oh my dog what you've brought back to my memory....my older cousin had a white Skoda pickup in the 90s - early 2000s...we used to pick up stuff and drive that thing in the countryside near the lake! beautiful place in the spring/summertime! I was in my early teens and those was my very first driving experiences...dude, I loved it! In my mind, that Skoda pickup was the coolest vehicle in the whole world! after that period I literally haven't seen a skoda car in years here in Italy! however, great road trip montage! you're gettin better and better at that! the mighty coast place is beautiful as usual! If I had a palce like that I wouldn't leave it even for a single day ahahaha! ps. I think everybody knew you were gonna put carbon fiber in there, otherwise these joints had no sense at all ahaha! majestic job as usual! looking forward for the next stuff! all the best!
Ha ha thanks MG! Skoda! I love my skoda as well. It would be like losing my arm without it. It's a Fabia VRS, with the good engine, the diesel turbo. You are probably right actually. I'm renowned for doing crazy stuff like that. There is an extra piece that needs to be connected to the legs and CF kind of made sense in the beginning.
@@elams1894 I'm thinking this is going to be stronger than traditional joinery since it will be like having cf rods holding everything in compression/tension. As always thanks for the videos. I really enjoy them.
I have a question. Why did you shellac'ed the groove before filling with the epoxy and carbonfiber? Because i thought the epoxy will be bond with the wood better, without the shellac.
The epoxy resin will bleed through into the wood very badly and I dislike that. I only need the resin the bond with the carbon fiber as it is the CF that holds the joint together. The wood does not need to bond with the resin as the CF is holding all the force. Cheers
