@@mariammartirosyan4012 there are lots of speculations, mainly being that from SM pov, Jessica wasn't able to balance both the commitments of being a SNSD member and a businesswoman with her fashion brand, which is probably why she left the company after her contract expired and not rightly after the news broke on 9/30, other popular speculation is that all of the girls' parents have a certain control over their daughters' contracts and the decisions they make, and they weren't very fond with Jessica having her own business aside from the group (maybe bc only J was making bank out of B&E) which also leads to the most famous speculation, on which ot8 voted Jessica out of the group after making her decide between SNSD or Blanc

She wasn't doing her job to either SNSD or SM's satisfaction and got fired for it.
Her's and SM's statements say exactly the same thing
-SM supports her brand and they make an agreement with her that might be related to timing and release date of her brand since snsd was very active during that time especially during Japan promotion tour (mid to late 2014)
-Jessica breach the contract or didn't sign it(either way same outcome) and release it anyways (blanc & eclare released in august 2014) this is because she already hire staffs and prepared the brand thoroughly she can't focus on the group so she chose her brand.
-Its messing with the japan tour promotion, the catch me if you can comeback and SM had to cover some of her fund for her brand

I wouldn't be surprised if their friendship took a major dive after 2014. It's a shame how SM handled the situation and don't blame Jessica for speaking up about what happened. I still think it was pointless removing her from the group. I am happy to see Jessica and the other members pursuing their dreams.
i think it really comes down to how sm handled it. bc if this was just sm, they'd have waited until after tokyo dome or after the fanmeeting, not before it. they'd expect jessica to finish her obligation. but the fact that it was before a fanmeeting makes me think the girls really did tell her not to come and that made her speak out. instead of being a mediator, they told jessica shes out. but this to me seems like a rash decision that may have been miscomunicated to jessica. sm would not have risked announcing the news before their greatest hits album drop and a casio cf. not to mention cmiyc. seriously, everything points to jessica never leaving the group and them just easing group activities after tokyo dome. its a shame that 930 happened.

I’m so happy for Jessica and seeing how much she has accomplished. When you are in a kpop girl group you don’t have freedom to do what you want to pursue your own dreams. Jessica is my ultimate bias and I think she is such a influential young woman and I’m so proud that she has achieved what she has achieved I think her leaving the group was the best for her not going to lie.
From reading her book shine. I can tell that Sunny is still good friends with Jessica and was one who stood by her the entire time. That's the only part i can really decode in her part 1 book "Shine"

She's not in contact with anyone of them anymore , she even said on the book that the shy quite member end up living for the drama, that is; she joined with the rest of the girls, the main character was very selfish and shallow minded when it comes to the way she handled/ viewed the rest of the girls, and don't forget it's still a YA genre book, most of it were embellished and exaggerated for drama and to lure/ engage readers but honestly it's a very cliche book, Mary sue character with no dept

I will always be OT9 but time has allowed my heart to heal. I'm glad Girls Generation members and Jessica are achieving on their own. They are grown women who deserve to be recognized for their talents and individuality. Even if we will never get an honest explanation for the departure nor their relationship in actuality. I can love Girls Generations and Jessica at the same time and support their endeavors.

SNSDs Gee was the first k-pop song I ever heard in 2009, been a fan of the genre ever since
honestly most views these days are inflated. Fans go as far as to take on bot-like behaviour just to increase views artificially. It can be seen with some groups who got so many views yet still aren't as impactful in South Korea as less viewed groups. When I used to go to Noraebang in Korea with my Korean friends, the song choices were always those of "less viewed" artists.
I remember seeing some stans in a fandom saying they dont shower or go to school anymore just so they can stream- and although thats hard to believe, I personally know people who are like that.

There are alot of smaller fanbases that try to stream hard, but they barely gaining any views close to these numbers.

Jessica wrote on her official statement that both SM and the members supported her business at first but "others had a changed of hearts" (line from her statement). I still believed in what she said until now than SM. Call me bias but I believed in Jessica's words more than SM.
Seems like they moved on already but it will still remained as the biggest mystery in KPOP. And also a lot of people after what happened keep on discrediting Jessica's hard work as a SNSD member. I just want to remind you again and again that SNSD's peak, their glory days was when they were 9, not 8. SNSD debuted as 9. For SNSD's iconic first 7 years together, Jessica was there. Their biggest smash hits had 9 voices. They won a lot of awards when they were 9. And Jessica was there when SNSD became the Nation's Girl Group and Legendary Girl Group.

She is forever part of snsd to me and I can’t separate her from them in my mind, but I can respect and see how amazingly she has been doing with her brand, music, etc. I love them all so much…. I still remember that goddamn 9/30/2014. Days before that, they released a song called Indestructible and singing how the Soshi Bond is really indestructible. Then I suddenly woke up to see the news from allkpop which is notoriously known for spreading fake news. I was skeptical and didnt even take it in and just laughed about it. However, when I have checked on the other SONEs posts, it was indeed true. I was bawling my eyes. I was really crying and depressed for the whole week even crying. It was also a day when we did a reporting, I was really crying and sometimes tried to keep it in. Jessica is my bias and one of the things sold me in to SNSD is their sisterhood and to see that "friendship" was actually the reason why my bias was kicked out, it did let me down. I was very doubtful and unsure to enter KPOP world but SNSD invited me in. They are the first group who struck my heart and I really felt betrayed at that time. 9/30 was a cursed day for me. I always remember it whenever 9/30 comes

For one they're open about when they argue and disagree, but that's what makes them human because at the end of the day they still loved and cared about each other. They mentioned this a bunch of times during variety tv and I think it's healthy to talk about it unlike many kpop groups you see with a happy face. Snsd were a family to each other.

I still remember the days jessica news leaving snsd, I was crying as river. I was crying a whole day and can't still believe this would be happen. Because I never though snsd in bad terms or something. I thought maybe they just fight, jessica will come back but no. I still remember, I still waiting for jungsis season 2 but it cancelled. Then, during sm concert, sone were screaming jessica's name and the others were crying. I saw the fancam and it's really broke my heart. It takes a long time to move on from what happen and we still never know what is the reason.

I remember the day she left so vividly. I was in high school. I remember seeing it online before I went to school. Literally couldn't focus throughout the entire day as my thoughts were constantly on the girls. Snsd were the first and only group I basically dedicated my entire life to, I remember been so upset and confused as to why Jessica left as it seemed so out of the blue. I of course still support the girls just as much, but it's a day that will always be etched in my mind. I was worried that, that would be the end of snsd, but I'm so glad they were all able to carry on and bring love to us sones and golden stars 🌟 Thank you soshi. No matter their paths, I was always follow close behind.
I remember hear the news too. I'm sad. Real sad. But because i'm mostly a logical person, i try to see that complicated situation in logical mind. And can accept the outcome and still have positive frame of mind to still support them In whatever road they are taken several years ago. Gladly, they still here and do their best in their own path. Jessica extended her Contract with the rest of the SNSD members literally 1 month before she left. She wanted to stay. Thats why her sudden departure was shocking. She claimed in Interviews in 2010-2013 that she is a follower, and lives her life day by day, and doesent have any higher ambitions, she is already content with her life as is. So it seemed weird at the time in 2014, that she suddenly wanted to leave to pursue fashion. Alot of Fans put 2 and 2 together and blamed Tyler Kwon and believed he got in the way and influenced Jessica to leave, because he gave her money to start a business, and she was pressured. She was devoted to him because in her words, he gave her a new confidence that she was capable of more then she thought she could do. Remember she was still under SM until she pushed to terminate her contract later, so SM didnt just dump her. She suddenly wanted out. Something happened that could not be repaired. In the end, she probably chose love over SNSD. Her book "Bright" also hints the Character choosing love over her famous life in Kpop, and had to break some "rules" for this love. I believe that Jessica did make some mistakes that hurt the Group, but she also felt hurt because of the drastic and harsh decision to quickly remove her. People change over time, she seems fine with her current life. Its only been 8 years, but Jessica has changed and drastically matured since, I guess she had to. That was a life changing eye opening event for all 9 girls. All 9 girls seem to be doing fine, and I still dont sense any real bad blood between the Girls. Doubt it ever happens but it leaves hope for a OT9 reunion, maybe for their 15th Anniversary.
Jessica's vocals added a lot to many songs, especially the Japanese ones. Songs like Youaholic, Great Escape, Hero, etc would not be the same without her.. When she left the group they never were the same.

Whilst I'm happy she found success after hey dismissal, I think the hope that ot9s have for a reunion is silly.
There are now 3 members of SNSD no longer under sm contracts, and they haven't been for nearly 5 years. They have had plenty of time to "speak up" but won't, bc ot9 is in the past. The girls and Jessica aren't friends anymore, and likely haven't been since 930.
They aren't hiding their friendship from the SM eye of Sauron. That makes literally no sense and anyone suggesting that grown adults would do this are delusional.
As SONE, I just wait with respect. The time will come, they will talk about it and reunite again.
One thing I will NEVER forget is how sones and fans alike betrayed Jessica. They switched up on her so fast I couldn't believe it, going from claiming how important all members were to purposely act like Jessica was never part of the group. While SNSD pre-2014 will always have a place in my heart as the group that brought me to KPOP, that year made me realize how much KPOP is just a pretty facade.
Not all sones.. I'm a Sone too but I respect their decision, I understand because on 2014, I parted ways with my girlfriends too. We had each others back in a boarding school up to our graduation. We even had a promise that we're going to job huntings together but reality sets in. One of our friends is already engaged at 19 and awaiting her marriage while one of us had to go abroad. It's sad and bittersweet but hey we hold on even though we didn't seen each other since 2014..

I truly believe Jessica doesn't have any hate towards GG members she was just mad that no one tried to stood up for her to carry on her personal business and have her freedom (but I always had a lil dissapointment with her because she came off as kind of a petty and selfish person sometimes, I mean if you want to pursue another career you should have left the group not to argue with the whole company to get what you wanted coz you are still an employee for them and she left all the blame and dirt to other members... but BUT I can't hate her I still love our ice princess alot)
GG members might have to let her go to save the group because many I mean MANY people loved them adored them and knew their fans will still support them and of course to save their jobs as idols as well since its their very passion.
anyhow I'm glad to see all the members and Jessica doing well and thriving in their own career paths. it's amazing because I grew up with them. I hope I witness OT9 together before I die. I really do.
I agree with you. I don't hate her. I love all 9 of them with all of my heart. And I don't have any right to say who is wrong or who's right because we don't know the whole situation. But I kinda think Jessica should have either left the group on her own (obviously I am ot9 fan and don't want any of them to leave but if they are happy with it then I am also happy) or should've wait for her contract to end. I can be completely wrong and Sica could be completely innocent victim but again we don't have complete information about it.

But I have just heard that if you have signed a contract with big entertainment companies like SM then you can't open up your business like Jessica launched her own clothing brand (sorry if I am wrong). I love Jessica, but her saying that if she had stayed with SNSD, she wouldn’t been able to achieve her dreams, I don’t agree with that. Seeing the snsd members now, they are all free and doing what they love now. Jessica just got a head start on that.
No she wouldn't of been able to do that, many of the members have left the company to pursue their acting dreams. They did say they will have a comeback one day as eight but its clear that SNSD is not their focus now. They are all able to go for their dreams because their contracts were finally up. SM originally was okay with Jessica having a brand but I don't think they realized how much time it would take out of her schedule. I bet they just gave her an ultimatum. Her brand or her group and it seems like she couldn't let go of her brand so they decided to let go Jessica.
I don't believe she would have achieved her dreams fully (the way it is right now) if she stayed with SNSD. Personally I think jessica started in snsd is a good thing because she got money,experience, popularity, friends, sisters and of course fans that love her. Starting a business cost a lot of money, and need a lot of customers. To be honest when she said that she wasted some time in the past I feel sad, it’s not like they force you to do it but jessica also decide that on her own so I think she should be thankful to the people that support her and also what happened in the past because it makes her strong and be the person that she wanted to be right now. Action speaks louder than word. Not once did SNSD members mention about the story but Jessica profiting from her cryptic books and stuff. Secondly, suppose SNSD members stood up for Jessica, what happens next. Jessica can always fall back to her fashion brand and her music label which funnily both backed up her rich boyfriend. The others, I'm not sure what their parachute would be. And it doesn't make sense for the girls to give up many years of training. Either way, it wouldn't have worked to be an idol and also a designer/entrepreneur. Jessica should just move on like everyone else.

From what I understand of the whole 2014 situation, Jessica chose to leave at first because of all her business pursuits, which is why they'd shot the video for Divine as a goodbye to her. She then changed her decision later, due to having second thoughts about leaving or Tyler, which is what made the members have to rethink her position in all of this. You really think all 8 members, most of whom were some of her closest friends, would vote her out randomly just out of vitriol, jealousy, or pettiness? And do you really think SM would have blacklisted her in the industry just because the other members wanted her to leave the group? Jessica definitely violated her contract in some major way and was unprofessional enough to lose the trust of her closest friends. I mean, I don't necessarily blame Jess either. SM contacts are literally slave contracts. I do think she wanted more out of her life, creatively and professionally. She pursued that and she ended up having to lose another part of her life because of it, and that happens. Hyoyeon has spoken about how they've all had to suppress their own individual voices, opinions, and inclinations to make the group stronger, and how difficult that was. I can understand that Jessica was struggling to continue living her life like that and wanted to do something that was her own as well. At the end of the day, her priorities had changed. I mean, trainees end up going through so much shit pre-debut, but the ones who get through it are the ones who are sure that they want nothing more in life as nuch as they want this. That's it. It's just unfortunate that she had a messy exit from SNSD, but that was probably because SNSD as a group was a big deal and there was probably a lot of pressure on them to continuously match a standard of work which Jess wasn't able to make happen anymore. SNSD and SM had to take a professional decision. It's not like it was a family business, SNSD was at the forefront of the Hallyu Wave, in a time where the SKorean govt was known to be supporting K-pop groups to improve their position as a global soft power.

jessica never wanted to leave and divine wasn't supposed to be a goodbye song, the songwriter confirmed it on twt. if they were preparing a farewell for her, why would it be with a japanese song/mv? even if she wanted to leave but ultimately changed her mind, why would sm and the members be against it? they would benefit from her decision to stay as snsd wouldn't suffer a lineup change. her statement is pretty consistent and sm and the members never refuted her. dispatch also confirmed their involvement on her removal in a article they posted on their chinese/korean portals (but it was deleted almost immediately in favor of sm's smear campaign against jessica) also chinese sones knowing what was happening between them before it became public is also suspicious.
she also never violated her contract, if she did, sm would've sued her but they never did.
Her commitment to the group is questionated, but there's no proof that she was lacking, she never missed schedules or rehearsals like some members did for their acting roles. even if she was struggling, they didn't even gave her enough time to prove herself. blanc was launched in early august and she was kicked out in late semtember.
I remember the day I read about the article on allkpop and Soompi about her getting kicked out of the group. I was at work on my lunch break eating a cakepop. I was soo sad :( At first, I was hesitant to believe the news because the sources it came from were always lying and being skeptical, but then Jessica confirmed it was true when she posted on her weibo about getting kicked out and not being invited back to the ShenShen chinese fan meeting they had that same day. If you watch the fancams from that concert, all of the chinese Sone's were screaming for Jessica. I wish I was with them to scream as well. Jessica is my ultimate Bias in kpop. She is what made me believe in Soshibond. When she left, I lost interest in SNSD. But I still support them all in their individuals activities, but I sure do miss ot9. I just wish SM could quit being a dick and allow them to hang out in public because the fans deserve it.
Even if she wasn't in Kpop she can still soar high. Her perseverance in her plans is making her rich today, she bravely pursue doing business behind sm ent. even if it means everything. Jessica said in an interview years ago that she's still in contact with some of the members but not all. I know Sooyoung has tagged people on Instagram that get also get tagged in Jessica's pictures the same day and in the same place. This has happened with other members too.
that interview was most likely fake. because it was for fly promotion and at the same time, a more reputable inteview (billboard) says she hasn't seen the members in a long time.

I know everyone was saying they could hear some of the girls in the backgrounds of her birthday post but it'll always just be a wishful guess.

To be quite honest Jessica being solo is one of the best things that can happen to her and her growth and her career. Being signed to companies like SM you have to do everything by their book and push the image they want yeah you may help right the song with a few other people. But full creative design belongs to the company when it comes to the album the video and everything. Even business endeavours they will find a way to get a portion of that money and don’t think you’re gonna grow and open up shops without their approval either. Having the freedom she has now is well deserved. Even Tiffany when she didn’t resign, yes she is still considered part of SNSD but she is not an SM artist and they don’t get any of her money that she makes from her music and tours and TV appearances. The book is telling that it was indeed the 8 others who didn’t want her in the group anymore. Before a concert, Jessica was told by a person that if she comes to the concert, the 8 others will not come with her.

I remembered that 1st time, I was 18 when I heard the news about 9/30... I heard the news months later because I just graduated from vocational school and too busy on my job hunting. I remembered how my life spiraling down the drain on that year. After graduation, my oldest brother told me to stop doing childish things e.g. kpop. So as my last goodbye, I surfed the internet and was bombarded by tons of news and millions of speculation about Jessica's departure. I walked home that day with my mind, haywired. My life sunk into depression until 2017. Somehow, I recovered when I accidentally saw Seohyun on Scarlet Heart Ryeo.. and their my SONE pink embers sparked again and slowly I started picking myself up and accepting the fact that everything had changed..

As someone who used to be the biggest sone but now is so busy with her own life (lmao 😭) I got tired of being sad about this for real. I just turned ok and truly happy about Jessica turning out an amazing fashion designer and the girls following her dreams. I don't think I will know what was the reality but I don't care anymore.
