2:04 Sun Shangxiang literally summed up the problem with the female characters in DW. Why does literally every dialogue with a female has to be about a particular man? Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao always talk about their husbands, Zhen Ji always brags about Cao Pi, Lu Lingqi and Diao Chan never shut up about Lu Bu, Xing Cai and Wang Yuanji are always babysitting Liu Shan and Sima Zhao, and Wang Yi is obsessed with Ma Chao.
Because every character is related to another. Every Shu character can't stop talking about Liu Bei's benevolence. Every Wu character is baby sitting Sun Quan outside of about 4. Wei has more individualism because Cao Cao was more about talent than loyalty
Obsession with Shu? Koei seems to rather fairly paint all sides as either good or evil based on who's viewpoint you currently are on. Even Lu Bu has a good side in the games. The games are just based on ROTK. Koei knows that for example, many of Guan Yu's early achievements in the games were actually Sun Jian.

Sun Ce and Liu bei actally never met only SUn Jian. Sun Shang Xianf and Liu Bei was met when Liu agree Zhou Yu plan to make it seems Liu army dissolved
Well, I wont argue there is alot of untold story that should be, but I think that more had to do with the way the games are oriented around the larger battles. With the way DW7 went though, Im hopeful more story will be fleshed out, since its no longer just big battle scenarios, but smaller events and character interactions.

After Liu bei's death, Zhuge Liang and Sun Quan had peace which lasted until the end of Shu, during that time, Shu helped Wu cleared the Qiang and XianBei people while Wu helped Shu during their final defense against Wei/Jin at 263, they didn't have wars against each other, during 253-265, many generals of Wei also made peace with Shu and Wu (ex Zhuge Dan and Guan Qiu Jian) to fight as one unit against Sima clan, in 258, Zhuge Dan of Wei rebelled, Wu supported them while Shu attacked at the back
I don't know why but the second cinematic seems awkward after a fight. I think added in soldiers would lessen the feeling I have. Also, Sun Shang Xiang first met Liu Bei during a marriage transaction between her and LB ( wikipedia / Sun_Shangxiang ).

Wrong Saelune, Guan Yu's achievements such as killing several skilled officers under Yuan Shao was because of the pact Cao Cao & Liu Bei made. Liu Bei borrowed soldiers from Cao Cao, and Guan Yu must stay behind for a while to help in a campaign against Cao Cao's enemy at the time. They are Guan Yu's achievements, not Sun Jians. Such as fighting & killing Houang Zhang at Shi Shai Gate.
Any reliable historical source will tell you that it was Sun Jian that killed Hua Xiong. Hua Xiong's only mention in the Sanguozhi is in Sun Jian's profile. Not only that, but he defeated Lü Bu twice, once at Yangren (along with Hu Zhen), then in the ruins of Luoyang, and Dong Zhuo at Daguguan. Really, Sun Jian is the one who did the most during the Alliance against Dong Zhuo.
And look at the full opening of Dynasty Warriors 8. The yet again overcredit Zhao Yun. Zhou Yu should've been the one in action since he's the Hero of Chibi. And the end hasn't changed from Dynasty Warriors 7 opening, Zhao Yun and Xiahou Dun have their rivalry and I reckon it should've been Zhou Yu and Cao Cao facing each other in the end of DW8.
They are over-exaggerating everyone though. Hence why the games are a "romantisized" version of history. Whatever extra attention KOEI gives shu seems rather neglectful at this point. And considering Shu is the underdog for most of the period, it is not unreasonable to see why their actions seem more meaningful. If the games were more true to history, everyone would just be a jerk all the time.
