Welcome to our adventure. We are a family of five that moved from Portland Oregon to outside the city limits of Conway Arkansas. Join us as we start our dream on our new property and grow our farm. Our goal is to go from being so reliant on the things in this world to enjoying the simple things.

Try not to let the yeast and salt touch. Salt will kill the yeast. It's fine that it touches once it's being mixed with the other ingredients.

After waiting to see the finished results, although your family clearly enjoyed the bread. I would have like to have seen the texture of the loaf. Which could only be seen once the loaf is cut. And they did that for you. We deserve a do over.

Can you double the recipe for a two or three pound loaf?

Thanks for the recipe. To make fresh sourdough do I need to take equal proportions of water and flour and just keep it overnight?

If you mean making the starter, that process involves equal parts flour and water, approximately, which are allowed to develop a natural yeast and lactobacteria culture over several days minimum, with daily discards and feedings until the culture becomes active. You can accelerate this by using some commercial yeast to start and letting it grow for a day or so, but it takes longer for the lactobacteria to develop and give the starter that sour flavor.

I could do a video on this if you would like. I'm about to start a new starter, should I video the process?

@@barkerfamilyfarms6482 Yes definitely. It will be interesting to see how many days it would take the starter to get sour. Thank you
