After many years of Thailand living. I can tell you how to live like a king and always come out on top risk free. Come enjoy Thailand to the fullest. Don't buy anything , Don't invest in anything, Don't sign a lease. Don't trust anyone. Pay as you go for everything ! When your visa exempt period runs out. Move on to the next country, do the same. There are numerous places as cheap with cleaner air and water. Great food. And you can stamp in visa free for 90 days or more. Other places are much easier to extend your stay if you wish. Come back when your legal stay is ready again. Enjoy what you like about Thailand. Thank me later. 🎉

@@แสงรวีเอนเตอร์เทนเม้นท์thank you. Yes I’ve been to Philippines back in 2012. Toured Manila area then went to Siargao to surf Cloud 9. Spent a month there. It makes me anxious due to population and just so many islands.
I'm Thai and currently living in OZ so I know both countries better than you. Our minimum wage in Thailand is 320 baht/a day (14 AUD/a day) so it was very expensive for local Thai. Rich are so rich poor are so poor. So if you have money then go for it. And about safety, it wasn't so bad but a lot of scam and theft and I can tell you Australia is much safer with much better quality of life Australia got much better clean environment and the rate of corruption in Thailand from the top to bottom is very bad. I'm Thai and love Australia so much and you loving Thailand so much so we should swap the country. Australia is one of the best living standards in the world yes it's expensive but very high wages. I work in chicken factory in OZ with minimum wage and still able to travel around the world whereas in Thailand if I work in factory I couldn't afford to put 3 meals for my family. For a short time or Holliday yes living in Thailand is great but not for work life balance. For you to say the life in Thailand is better than Australia is like me saying living in India is better than Switzerland. But most Thai people are nice, helpful and friendly that's true. But living standard in Thailand is def not better than Australia. Not even close.
Hi thanks for the comment and the support! I’ve been living in Sydney Australia all my life and I’m aware of all the downsides and negatives of living there for more than 20 years especially the lack of freedom and a lot of propaganda. I think Thailand is awesome if you have a remote job (income from the usa or Australia) and are supporting the economy of the Thailand by bringing money in. Otherwise yes working a regular Thai job isn’t going to be as easy. Have a great day!
Well said I agree and I'm married to a Thai lady in Australia it's not hard to earn 1000 dollars a week in most jobs yes after rent you've probably only got half left but this guy isn't earning anything or not much mum's probably sending him the rent money 😮
It depends on your situation. I'm Australian, and I have lived in both countries. I owned a business in Thailand up until just before COVID hit, and we sold it. I can earn a good living online, so for me, I can live in any country and work for myself. I have owned businesses in Australia in the past as well, and my situation was pretty good. If I factor in the living expenses in Thailand compared to Australia, I have more than twice the amount of spending power. Thailand's private hospitals are better than Australian hospitals, and Thailand is close to many other countries and cheap to fly to. The people are friendly, and you're more free to do things. Obviously, if you're working for someone else, then Australia is a better choice, although now it's difficult to find places to live if you rent, and it’s very expensive. The mistake a lot of Thai people make is they look at Australian wages and not living expenses. Australia, especially the cities, is very expensive, so a normal person earning a normal wage living by themselves still finds it difficult to save money at the end of the week. There is no one size that fits all. We all have different tastes and objectives in life, and finding what suits us is very challenging but rewarding when done.
@@rosshitchen-ij6en Im working at chicken factory with minimum wage full time hours in Adelaide. I have money to travel to Europe and around the world. My sister is also working at Arnott factory in Adelaide and have money to go follow her favourite band ( Iron Maiden) around the world to watch them. She is having a group of friends around the world from European countries like Finland/Sweden, UK etc and 95% of these people are working in the factory some even on pension payment. Do you think you can do that working in factory in Thailand/Phillipines/India/Malaysia/China etc? What you have here in OZ is the quality of life and the land of opportunities. My friend working in factory with me & his wife is a female doctor. In Thailand if you work in factory you got 0.000001% chance to have a wife as a doctor. Australia is a land of equality and opportunities if you are willing to work hard enough you can have future. In Thailand you can work 7 days a week and I guarantee you can't save up to travel around the world. I know cuz I have been there and my career in Thailand is a pretty good one too. I retired here a year ago. I have no regrets whatsoever. Affordable cost of living, excellent health care, great food, awesome people, and great weather.
I've been living here for 2 years. You'd find out more about the downsides sooner or later. There are things that make no sense, like the hazard when it comes to the roads and drivers, the pollution, the abject inequality. Is it still worth living in? Arguably yes, but maybe not for everyone. I miss having parks to walk to, and walking at all. I miss fresh air.
I still think it’s better here than a lot of places just be like a local and try to be one I don’t think it’s that difficult and you would enjoy yourself even more
Thanks for the comment! I also believe that the air pollution is a big problem out here in Thailand especially in the north where I currently live in Chiang Mai but taking trips to the mountains/forests where the air is cleaner and or going to less polluted areas in Thailand helps a lot. Also I started taking Claratine an anti histamine to help with allergies. Have a great day :)
That's the main reason I'm not really interested to stay long term in red light district areas because they are really degenerate. Over here in Chiang Mai the life of the Thai people is really wholesome and family orientated. The young girls and boys go study at the Chiang Mai University or other nearby ones and or go work in there family business of food stalls, accomodation, etc. Hope you have a great day :)
Good luck - im an aussie, been living remote for 8 years. Did thailand for 8months. Have seen 100s of guys quit and head home once their visa ends. Make sure youve got some solid income coming in man and enjoy the ride
Welcome to Thailand krub and wish you enjoy the entire time living in Thailand. Love to see your clip and thanks a lot that you try to convey the correct information to the westerner or australian to know that Thailand is not scary as they think. Love your channel and will be your FC forever 😊😊😊
Thank you for the kind words 🙏 khob khun krub! Thailand is definitely not as scary as westerners or Australians think, it is actually a unique and lovely place. Have a nice day :)
Just spent $75 AUD for the ingredients to make my own home made keto cookies here in Sydney, Australia. When you're at the mercy of the Duopoly of Woolworths and Coles supermarkets here, you don't have much competition, or a choice. There are many other reasons why the prices are so expensive but let's not get political. Tempted to do a bit of country hopping to some Asian countries :D
Thanks for the awesome comment, brings me back to the time I used to work at Woolworths and buy groceries every week haha. I completely agree with you and especially for health foods like keto, meat or healthy ingredients the prices in Australia is crazy. While the prices of junk food is cheaper so it makes people less hesitant to purchase bad food. Thanks for the support and I hope you have a wonderful day :)
@@HalfieLife I used to work at Woolworths to when I was younger haha, good times. Fellow vlogger here, keep up the good work. Might have to reach out when I visit Thailand mate. Any recommendations on which cities to visit?
That’s awesome to hear mate! I recommend visiting Chiang Mai for less foreigners and a more laid back cafe vibe (has a lot of coworking spaces as well) and the main city of Bangkok for shopping and a great quality of living. Let me know if you need any help with Thailand, happy to help a fellow Aussie :)
@@HalfieLifeIt doesn’t cost $75 to make Keto cookies ? You people really like to exaggerate everything . I am so sick and tired of hearing how overseas is so much better .Since everything is so perfect overseas ., why did all your parents moved to Western Countries? These days , no country is better or worse . It is what you make of the country you live in .
Normally Thai university students only paid around 160$ per month for air-conditioning room. You can find these around university which usually have the best value for money zone in Thailand. Use Thai language to search by the way...
Happy to see you here I hope you enjoy your life here and yes things are cheap around here we live in Chiangmai we know exactly what you are talking about
@@HalfieLifeI.'m a local also. Been here 12 years from Auckland. You need to look around more for better food pries. I pay from 25 - 40 baht a meal. Guess that's because I've been here a while. Good Luck with settling in!
The western culture has collapsed AU UK NZ US CAN. All are overpriced, corrupted at the top for big dollar big corporations and yes Edward Snowden in 2013 warned the world about it being a big brother and Australia has Pine Gap which is the main surveillance hub for all the above mentioned western countries capturing all our data likely including my comment too
Living in Thailand can seem pretty cheap if you’re coming from a Western country with high wages. But for people who live and earn in Thailand, it's a different kettle of fish. It’s like comparing apples to oranges. To really get a sense of what it’s like, try snagging a job in Thailand and see how far your paycheck stretches.
Hi Peter thanks for the comment! Yes that is why I suggest getting a remote job while living here in Thailand. That way you can bring money into the Thai economy and live well.
@@katherinenic Wow that’s awesome to hear Kat! Just had a look through your channel and it’s great to see your a fellow Thailand vlogger :) I’m currently in Bangkok but I loved my time in Chiang Mai so much. @@HalfieLife Ahh, nice I was in Bangkok in January for a jazz festival! Do you plan to live mostly in Bangkok? Yessss, Chiang Mai is definitely a special place! Hope you enjoy your time in CM with your sister :)
I wonder what income you have? I have been to Thailand many times, it will be twice this year, and easily afford to retire there. It is a great place to visit, the costs are reasonable, the people friendly and the prices are low but here in Australia once you own a home and can afford the life, there is a lot more. Thailand is endless people unrelenting traffic and heat. The thing that hits me when i come back to OZ is the room and quietness, even the centres of Melbourne and Sydney are not as crowded as Bangkok or Patong. That said I cannot wait to return to Thailand in September.
I do brand collaborations with hotels and restaurants for income right now :) I believe Chiang Mai is way more peaceful and quiet than Bangkok if your more into that. I’m currently living in Chiang Mai! Thanks for the support 😊
After 35 years in New York City, a week-long vacation to Sydney, and watching your video about Thailand, I've come to the conclusion that living in the Philippines is significantly less expensive. If you want more subscribers quickly, go to the Philippines.

Enjoyed the video. Visited Thailand last fall, had an awesome time and can't wait to return. Hopefully later this year. New sub to your channel. Greetings from the Grand Canyon! 👍
Great video, well done. Subscribed. I am a 54 yo Australian and I’m married to a Thai lady, and she has a young 12 yo boy, that I also love very much. I will probably show him what you are doing, he will be very interested in it I think.
@HalfieLife_ Yeah, I have been to chiangmai twice, and it's beautiful . The problem is...I already bought a house in chonburi. Anyway chonburi is OK too ...surrounded by mountains...less pollution...
@HalfieLife_ Pattaya night life is terrible. That's why I choose chonburi, not Pattaya . For beach .. I suggest Koh Lipe, not Jomtien Beach. Koh Lipe more privacy and good for snorkeling.
@@kalyasirithanks for the suggestion! I haven’t heard of those areas so I’ll have look into them. I’m only aware of Koh Samui for beaches and Pattaya 😅
I live in Sydney and it is a complete rippoff these days.My daughter go to school in Thailand and i will be moving back soon.I wished I would of discovered Thailand when I was young like you.Good luck with everything there.
I live on the Gold Coast and the cost of living in Australia is ridiculous and another shit part about living in Australia is youth crime is running rampant and the justice system doesn’t do anything I can understand why you move to Thailand. the only thing I love about Australia is the beaches if Thailand was not so hot I probably would move there too
@@HalfieLife so if you don't mind...what's your source of income that helps you to live in Thailand? I want to live there too but don't have enough money
I can get a Thai meal in Sydney CBD for $10 because a good salary in Sydney is 4 times as much. 35000 Thai baht a month is like $6000 AUD a month in Sydney.
Price can definitely vary a lot but usually if it’s western food it’s more expensive while if it’s Thai food it’s way cheaper. Hope you have a great day Gerin!
Thank you I completely agree! If living in Australia or any other country makes you happy then its all good! I still love Australia and I'm grateful for my time there :)
I just paid $6.10 for medium takeaway coffee in Australia! Crazy! Doesn’t matter how much you earn in Australia, it’s never enough. Don’t know who would move to Thailand to work, doesn’t make sense but if you have the ability to earn outside of Thailand then you are far better off. Sounds like a lot of people on here don’t have the financial means to earn money other then working and therefore bagging Thailand lol I suggest build a passive income like dividend income and trade options and stocks! Earn dividends every months and live anywhere you want in the world! People that complain on here need the 38 hr week that just keeps your above the poverty line. JOB stands for “Just Over Broke” an Aussie here been living comfortably and has had a better quality of life here in Thailand then when living in Australia.
Couldn’t agree more with you! JOB stands for just over broke and that’s exactly what I was when I worked a job in Australia. Thanks for the comment mate, I love hearing fellow Aussies thoughts
I went to Subway in town Australia. 2 long subs 3 cartons of flavoured Milk $50 Australian Dollars ...Yes I wont be going in there again....Even though I had an idea of the price....To live in Australia you need DEEP pockets..
Very refreshing video. I like watching young people coming first time to Thailand. With zero experince and also no bias, just talking about their first time experinece. He even is amazed about the low prices. But I would add some more arguments to stay in Thailand other then the low prices. By the way, Thailand not that cheap anymore., One day you will realize that. Untill then keep exploring and enjoy life.
@HalfieLife_ Yes, JK is my bias. Well. Usually, people tend to choose V as fashion icons. ... Or J hope. JK tends to choose comfortable styles...big T ...loose pants ...
I love Thai people and Chiang Mai is my favourite place - I can tell you will love it and being a 'halfie' you are top of the pops there - most of the TV stars in Thailand are halfies. I think you will have a wonderful time - the only thing is the work situation - if you can find a way to earn a western salary while living in Thailand then you have it made !
Thank you for the nice comment! Yes I actually make income here through brand collaborations with hotels and restaurants in Chiang Mai :) Have a great day!
Honestly not too much as I do the same things I did in Australia here in Thailand just for cheaper. Only things I miss is family, friends and having more people I could speak English with especially people my age. Thanks for the comment :)
I would love to visit Thailand. Can you talk about what the average wage in Thailand is compared to Australia and also what the the main industries of work are there? Do people speak English widely there for someone that doesn't know the language?
The average wage here in Thailand is a lot lower than western countries. I definitely recommend getting an online remote job if you plan on living here long term in Thailand or finding a well paying job here in Thailand. English is spoken here and the people here are more than happy to use google translate to help you but I definitely recommend learning the Thai language. Have a great day Scrunch :)
❤wish you happiness If you have a lifestyle that doesn't depend on convenience and overpriced appliances, consider Chiang Mai or other provinces that are far from Bangkok. As an alternative, you will see the difference from when in Bangkok. The warmth of the people, cleanliness, safety, air, nature, while food is available everywhere on the roadside. If you live a peaceful life and at the same time hospitals, medicine and food are not inferior to Bangkok, I guarantee that if you choose to live in Chiang Mai, Phitsanulok, you will live your entire life with no more than 1M-2M$ Like a king, if you have a family it won't be more than 5M$ for sure ,It depends on how much you like to travel :D as someone who has lived in Phitsanulok for 23 years It's fun to drive a motorcycle or car in the city by yourself. Lol
Video is great and agree with most of it, but how do you support yourself? I mean $600 AUD a month is great, but in a year that will be $7200 AUD. What’s your source of income there? If you don’t mind me asking
It's actually not that hot really for me, maybe it's because I'm from Australia but out here in Chiang Mai it's pretty good besides the rain somedays. Thanks for the comment :)
I thing hard to replicate is how clean Australia is. We have some of the cleanest air in the world, no rubbish and beautiful nature! but I agree our expensive are through the roof at the moment.
Definitely agree, love the general environment of Australia and I still love it! Just the prices are high and it's harder to move out. Thanks for the comment :)
@@WalkingandTalkingAussieGirl Yes I have been to both countries. India is very dirty and is much worse than Australia Thailand however is not that dirty and is cleaner than Australia.
You can draw a line from the 4 most expensive cities in the world straight back to mainland China. That's not racism - it's a fact, and who can blame the Chinese for wanting houses and units that either have tenants or are fit for their kids to live in while they finish a degree in Oz.

hey bro i'm curious about your level of productivity and combating procrastination (if you have that) when you moved away from home. how long do you edit your videos for or your process? especially when you're travelling and in a different place. i'm combating my procrastination by going out more in the city instead of staying home. i would like to move to a country someday but for now i'm just taking a small step towards going outside more and being productive
Hi Julius thanks for your comment I'd love to help! For me going to a co-working area helps massively for my productivity. I usually edit videos for 5 hours everyday and take breaks every hour when I feel like it. Back in Australia I wasn't very productive but out here in Thailand I haven't really procrastinated too much. Also I have my own productive routine that I follow everyday so I can focus. Hi Kewpie, yes you able to use your Australian bank card here in Thailand but usually there are 3% fees and you are only able to use them at more modern stores (not at food markets, etc). If you are coming here to just travel and not move here you don't necessarily need a Thai bank account. Hope that helps :)
Thanks for the support Phoenix! I definitely recommend at least traveling here to see if you like it. If you need any help with travelling to Thailand I'm happy to help. Just shoot me a message mate :)
I have done both but the crunch comes if you are ill then you will be racing back. Secondly it depends where you live. Victoria is significantly cheaper for food than NSW. Bali is actually cheaper to live than Thailand.
If you're acutely ill and going to die, you can't race back anyway. If you suffer from long term chronic illnesses, the Strayan medical system isn't very good at treating or curing them.
Its all relative. Sydney is alot more expensive than anywhere else in Aus. Sure everything is cheap in Thailand, but the wages are much the same. I suppose if your income is from UA-cam then its possible.
If you can afford too do it or have a remote job you would be absolutely mad too stay in Australia especially if you have no kids..if you have money Thai lifestyle is way better

@@HalfieLife Enjoy Thailand it's a great culture and the people could most Aussie's a thing or 2 about Core Value's and Gratefulness with the added plus of knowing how to live each day one at a time instead how much money will I have for my retirement!!
Great Video ! Have seen 100's of hours about Thailand from vloggers and what you said is true and echoed by many other folks. The USA is so bad right now in the cities and the political reporting is awful.
Its insane how expensive the big cities have become, they are now full of trust fund kids from china living in all the apartment towers and essentially all the food businesses cater to these people, there is no culture left in Sydney, its been hollowed out by the aggressive housing market, most young people I know still live with parent well into their 30s and beyond
Why are you comparing Australian dollars to cost in Thailand? Of course it’s cheaper. You have must be having money sent to you hence the conversion. Get a job in Thai land and go look for renting 600 doller a month accomodation.
As a young guy there are visa issues you need to overcome living in Thailand. And the newly updated tax laws for those residing within Thailand 180 days or more in total per year means you could be paying tax on incoming funds to Thailand. Now they're contemplating taxing worldwide income as well outside the Kingdom. Cost of living yes, cheaper, but things could be getting quite a bit more expensive if the Thai revenue office decides to tax all expats.
Thanks for the supportive comment !Yes recently there has been abit of negativity but they don’t know how many online working opportunities there are. Have a great day :)
skipped thru bits of vid so might have missed it but how did you get a long term visa? only options today are the elite visa (stupid expensive) and retirement visa obviously to young for it... Im 33yrs old and the only other visa that exists long term is if you make 80k usd+ per yr.....
For me I prefer doing the Thai language visa or the Muay Thai 1 year visa. There are also new visa's coming out recently (not sure about the release date) that will help digital nomads stay in Thailand for longer and cheaper. Thanks for the support HeyWattsUp :)
Yeah that’s the reason my parents moved to Australia many years ago. I still think Australia is good but only if you’re financially well off. Have a great day :)
I mean Australia is shit but I would rather be in Australia in saying that I don’t live in Sydney so it’s a fair bit cheaper that’s why I’m looking at moving to Japan in the next few years safer cheaper wages are not the best there but it’s still roughly half the price a day to survive
Haha, enjoy it while it lasts. Eventually, you will have kids, and will move back to Syd. You need bank of mum & dad, and their free child minding services. Plus you are a bit asian, as the No.1 son, you have obligations and responsibilities to your parents when they require age care.
I love Australia especially because I was raised up there my entire life but after you've seen other countries, you can see where Australia lacks. But I would even be happy to live in Sydney Australia as long as I was making good income.

There always positive and negative side.... Yes pollution is big problem but Thailand is much safer than many countries...
@rhh171 To be honest, I think Thai people are quite nice... it depends where you are staying....

Normally Thai university students only paid around 160$ per month for air-conditioning room. You can find these around university which usually have the best value for money zone in Thailand. Use Thai language to search by the way...

The western culture has collapsed AU UK NZ US CAN. No worries, thank you for your kindness! There are so many nice Thai people :)

I'd love to go to the Philippines sometime soon. I'm actually half Filipino and can speak Tagalog :)

โอ้ววว หล่อจัง😊
but dude, in Australia your earning potential is much higher than in Thailand...the more you earn the more your living costs 😊
True! But if you can get Australia/Western online income and work while your in Thailand that's the best way :)
I just spent $9 USD (350 Baht) for my breakfast this morning here in Bangkok. It costs me between $5-$10 per meal (with a drink) here in Bangkok.
It was a basic breakfast buffet at my hotel

Thailand is still objectively cheap compared to 80% of the world.

Hey Josh - do you miss Australia at all? Like the lifestyle? The financial stability and the easy goingness?
Honestly not too much as I do the same things I did in Australia here in Thailand just for cheaper. Only things I miss is family, friends and having more people I could speak English with especially people my age. Thanks for the comment :)
Dude my condo in Mega Bungna costs $250 per month, and feels like a 4 star Hotel. Rite at the Biggest Shopping center in Bangkok.

Thanks Anthony I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
If you live a peaceful life and at the same time hospitals, medicine and food are not inferior to Bangkok, I guarantee that if you choose to live in Chiang Mai, Phitsanulok, you will live your entire life with no more than 1M-2M$ Like a king, if you have a family it won't be more than 5M$ for sure ,It depends on how much you like to travel :D
as someone who has lived in Phitsanulok for 23 years It's fun to drive a motorcycle or car in the city by yourself. Lol

Malaysia is cheaper than Thailand, and people (in the big cities) speak English. Try going to Kuching, Sarawak. It's the best place to live.
I'd love to visit Malaysia sometime in the near future. Thanks for the suggestion Andy, I appreciate the comment :)
KL isn't cheaper than Thailand. Rest of Malaysia maybe cheaper.
I had 100% better medical treatment at Bangkok hospital then I did at total Perth hospital in Perth! Royal Perth was like a third world country!

How do you make money bro
As a young guy there are visa issues you need to overcome living in Thailand. And the newly updated tax laws for those residing within Thailand 180 days or more in total per year means you could be paying tax on incoming funds to Thailand. Now they're contemplating taxing worldwide income as well outside the Kingdom. Cost of living yes, cheaper, but things could be getting quite a bit more expensive if the Thai revenue office decides to tax all expats.
Great move
