This is a good truck. It works exactly as advertised. The Lightning drives very confidently on most road surfaces. (I have not been on ice yet). Ford has made a worthy competitive vehicle for the truck market. I seriously considered a platinum trim level before I purchased the Silverado EV RST (in white). The brute force battery size and the mid-gate made the difference to my decision to go with a Chevy off the lot. If you do your homework, deals can be made on anything found on the lots today. We found our sweet spot in the mid-80's, but had to work on several dealers to find the one. I hope you enjoy your F-150 lightning for many years to come. (Electric was the right choice) The Chevy is a lot of fun too.
I have a 2023 Lightening XLT. I love it…it’s fast, drives smooth, A/C is so cold, comfortable and plain amazing. I’m set up for charging at home and I charge every two weeks, while I sleep. Charging at home is phenomenal!!! It’s the BEST truck I’ve ever owned and I’m 63, I’ve had a lot of trucks (all Fords)
Surprised you don't have bed liner or rubber floor covers. Figured that would be standard with a Lariat. I'm thinking I got more than I realized with my XLT off the lot.
How did you get that much of a discount below m Sr p questionmark? I've been looking all over the Midwest for the past month and haven't seen anyone willing to go more than a couple $1000 under sticker and T. Basically The differential around $10K. Love the video and appreciate any help.
For some people, it makes sense! It’s a big jump in price for the Extended range Battery if you don’t end up using the extra 100 miles or so. For my situation, I have access to charging at work and have only run into range issues once or twice in a pretty rural area.
@@jlaw1901 not the point... how much longer is it gonna take? Answer that? I have a house in Santa Barbara and one in Scottsdale and now way would i take a truck that gets maybe 250 miles a charge. I dive to Seattle twice yr for work and no way would i take that useless truck. You can't tow any distance with it either. Who's stupid enough to buy that trash 🤣
@@atg1338 it’s definitely the point lol if you don’t drive cross country then making that consideration when purchasing is not realistic. In an extended range lightning, which has the worst range of all the EV trucks right now, on your drive to Seattle you would spend 3 hours charging. In your drive to AZ, 1 hour charging. For some, the convenience of charging at home and not having maintenance outweighs the cost of an extra 8-12 hours a year spent charging on long road trips.
It’s a free truck for our fleet - our contractors tow 150 miles daily and it costs $5 to recharge overnight; we still have 5.0 in our fleet but they cost $40 in gas everyday. How often do you tow?
What do you mean it looks ridiculous? It's an F-150. I encourage you to get behind the wheel of a Lightning if you ever get a chance. It will open your eyes. That instant torque will blow your mind. 0-60 in 4 seconds. Only the Raptor R can beat it (if we're comparing F-150's). And it costs 1/4 the $$$ to keep it charged compared to gas. The performance of EV is far superior to gas. No transmission. No spooling up of turbos. Just instant torque starting from 0 RPM. This is the future of cars. EV's make ICE seem so antiquated.
@@yarnosh The uninformed often resist new/superior tech ... DVD's, digital cameras, smart-phones, etc ... and now EVs. Eventually they will actually try one, then realize the advantages. For an EV, that mean every morning it's "full" and ready to go another 250 miles, it has way better performance, it's way cheaper to operate, and it requires almost no maintenance.
In Canada here, got a 2023 lightning lariat Er for $30,000 off window sticker new not used. Absolutely love the thing. Haters will hate until they drive it. Charge it at home, nicest driving truck ever been in.
Charging at home is a game changer! Waking up each day with a charged vehicle oh it's so nice.
Yes, it changes everything.

Great video! Thanks for the real review of the lightning. Love your truck! Looking forward to more of your videos!
Thank you…I look forward to the series
Thanks Carl, we appreciate you watching!
I like the "cooler" feature under the frunk. Place in the ice, place your cool items, and the water drains out the bottom.

This was a lot truck, I was able to get a leftover bed mat and bed cover. If I ordered I probably would go full bed cap and spray in liner.

Omg what if you had to drive to the moon, theres no chargers on the way. You would never make it. Im going to stick with my bicycle.
Exactly, please do a bicycle video showing hauling capacity with detailed specs
Standard battery.? You made a big mistake you really don’t know about battery range

Best truck ever? Can you drive it across the U.S. in the same time as a gas f150🤔
Not a chance in hell 😂😂😂
How often do you drive cross country?

I’m sorry but no EV is better than a gas engine by any means. Maybe in 20 years. It looks ridiculous btw

You are 100% right for some people sometimes... but you are also 100% wrong depending on the need, because just like everything... it depends
