*The most visceral issues in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN history is here!*
Me: _No one topping the Morlun fight Marvel. No One_
Which fight? They’ve duked it out like 4 times.
@@assassinsknight when I talk about The Morlun fight I mean THE MORLUN fight aka the fight that got spidey bleed, losing an eye, and his life
@@mcpics4448 the marvel knights fight
@@mcpics4448and somehow someway, Peter got resurrected by being empowered by the Other, one of the Trinity beings of the Web of Life and Destiny! 😅
Ah yes, THAT one, when Morlum was 1st introduced and under JMS's pen!
I applaud you for actually reaching the six minute mark for this kind of issue. Nick Lowe also gets kind of petty talking about that EXACT marketing they used for this issue at the end of the letters' page in that very same issue.
Oh? And what's that? 🤔
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw Basically calling out the people who will complain about how this issue was described as the "most visceral" issue of Spider-Man, when in reality it was just the normal fair. Then he went on to say that the book will never be brutal and that the promise of visceral action was actually about the *emotion* behind the fight. Kinda cheesy.
@@jamzilla6990so basically being a petty jerk who can’t take criticism, which at this point shouldn’t be a surprise to me with Nick Lowe and his ego.
@@jamzilla6990 I see! 🙄
@@TevyaSmolkaon that note with NICK Lowe, he just replied to a fan in the letters page that Peter will get together with MJ but he must NOT ever marry MJ as he said and I quote, "there is a certain guideline when it comes to characters owned by Marvel. For example some characters must maintain their status quo such as Daredevil remaining blind as that is what makes him Daredevil"!
Why can’t we see Spider-Man beating up Tombstone, instead it leaving us with a cliffhanger?
Despite the drop in writing from one writer to another, I do love my spidey action. Thank you and keep it up.
Agreed, Joel, this was a big, nothing-burger of an issue, and there isn't much of visceral action despite that the solicitation say or claimed to be! 😅
Warm water is good though!
Tombstone got all that jam on his face, what a messy pup.
@@TimPoultney yeah his art isn’t as great looks goofy now lol
I don’t know if I should drop ASM after #60 or keep going with this joe Kelly guy just tried of my favourite superhero getting treated so badly in this comic. Thank god for miles and ultimate
I'd say just DROP IT. And stick to Miles Morales and USM
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw that’s the plan knowing my luck 8 deaths of Spider-Man will be good lol
After this they're doing another technical mini series similar to Spider-Man Beyond called the 8 deaths of Spider-Man, so yeah I suggest dropping amazing for a bit and stick to Miles and ultimate for a while
Joe Kelly is not a great writer and on top of that he’s a part of the bnd crew so don’t expect anything to change in that regard
@@yiorgosstergiannis4742 yeah he was the one who did grim hunt not a fan lol
Zebb wells run is ending soon?? I can pull out my wallet and start buying this comic again???
God what a waste of paper if you want something that’s drawn by JRJR and that’s written good read Kick Ass or All Star Batman (by Scott Snyder) ugh
The only thing I felt in this issue was the dialog between Janice and tombstone on him being willing to kill his own daughter. Nothing really visceral but dude good stretch on the review. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Really dumb question? With Spider-Man, power set and abilities, why is it even a fight?
Tombstone had him self altered in old spider-man issue.
His skin is hard like marble, hence name tombstone.
I forgot which issue Google is your friend.
@@BoudewijnPiet I’m aware of that, but Spider-Man is still stronger, faster, and far more mobile then tombstone, again I asked why is this even a fight?
@@andrewilson4089it's just bad writing, that's what it is!
Tombstone has held his own against Spider-Man before. Plus he probably has more fighting experience than Spider-Man given that he's older and grew up on the streets.
@@mttylerdurden9 prior to this he did say that he will kill off Spider-man for real this time and he WANTS the whole world to see!
How is Tombstonr a match for Spiderman physically?
it took me like 5 minutes to finish the issue. it feels so empty. JRJR can do entertaining fight, this issue and issue 4 of this series prove that well and the sequence of her running away from him is almost like a domestic dispute type portrayal but i feel like a better colorists would do wonders for it. im just waiting for this to end.
Joel, is it a possibility for AI to write comics for Marvel or DC?
How can tombstone keep up w spiderman? Spider should be much stronger no?
@@gbdomingo I guess Tombstone just really really wants it this time.
Every since Tombstone was given super strength, he’s always been able to give Spidey a challenge
@@gbdomingo it's Wells's stupid writing
@@CapedJoel or just call it what it really is, it's Wells's stupid writing
Best part of this issue is the cover.
I dunno why, but I decided to check out this issue and I regret the time I wasted. The art is honestly the worst part of this for me. There’s that moment where Tombstone grabs something sharp in a prior page and it looks like he stabbed him through the skull. But no… turns out it was just lacklustre art that poorly represents what truly happened with a poorly chosen onomatopoeia. I feel like I might be able to read an issue like this where it lacks substance had they just gotten on an artist that isn’t Jr.
How can anyone call this mess visceral when we didn't see any actual viscera drop during the fight? Seems clear Zeb isn't even pretending to give a crap anymore. Just playing out the string. Like even he's looking for a merciful end to the madness.
Correct. Technically, Wells is done with ASM after the Goblin 'fight'! BUT Marvel wanted him to stay on for one last arc before the incoming creative team of Joe Kelly and Justina Ireland, which the next run is a tie-in to the next Big event, "ONE world under Doom"!
You can tell that the Run was supposed to end during the goblin thing because it feels like that generally doesn't know what to do for one extra Arc, because he was supposed to be done
@@flashtheshapeshafter like I said, blame Marvel Editorial for FORCING Wells to continue on for ONE more arc
Here we go again.
You know what this reminds me of, that memed panel where Peter is yelling at Osborn to help him takedown vulture or he's going to die, how is he struggling this badly against the guy he's beating a million times😭
It's either a) BAD writing, which is most likely, and b) Tombstone probably has been working out and is now in a vengeance state of mind!
Wow just wow PLEASE JUST LET THE RUN END ALLREADY
It will.
In ONE MORE ISSUE (Get it😜😁?)
The apathetic bile has returned to JoeI’s voice… we’re right there with you, Brother. Oh, lord was this a nothing burger, not even a five minute read.
I’ll continue to reiterate, Marvel does this book absolutely no favors by having it release in the same week as ultimate. It’s like paying to listen to the cover band when the OG band is at the same exact venue.
Agreed 100% with that!! Yes, thank goodness we have USM to WASH away the bad taste that is Wells's NOT-so Amazing Spider-man!
It’s a chase scene that ends with Tombstone getting his face scarred by his daughter and Pete tumbling out a window with him.
There, I just saved you 22 pages of jack-all. You’re welcome.
Just two more issues and we’re free…
The best way to describe the art is no one wants to work on this book.
It’s almost over, god what a mess.
This ain't visceral fight but just dumb and frankly a boing story that makes no sense whatsoever and is so boring and not interesting in my opinion.
Green Goblin vs Spider-Man for the life of Gwen Stacey was a visceral issue, but this was just an okay issue. When is Marvel going to show Spidey some respect?
Never. They want him to be an unlucky, pathetic loser that everyone, especially kids and younger readers, can "relate" to!
When you guys stop buying it and making it one of the top selling books every month.
@@mttylerdurden9 not going to happen. People will buying and reading Spider-man because they want to see if Peter will get together with MJ!
2 more issues on Zebs dung heap to go, please stay strong.
Not that Joe Kelly is going to be any better.
I read he will leave it to Justina after issue 62.
God help us all.
Wait Joe Kelly isn't writing all of SM?
@@kinght676 up til 62 then his name dissapears from the covers, only Justina Ireland remains.
And she is heavy into Dei stuff.
@BoudewijnPiet ...that's not a valid reason as to why she is a bad writer. Gail Simone is a heavy "DEI" writer and she is considered one of the best writers out there. I need like examples of her being bad
@@kinght676 i know Gail simone turned Nightcrawler into a furry Just this week...
Only comic i have seen Justina write was the blood hunt tie ins from Asm..
And those were not good..
@@BoudewijnPiet anyone who uses "dei" as a criticism cannot be taken seriously.
Why do you torture yourself with spiderman?
Because Joel is a Spider-man fan like you and me, and he's doing us a favor by reading this so WE don't have to!
