Man, this guy is charismatic. And I think Bayek is one of the most underrated assassins in the series. I love Bayek.
Shut up broooo stop saying underrated. Get out more. Everyone loves Bayek. If anyone's underrated it's Darius or Evie. You really should touch grass though
@@Frogmilkok but don't be that rude brother, easy 😅
@@Frogmilk bro, you have serious issues.
I can't wait for BAFTA-nominated Dave to be a thing
What an incredibly lovely person.
I was pumped to play Tales of Kenzera: Zau since he passionately announced it at The Game Awards. But I wasn't expecting him to talk so deeply and passionately about his work and inspirations here.
Absolutely devouring the game when it drops on PSN.
Can't wait to experience this project of his.
Thanks in advance for the awesome game Abubakar! It looks and sounds amazing!
Ok guys, I really have to give credit to you for letting Salim speak as to actually tell a story and not interrupt him. Reminds me of how the old days when late show hosts actually let their guest talk without being interrupted, whereas nowadays guest are not even allowed to finish one sentence. I didn't even notice this at first but it was around the 22 minute mark when Rob started asking a question that I realized "oh wow, I haven't heard Rob say something in a while". And I mean that positively. I love listining to you guys all the time, but at same time it's really nice to see that you are so professional and know when to let a guest talk. Other shows should take some inspiration from you guys.
Also that aside I just want to say what a blast it was to listen to Salim talk about various things like him experiencing loss as well as his love for video games. Seems like a very great dude. Definitely gonna check his game out.
He did a awesome job as Bayek
man he really liked dropping the forbidden names on this podcast 😂 i loved bayek as a character and can't wait to try out his game
Fantastic Ben Starr and Kratos impersonation!
When in the video does he impersonate?
@@JacobOlli1:06:56
@@kameroncovall Thanks
This episode ruled; Abukabar was such a lovely, joyous guest! And my god, him shouting out Soul Reaver as an inspiration is massive!!
Abubakar has such a nice voice, no wonder he became an actor. I could listen to him talk for hours.
i’ve never trusted a man at the helm of something than i have now; he knows what he’s talking about and him seeing gaming as a medium of books+movies is brilliant; i love him
"The lines are going to tell the story most of the time" This really spoke to me.
Abubakar is one of my FAVES - he's in some actual plays from Glass Cannon Network, and his talent is FIRE. Excited to play Kenzera!
Abubakars voice is captivating, such a joy to listen too
First time listener, longtime gamer, here for Abubakar. Great interview!
Gotta love him, such a lovely soul
What an absolute gentleman - I've always loved it when the people behind my favourite characters turn out to be just as lovely in real life 🥰 When will you be back on access Abu 😄
Completely agree - reminded me a lot of hearing Ben Starr's experiences and both are absolute legends. Would love if Abu could make some more appearances on the channel the way that Ben has.
Loved the end section! I hope we’ve found someone else to join in this Xmas maze this year!
Abubakar has an amazing voice too, the sort you could just listen to all day!
This episode was fantastic, I loved it. I really enjoyed listening to Abubakar speak, his passion for games is very contagious. A very interesting person with a very captivating voice. He did a fantastic job as Bayek. I am really looking forward to seeing him in House of the Dragon.
Abu as kain and Ben as raziel would be awesome
I'll admit I'm not super familiar with his other work, but he absolutely crushed it as Bayek. Great interview and guest!
what a lovely person! i lost my grandpa recently and i think...i think i must play this game !
Bayek!!!!
Still can't believe we never got a sequel with Bayek in Rome. He deserved his own trilogy. Abubakar's performance was incredible. I had no idea he was recording & filming all of that stuff while he was still in his early 20s. Massive inspiration, and I hope he gets to come back to Bayek some day. Will definitely be checking out his game as well!
#podsquad #vodsquad Loved Abubakar's message here. My mother passed two months ago and I listened to this podcast while painting the walls in her home that we bought. I still don't feel ok, but Abu's words were incredibly comforting to hear. Can't wait to experience this game and the story it tells!
You guys have had some amazing guests lately!
What a terrific interview! Dave and Rob, you guys were so calm amidst Abu’s charming AF coooool. He’s infectiously nice and a great storyteller in covering his career and experiences. I would have nerded out big time having Bayak of Siwa read those lines 🤣👍🏻 Hoping his new game and studio are massively successful! 🤞🏻
#podsquad Wow, amazing episode with an amazing guest, but let me give credit to Rob and Dave for being such good interviewers. The atmosphere is so natural, light and fun, but also intimate and deep…again, amazing episode ❤
He was fantastic as Bayek! Definitely one of my favourite assassins😍😍😍
Abu is such a gent, best of luck with the game release :)
Infinite charisma and charm. Can’t wait to check out Zau on PS+
He was great in Raised by Wolves!
oh is that him? He does some voice acting in Diablo 4 too I think
He plays Symon in D4, the priest in the intro cutscene (and subsequent later side mission dialogue)
Never finished Origins, but I thought Bayek was a great character and well voiced. Thanks for having Abubakar on, he seems like a great guy!
This has been my favourite podcast to date! Salim seems amazing with his true passion for gaming and using gaming as a medium of storytelling. Would love to see him appear again in the future!
What an amazing podcast - with a truly fabulous guest! I smiled like the Cheshire Cat throughout.
I'm currenty playing through Prince of Persia, and I very much never get bored of Metroidvania style platformers. Tales of Kenzera sounds right up my street.
I lost my Dad seven years ago now, and the way Abu spoke of his grief really resonated with me.
Thanks for continuing with the pod. I honestly think this was my favourite episode yet 👏
Fantastically fun episode! Perhaps the best one yet! And Abubakar would be a great Kain! Loved the Soul Reaver mention!
Abubakar seems like an awesome guy! I'll definitely check out Tales of Kenzera: Zau soon!
24 was immense at the time! I'm not sure how he holds up, but I loved it. Jack Bauer was a brilliant character. Also, George Mason!
Really enjoyed this interview.
I find it kinda funny that so far the only place I've seen this game being announced aside of this channel was on the news screen of public transport. Weird place to advertise a video game, but also weird that I haven't seen it anywhere else.
Tales of Kenzera: Zau looks absolutely beautiful! What an amazing debut game!! WOW!!
He did such a great job that, even though I have my reservations about ac origins, Bayek turned out to be my 2nd favorite character in the series.
Tremendous podcast, thoroughly enjoyed it. To me, AC Origins is the best of the modern rpg assassin's games and the performance of Bayek is a large reason why. Was good to hear Abubakar talk about his relationship with his father and his grief process. As a writer and former actor, the creative process is difficult although most only see the end product. The famous lines quiz / impersonations at the end was a treat.
Fantastic Episode! You can literally feel the love for games in that room!😊
Can you? Can you feel it?
Just some awesome trivia. In the AppleTV movie Napoleon, starring Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Ridley Scott, Abubakar Salim plays General Dumas, who is based on the real life figure of one of Napoleon's generals, Thomas-Alexandre Dumas, who was the father of Alexandre Dumas, author of The Three Musketeers and the Count of Monte Cristo.
Awesome interview. Couldn't be more excited for Kenzera!! The part about finding your dad's notebook really resonated with me. My uncle, who was always a father figure for me, passed away very unexpectedly a few years ago now, and I was able to get his car. Often, I'll look at some writing in there just from maintenance done on the car, but just holding that in my hands is almost like a piece of him I'll always have. Hope you're doing well!🤙
#podsquad "If there's one game you should experience in your lifetime, it's Harold Halibut" - "10/10"!
Best guest yet! What a guy.
While listening to this podcast I was in front of the mirror, cutting my hair and then when the quote at 1:13:42 came up I just completely stopped in my movements for like a second staring at myself wide eyed before shouting, "The Boss!" at my own reflection. 😂
This was fun and I enjoyed the new format (:
Great watch guys! Wish Abu the best.
I'm probably part of a small few, but recently got UA-cam Premium/Music and noticed you haven't uploaded this episode there yet. Just letting you know for any other users like me. Keep up the fantastic work 😊
Such an interesting Pod with an excellent industry guest.
Great job by Dave and Rob asking all the questions we wanted answers to.
#PODSQUAD
#vodsquad this was just lovely, also have saved it for future use, next time someone tries to say games aren’t art or something of substance. What a great podcast! Love you guys! ❤
This was incredibly moving and inspiring. I remember feeling very emotional and connected during his speech at the Game Awards and this talk was such a beautiful follow up at exactly the right time for me.
Really excited to see what other stories they are able to share as they grow!
Thanks again PSA for continuing to inspire me and keeping these lovely conversations alive. ^-^ #podsquad
I loved him as Bayek
Love these podcasts so much. Thanks access ❤
I will definitely be purchasing this game! Good interview!
great podcast , rob handled ash's position very well!
I like how they did not stop him from saying Nintendo-related stuff
Dave's a shoo-in for the Rising Star Award
I love the story, the journey, the man
Ok. I have found my replacement in case Chris Judge is stepping down from voicing Kratos. HOLY shit how Abu just randomly delivered a Kratos-impression like that without any preparation or anything is amazing.
#PodSquad Loved this episode! Abubakar Salim was such a fun guest, you can tell he has a real passion for gaming and performing, and his great chemistry with both Rob and Dave made this episode shine!
Standout moment was Abubakar doing the Bayek round in the voices quiz. I was brushing my teeth while listening to that, and as soon as he gave that delivery I ended up spraying the entire sink with toothpaste out of laughter! Great episode guys, can't wait for the next one :)
Another great guest appearance by the BAFTA-less Dave 😄 Jokes aside, Abubakar was thoroughly entertaining!
I wanna hear him say "Cadaverous laceration!" Love me some Legacy of Kain!
Great podcast!! Loved this episode
#PodSquad
I enjoyed this episode so much, I could listen to Abubakar talk all day long.
I really enjoy the episodes with actors from games and learning about all the behind the scenes of the creative processes and I really hope you can have more features!
Even if you got Ben Starr back and did a FF16 spoiler cast type thing I would enjoy it a lot!
Great episode! Can't wait for tales of kenzera!
i would call Dave the Boss, normal.
Great podcast. Thanks guys
🥰 Best post-laundry reward 💙!!
Huh?
What a great podcast guest!, however it did highlight the one tiny gripe with PS Access, which I understand why, but whenever a Nintendo Character is mentioned, the team cannot respond in a organic way and it feels a little awkward at times, when they almost have to pretend it wasn't said...
Loved Raised By Wolves 😊
I loved this!!!!!! However I do miss Ash's format too.
This is a great episode.
I must be cautious here. Access guards here are vigilant.
Keeps mentioning Link, Rob and Dave are like giving the eyes, we aren't suppsed to talk about that 🤣
Excellent show
It,s so so good 😛💣💚
Great podcast!
This was soooo good
Raised by wolves was crazy good, hate that it didn't last.
What an incredible man!
He is right “you’re not alone” when you’ve lost a loved one. I’ve lost my dad 13 years and he explained how exactly how he felt. Can’t wait to try out the game 😊 good luck Abubakar in future projects
I am now a 54yo man with a fan boy crush 😍
New Access host?
If you want the ultimate experience with this video, listen to it with beefy headphones. Abu's voice is epic.
Can u talk about the fallout 4 season pass is available to buy on plasystion store but it doesn't work
Soul reaver fan = old school gamer
Who cares
@@ledzeppelinfan1001 because he said he wanted to voice Kane from soul reaver? Maybe? Did you watch the video to the end?
Did I hear a Nintendo game? 😮
I thought that too but then remembered you can play Golden Axe on PS now so all good 😅
Mentioned Zelda a couple times
Oh no! Better not mention something besides playstation! 🤓
He probably had work lined up with PlayStation London Studio - until Sony decided to fire them all.
Lol
