Same for us, it’s about a 2hr drive for us. I love this park since it’s never crowded. I think it’s also one of the better family friendly state parks.
The turkey roost was closed on our last visit. We had to revisit and check out the trails we missed. We also had to jump in the water to beat that Texas HEAT!
Thank you! We love going here during the summer. Wow 25 years! How much have the park changed since then? Thanks for letting me know how it’s pronounced. Happy hiking and safe travels!
@@MrSTravelQuest You're welcome. The majority of the park has not changed, but the area where they have the steps and fencing has taking a big toll of erosion (river access #3). I would say about 15-20 feet has gone away. Your video quality is awesome. You have a new subscriber now.
@@ramiromontoya9357 That’s what I love about the park. It’s never been too busy either. Thanks for the compliment, we try to highlight the quality of each park we visit. Thanks for subscribing! Hope to see you around in the comments. What are some parks you plan to visit this summer?
@@hikingwithjackieboy we love visiting the lakes, river and waterholes in Texas during the summer. We just got back from our NC trip. We plan on visiting Austin to check out Lady Bird Lake and Eddy Pool.
This park is one of my local favorites because it’s nice but it never gets very crowded.

This is now on our "Must Do" list. What a beautiful place!
It’s a beautiful park, we hope you check it out 😊
Looks like the water would be fun! Beautiful flowers as well.
It’s nice and great for tubing. Flowers were in full bloom. Great park and it’s a dark night sky park too 😊
Thks for sharing a nice, clean water park - great photography!
Thank you so much! The water beautiful and clear. Worth a visit if your in the area.
This river looks amazing, can't wait. Going there soon
Y’all going to love it! I still haven’t done all the trails yet. The water is nice and clear. If you go try out Lums, it’s a local BBQ place.
@@MrSTravelQuest Lums, okay, we will look out for that.
@@TexasFamilyCamping It's pretty good and it's near the park.
Been here in March and it was nice!

Great video. My favorite of all time; greetings from Houston!! Been going there over 25 yrs. Will be there in a few days. FYI: pronounced "South Yano"

Good job. I have been there
Thank you, it's a nice family park.
How shaded are the Overlook and Fawn Trails?
Most of the trail is well shaded. The overlook has a table for a nice picnic.
@@MrSTravelQuest this time a year I try to make my hikes early morning
Same here! I try to get done by 11am.
@@MrSTravelQuest that heat is a bit much

I want to go mountain biking here
It’s a beautiful park for biking. We seen a few folks on the trails riding along.
I used to live over there
It’s a beautiful area, love the BBQ near the park too 😊
Can the kids swim ??
Yes kids can swim, it’s a great park for kiddos.
@@MrSTravelQuest ok thank you. Going there on Sunday. From Odessa. My kids are little so I'm not looking for anything to deep.
@@Josediaz-cz2ns it’s perfect for that. They have spot near the park entrance that’s great for toddlers.
@@MrSTravelQuest great. Thank you.
Did ya'll float the river while ya'll were there?
You know it! Then ate some BBQ at Lums, a local restaurant in Junction.
Is it still nice 2024
I’m sure it is, we visit during the summer 😊
It’s YAno
Yes that’s how it’s pronounced in Spanish. The locals and staff pronounced it like this.
