1) Dr. Morton is elated Claire is 'coming home' from Peru; he's not about to let Miss Choate's vendetta against Betty -- a very impersonal "Miss Anderson" as referenced by Miss Choate -- spoil his mood. It's refreshing to see him in his role of 'chief of staff' not come down hard on Betty like he did Michael during that 'ugly period' over Mrs. Harrington outcome. 2) After being on her guard 24/7 from the s.h.i.t. Miss Choate dishes out, how relieved and at ease Betty must feel when she's performing her duties and Michael Rossi breezes by mouthing a cheerful, personal greeting and acknowledgement of her professional role so he corrects himself to say "Miss Andersons'''' after his initial "Betty". 3) 12:30 - 13:02 Allison doesn't let her awareness of her mother's rather dark, evasive, semi-depressed 'mood' go un-noticed when she could have easily and selfishly just let it slip by. "We used to have more fun somehow; both of us; ALL of us. Can I help? . . . I don't mean arranging the books. I mean [pause] arranging anything else; whatever it is." At 12:53 Constance has a relieved, relaxed, warm, loving smile -- all on account of Allison 'being aware'. And then at 12:54 Constance leaning forward for a gentle, overdue embrace which brings out the GLOWING smile on her daughter's face. Were he there -- or 'a fly on the wall' -- Uncle Matt would surely feel happy for the two. With the violins coming in to underscore the sweet mood to fade-out, the combination can really 'do a number' on the captive audience. . . . That SWEET look of Allison's face at fadeout is quite welcome. Imagine: ALL of that, in a dozen minutes.
It’s impossible to warm up to a stone cold bitch and should never be attempted-one’s own humanity is best expended on others who also possess the same quality.
Miss Morgan with the crooked teeth had the hots for Dr. Rossi. Choate is hopeless, crude and rude. Betty should have "accidently" locked her in the janitors closet....easily a 4 hr. storyline lol.
from "tundrwomansays5067" oh, about four years after your simplistic question with an OBVIOUS answer: "it makes filming a clear picture a whole lot easier ;-)" -- common sense and 'Film Making 101'. You'd be happier with steamed up windows where no faces are detectable much less identifiable perhaps? Sorry, but the number of viewers' complaints about THAT would far surpass your nitpicking.
Filming equipment refection; lights, cameras, crew members. . plus for sound purposes. My father was in production. Depending on the position they kept the windows down so that nothing could reflect off of them....the same with mirrors. You will notice rearview and outside mirrors are removed. Back then they didn't do much over-head recording. Hope that helps. So much has changed lol.
I worked for a woman for 9 years until I could transfer out of this position. I was told that they couldn't keep anyone because of her, and I think she had mental health issues because her brother committed suicide. I think she felt threaten by other people or she was psychotic.
Miss Choate is a real witch. I am a RN and came across quite a number of those.

Not sure if I'm ever going to warm up to Miss Choate!! She really has it in for both Betty and Dr. Rossi, doesn't she??
Modguy61 she probably doesn’t have anything else.
True :-)

Every hospital has a nurse Nasty
Nurse Ratched! Wonder if this Claire Morton is going to stir up drama in town?
Betty is beautful
I had a few bosses like Nurse RATCHET! :) Karma was always good to me on that one, in the end. I could write my own soap opera about them! :)

why do they always have the car windows down in the cold!
+cctn2012 Because they live up North and are used to it! :)
Michele Stinnett Thank you Ms. Stinnett-you’re absolutely correct! Besides, it makes filming a clear picture a whole lot easier ;-)
