Have you ever used a Potato before to smelt Gold or remove mercury from amalgam. Don't eat that potato afterwards. Lol For more vids on smelting watch this video ua-cam.com/video/PJpW3qP-7ss/v-deo.html and smash that like button....SMASH it HARD !!!!!! goldkilnsusa.com/
what sort of mind was wandering around while sitting by a campfire and happens upon "hey what if we use a potato", for pretty much anything, much less precious metals refinement
DANG THERE SUNNY GEM!!! LOL 😅.......You learned me something new again....Who would have ever thought of using a dang Potato to do that with....... Excellent video Jeff...Thanks Brotha...
my dad and his friends back in 1940 Alton Arizona used to do that sort of thing in a very simple way. They had mercury, the potato in a spoon and a candle. You had all your stuff in your pan pour the mercury and slash the round let it gather up the gold and you take a teaspoon at a time of that hold it over a candle when you held a potato over it probably a cooked potato to capture your mercury vapor and the gold would be left in the potato half and you could just crumble it up and get your gold out of there and take it to the assayer. I didn't have all the wonderful tools you're using here. Apparently didn't really need them for survival cash basically during the depression. It worked
Yeee Haaa..!!! Now..!! What if you use a SWEET POTATO 🍠..!!..Jeff…??..LOL.. Another well made Video on explaining Exactly ..!! what to do ..!! for FREE..👍.. I am sure there are many thousands of Gold Prospectors that are surprise that you can use a Potato 🥔 to retrieve your hard earned GOLD..!! Thanks Brother from another mother..! Say hi to Lila.and the Crew.. Cheers Tony 🍻⛏️ Happy New Year..
TONY !!!! love them sweet potatoes..... thanks my brother always appreciate that ....will do and say hi to everyone for us and of course to Wendy ....P.S. Santa brought a 6000 for Lila so we may need some pointers
@justinsane7128 I just checked my friend. Paul hogan is very much alive. The crocodile named Burt died in a Australian zoo on Dec 2024. Paul is old and feebile but very much alive
No gold so far but I did find trumpet plants. We poked around a bit, no luck. 😮 Picked up some crystals in the wild. Still plugging away. 😂 I will let you know when we find that five pound nugget!! 😊 oh and we are by quartzite. Yee haw.
I would love to see more of kokoweef mining, but I think this is the first video.I've never seen you yelling in l o l love the videos, keep the content coming
Was wondering if you think recovering gold from gold plated jewelry is worth the trouble. If so, could you do a video showing the best method you would use.
@6:10 - To be fair, you're not using the traditional MAPP gas since they stopped making that formulation in about 2008 I think. You're using another gas mixture.
Yeah, it's the mercury left behind in the environment that is the issue, as over time bacteria will convert it into a soluble form such as methylmercury, which is incredibly dangerous. Metallic mercury is totally safe in comparison, practically food-safe.
The old prospectors used to say, You can pee in one hand and poo in the other. But if you keep doing it, they'll lock you up for sure! Well, they may not have said it but they were probably thinking it, a good bit of the time.
Makes me wanna get off my hiney and find some shiny! Or just get off my lazy butt and process that Mt Baker dirt that I have sitting...... too many hobbies, too many distractions! BTW that tater made me hungry, must be breakfast time.
For real man, i got a bit too many hobbies of my own to juggle. I need to build some more storage cabinets so all of em arent cluttering eachother up in the garage lol. Between gardening, prospecting, beekeeping, tinkering on any kinda machinery, and wood and metal working, my garage is mighty occupied with distractions. Always getting sidetracked with multiple projects haha.

Yeah, it's the mercury left behind in the environment that is the issue, as over time bacteria will convert it into a soluble form such as methylmercury, which is incredibly dangerous. Metallic mercury is totally safe in comparison, practically food-safe.
You have done this one before if I remember right.
