This gave birth to bowsers inside story and all the mario and luigi games. I'm glad they've been bringing back paper mario, but honestly, I love Mario and Luigi titles more, I hope they bring them back in a collection or something.
You'd think that out of everyone in the game bowser would be the one with good or the best defence. I would've had him be the tank that draws enemy aggro
Bowser is good. His HP is good, he has good defense, and his physical attack is good. Terrorize is useful sometimes to help scare enemies away. He's in my party to fight Smithy at the end. The thing about this game is that there is no character in the shit tier. There is no Kongol who is just awful.
2:01 I know that glitches probably don’t count, but in the SNES SMRPG, there is a glitch that can let you get a party members specials on another character Mallow can get Geno Boost because of this glitch
Was pleasantly surprised when i heard about this remake , this along with legend of dragoon were two of the games i wished were on modern consoles. Now if only the same(port and or remake) could happen with lunar or lufia. New entries for those series plus grandia would also be nice
I mentioned how I loved the lazy shell in a forum and someone went off about how it lowered her healing lol. In my mind I'm like.... does it matter if she can't die lol. I cannot wait to play this again
In my opinion i think SNES ver it'd be like your ranking but in the switch version Set up is similar but I'd actually put Bowser above mallow for having the best group abilities and becoming even stronger than Mario at the end of the journey with physical attacks
Now with the remake likely having never-seen-before team attacks as a prize for refilling the new Action Gauge, we just can hope the characters will be rebalanced so everyone is useful somehow!!
Remake Bowser is a slightly different beast though. He is technically the same character as he is in the original SMRPG on paper, but the changes and additions to the overall gameplay (from new things you can do like switching party members to enemy element/status resist being changed and sungle-target magic being blockable with timed hits, etc.) amounts to a net positive for him overall. It's the same as why I feel Peach went from the absolute best to the probably worst; she is still the same broken nigh-unkillable healer you get, but the additions and changes to the remake amount have resulted in more effective ways to play the game and she benefits the least from those changes.
Yeah but Bowser has the most hilarious weapons. Hurling Mario should have been an end game weapon.

Ironically in the remake bowser single handedly beat the final moss when plan (use the starting party) fell apart
