POE APs/Cameras
TL-SX3008F with 3x SFP+ to RJ45 Transceiver (1GBE sufficient) - Server, Workstation, Inter-Switch connected with DAC cables
Total: approx 800$
There is the Engenius switch. 8 10g Poee and 4 sfp+
Well done, nice edits. Wish TPLink would have easier to remember product names ...
Super easy. The x means 10G then the other numbers mean ports and other things
@@SPXLabs they could have just called it eg the "model 320" - I will look up the details anyways if I think about buying it (power, price, ports, size) but even for that it's better to have a short #
Yeah that’s true I suppose
Interesting, paving the way to their upcoming EAP690E? If I am not mistaken those would be their WIFI6E with a 10G port. Really cool of you to have opened the unit. Really good build quality. The only problem I can see with this unit is the noise. Those two fans are good quality but they are usually loud. I say a problem, I mean it can be depending on where you put that unit. I wonder how much this is going to cost. The connectors you called bridges, appear to be power connectors (guessing) as there is a separation between the power supply side and the "IO" side. Just a guess.
I guess I was too quick to comment without seeing the whole video lol. Those fans are actually quieter than I would have thought! But I definitely would not have that sitting on my desk but set this on my network rack.
Maybe WiFi 7! But more than likely wifi6E yeah. I guess we will see
Sand alone mode is exactly what I m looking for in a switch.
Well, it will do it. I played around with it in standalone mode and well, it works. The WebUI is clunky though. The Omada team needs to help out the standalone team
@@SPXLabs Thanks for the reply, Im looking at the XS1930-10 as well for less than 500 USD, is not the POE version as that one is very expensive (XS1930-12HP), will be nice to see how the TPLink works as stand alone.
Yeah I’m guessing this is the switch to carry WiFi 7 in the future.
@@wojtek-33 Perfect, thanks for the information.
Nice review, I wonder if one day tplink can release omada controller inside a router or a switch 2 in 1. This would be really nice
Never know. It’s a possibility
TP-Link actually is releasing something like you just said, it is a router, controller, and PoE switch all in one. it is the ER7212PC
@@lasagnan yeah, but only 1g ports...
Why the whole point in enterprise gear is to separate everything so no single point of failure.
@@daltonschrader8328because soho.
Demasiado ruido para ser usado en escritorio, ventiladores de mucha potencia.
B & H has em for $549
Looks very, very like an old Dell switch design
I’ve never seen or looked into Dell switches before. I wouldn’t know to be honest
Whats the est. Price?
Don’t know.
First
At that price point... nope 😢
They do be expensive
junk...
