There's something beautiful about converting major songs to minor, and vice versa. It changes the meaning into completely different things. Very underrated channel btw, your editing is pretty good.
This is...the first time I’ve come across a video like this that actually makes sense to my brain. I never managed to get into music in early life (despite the desire being present) but I’m starting to get a little obsessed with theory, despite the fact that I often struggle to wrap my brain around it. You explained this in a way that I could absolutely wrap my brain around, so thank you. Subbed and saved the video 😊.
THIS IS BEFORE WATCHING THE VIDEO!!! (FOR SCALES) What I know, each major key has a minor key. When going into the respective minor key, you retain the same sharps or flats. In solfege (spelling), you start on Do. You go down to La. using C major as a base, because it has no flats or sharps, Do=C and La=A. So going to the minor key of the corresponding major, you go down 3 half steps (tested) Basically: Start with your key. Go to the base note. Go down 3 half steps. Keep the sharps or flats. Play scale. Boom. Minor key. Edited note: I like transposing with parallel minors.
My only instrument is my voice and I can't sight read, so turning songs to minor was something I was super lost on. This is super cool, thank you for making it!
At first i'm like....this is a mistake, how did this video become #1 in my search results? It only has 219 subscribers for crying out loud. The #1 should have over a million subscribers right? Yet I continue to listen to this "Amatuer" video teacher lady and by the end of the video I totally understood and received everything I came here to learn and Im 100% satisfied and gave you a thumbs up. Now, how in the heck did that happen? :-) Thanks. Moral of the story kiddies,..... ALWAYS trust the search results.
I NEED a guide what shows a SOFTWARE to convert a major song to minor or viceversa (through Stems). I don't need to learn again all about music theory :/
Wait, let me get this straight....I find a useful video about modulation...and the creator brings up OATHBRINGER in the first minute?!?! I have instantly found my favorite UA-camr of all time.
I’ve been using change pitch in audacity but in the key I have been setting the from the notes of the song and then to G minor for example does this do a good job as to me it sounds different it sounds like the key has changed and not the pitch
U cant convert a finished major sample into minor scale, because “transposing” means u gotta transpose all the keys in the chord/scale in one group, that means u cant only transpose the 3rd or 5th key of the chord/scale to make it minor or vice versa
The chord part is most confusing. So you find the individual notes in the triads of your chords, and then if those chords contain 3rds or 6ths (of the major scale) you flatten those and leave the rest of the chord alone?
So, basically you did exactly what I did when I tried it. Hooray! I did it right! Although, I didn't know whether to use natural or harmonic. Your answer: whichever sounds better; makes sense.
Nerdy Princesses oh ok i get it now, the sharp of so is si. Also in my language, we say sol instead of so and we say “sol diez” instead of “sharp of so”
Transposing the song from major to minor makes it sound sad and somewhat hopeless. It also makes the lyrical content feel insecure in it’s message where as parallel major is confident and exited. You should talk about modes and their effect on music. For example, transposing this to Dorian would give it a minor sound with some major flair.
@@nerdyprincesses9465 Yeah i ll be pleased if you guide me of transposing the g minor its driving me crazy and no 1 to guide if you could just give a tip ...???

Wait, let me get this straight....I find a useful video about modulation...and the creator brings up OATHBRINGER in the first minute?!?! I have instantly found my favorite UA-camr of all time.

You know the line in hey jude that says "take a sad song and make it better." [Laghing with evil intent]
So, basically you did exactly what I did when I tried it. Hooray! I did it right!

Oh wow
it is monday, for me
This make call me mabye sound like a song written by an obsessive fangirl
So then how do you transpose a song from a minor key to a major key? Is it just the opposite?
It all clicked at 3:30
RAGS?!?! IS THAT YOU?!?!?! I KNOW THAT VOICE!!!
wait do americans say “ti” instead of “si”?? it’s do re mi fa so la si do in europe and asia
English speaking people say ti.
For us, si is one of the chromatic solfeges (either the flat or sharp of so, I don't remember which). They probably changed it to avoid confusion
Nerdy Princesses oh ok i get it now, the sharp of so is si. Also in my language, we say sol instead of so and we say “sol diez” instead of “sharp of so”
I am hear because I want to transpose happy birthday.
U just converted carley to britney
holy damn i understood more them my teacher hahahah pretty good job
"im not your mom" HAHAHAHAHA
why ti? wasn't it si?
Call me maybe huh, it has been a hot minute since I've heard the name of that song 🤣 I was like 7 basically when it first came out
I mean what do you study
This song should’ve been minor in the first place. 😭

Microphone recording might actually be better and less distorted if you spoke less enthusiastically.. might suit the content better as well !
