      @@HandmadeCreativeChannel GREAT JOB !! I want to do that but with a compound telescopic jack to get more distance. I'm a retied EE that likes to MOD EVERYTHING down to a washer. BURNS MY A$$ !! My buddy down the street says,"why are you always trying to changing things". Cause they JUST don't make it like they USE TO !! If they made it like they were SUPPOSED to,i would NOT have to MOD it ! Mechanically and/or Electrically. But I'm like you,it's fun making something BEND to your will and have a masterpiece at the end of the day.😎

    Or, or, and hear me out now, you COULD just use a vise. I know. Crazy ain't it? Nah, I'm just picking with you. But, a vise is a little quicker. And requires a LOT less time and effort.

    Get a harbor freight air over hydraulic jack and the hydraulic foot control. You probably have an air compressor already

  • @Dream.big.dreams
    @Dream.big.dreams Рік тому +1

    Had you used an air over hydraulic then your air compressor could do the jacking instead of you doing the jacking leaving you with more jacking time for yourself! Thumbnail was not in the video, so I considered that False Advertising and False Advertising gets Thumbs Down from me!

      It has a lot of range, can be used for pressing in bearings, bending metal pieces, in fact, a great substitute for a press if you have a smaller job to do. I like it.

    • @dysfunctional_vet
      @dysfunctional_vet Рік тому

      i am guessing, but i'm thinking 2 options. the first is a pick up for the fluid to evacuate the space since the jack is out of orientation and the second is to allow something very close to what i have just written. the base of the jack is such that when the pressure valve is closed, fluid pumped can only enter the bottle pressure vessel which lifts the jack. when open, the ball valve is not held securely and the oil flows into the reservoir. the booklet that came with my jacks state to use horizontally, you turn the pump arm to the sky and it will work correctly, not sure why he added the tube.

    not bad, except the force on the vice jaws are actually only as strong as the base plate of the jack. while likely strong enough for most work, you are not going to get the full capability of the hydraulics because the base will likely deform, then the rams will come out of alignment

    I really enjoy your videos and love the vise because it is also portable if so desired. I would have liked to see you attach the long pump rod to the original jack as I assume you welded it onto the pump pin it came with out of the box. Your editing is great and the video moves right along with no boring phases.

    • @HandmadeCreativeChannel
      @HandmadeCreativeChannel  Рік тому +3

      Thanks for your wonderful comment, I appreciate it! The pin is not welded, I made small plates that clamped to the jack piston and long rod. Sometimes in ours you think the camera is shooting, but actually you forgot to play the recording. That's why I didn't show it in the video, I apologize. I try as much as possible to minimize redundant shots and make it interesting. thanks again🤩

    im going to share with with a buddy, he is always pressing bearings on small engines and this would work well for him instead of the 800 pound hydraulic press that he cant take to a job sight.
    normally he uses sockets and a hammer to seat or remove bearings. (customers cringe)
    edit. if you had a larger version of this and put your fire wood in it, it would burn a lot longer. very cool!
    thumbs up

    I love: #1 the fact that nothing is overly precision #2 one drill does almost all the drilling and de-burring #3 welding is poor but good enough for this project, looks like 023" wire #4 no worries about splatter on the work table making the project a bit uneven #5 Makes me wonder why I have $1000's and $1000's of dollars of tools. LOL
