As a Sony user I would enjoy having the dials of the XT3.. I wish our full frame a7 series had that second dial like the a9.. it is truly a shame Sony didn’t use their new 26 megapixel sensor in the a6600 that they sell Fuji for their XT3. The sensor in the a6xxx series is starting to show its age. I just sent my a6600 eval loaner back in and enjoyed using it. For the photo and AF features I’d have to choose the a6600 but if you’re a heavy video person then you’d obviously want the XT3 for the 10 bit and 4K60. Fuji user here and love My T3 and H1. However, I feel whenever anyone does a test, use each to the best of it's ability. The Fuji was correctly exposed here but the Sony was not. Fuji's ISO is measured differently than the rest. But you can't say Sony was "brighter". You didn't expose it right. If Fuji is a different setting than the Sony, and it will be, fine. This is something people should know about the two brands. Doesn't mean one is better. Just means the exposure setting will be different.
There is no comparison in video performance here. The Fuji is a gh5 with incredible AF and the Sony is still running 8bit 100mbs from 2012. Do not deceive people run the Fuji at its max and do some color grading on each and watch the Sony fall apart. Also you need to mention that you can’t take the Sony outside and shoot video in the summer it will overheat after 5 minutes that’s exactly what happened to me. I own both of these cameras.
Rising Stars that is correct the grip is larger but the actual body excluding grip in my understanding is the same. I highly doubt the little bit of extra room in the battery grip will do anything to help with cooling considering the heat is being generated from the processor which is the exact same as the one in my a6400. I kid you not a month back I needed to record a 10 minute continuous video with the Sony in a room that was roughly 90 degrees. The Sony overheated on me after 5 minutes! That’s when I knew the Sony was pure garbage and could never be trusted in a pro environment. I do not have these worries with my fuji.
What iso setting did you have when doing the dynamic range tests? Because with Fuji the best iso for increased dynamic range is at 640iso not base iso, im always shooting high contrast scenes at 640 iso which gives you 400% dynamic range as compared to base iso.
