I like the fact that the soldiers were all pros and that they held their own, even tried to bottleneck him. Also how they kept shooting him on
the “high ground” because of his height. Also how they chopped off his bone claws and it took time for them to grow back.
Should be a series or movie with a bigger budget or maybe this Wolverine vs Prey on Hulu….

Yoo this Logan vs the predator from prey would be sickk

When they talked about logan killing “women and children” it could have been a sabertooth reference, it sounds like something he would do.

I've watched a number of commentators on this and so far you are the only one to pick Magneto as your first guess on the cloaked stranger and you also picked up on the Odin One-Eye clue. Congratulations.

It is indeed the bone claws.
The director chose to make them appear shaper and shiny looking was because he didn’t like the way the claws looked while in production. According to him, they looked like “ugly tree branches” or something to that effect. I also liked the fact that while Logan’s wounds do heal, they’re not like super quick and the scars are still there. It’s kind of a throwback to how Wolverine’s healing abilities used to be like in the comics until the films and later media started to make him heal super quicker.

I was questioning the decision to keep them closer in design to his adamantium claws, but your reply cleared that up for me. While I'm more partial to the rigid design of the bone claws, I can respect the directors approach. I love the tweaking of the healing factor to leave scars behind, for a Viking style wolverine it just makes perfect sense thematically + like you said it's a cool throwback

@@Cryo1 yeah the slower healing factor kind of reminded me of how it was done in X-Men: The Animated Series.

The ritual at the beginning was to Fenrir. Fenrir is the great wolf in Norse Mythology. I don't think the writer intended this to be Logan the Wolverine (Canadian). This is Logan the Wolf (Norse). Someone in the same species of bone claw mutants. Also...with the one eye, Magneto is similar in appearance to Odin.

Ahh, alright I see. So an entirely different Logan with similar powers, that's dope

@@Cryo1think of it like how they did with characters in the MCU’s What-If shows. It’s kind of the same concept. This is more or less a vagrant of the character we all know and love.
Ironically enough, this is more lore accurate then the Fox film universe ever was.

Also wolverines are only found in North America, so Vikings being in Europe wouldn't have known what a wolverine was in their day. Wolf is much more fitting and correct.

I think it's more like it prioritizes real damage. He got stabbed through the heart and regenerated in like 10 seconds. A slash on his face isn't such high priority. I bet the spear through a lung then a sword through a heart and possibly a lung just heals fast as hell. Probably also repeated wounds that happens also happen faster than superficial stuff. Talkin about where his claws leave his body.

    • @geraldherrmann787

But the wounds heal fast. Only the dried blood stays, which makes sense.

Nice reaction...enjoy a channel that shows some genuine interest. Some of the formats are a little dry. Love the camera angles on this film...Hollywood should take notes. Even the music is professional..and I don't even have to remark on the choreography...these guys and gal really show their stuff. Why can't Marvel/Disney/Sony get their presentations up to this level? Somebody should hire these guys and up their budgets. Again...great review. Keep these critiques commin'.

thank you for the love. i agree with that sentiment, but want to add, there is more freedom to experiment with characters/ presentation with fan films. The big studios are normally tied down to sticking to strict stories/ adapting the comics(somewhat) accurately & don't normally take risks like this(with the 'what if" series being an exception). Which imo, is why fan films are awesome. They can give us a fresh take on a character without having to worry about being tied strictly to the source material
