My favorite from her. I love how haunting her songs are. And this performance is just too good. How can she sound so good while playing the guitar like that? 🤯♥️♥️
I remember the nights I watched you lay sleeping Your body gripped by some far away dream Well I was so scared and so in love then And so lost in all of you that I had seen But no one ever talked in the darkness No voice ever added fuel to the fire No light ever shone in the doorway Deep in the hollow of earthly desires But if in some dream there was brightness If in some memory some sort of sigh And flesh be revived in the shadows Blessed our bodies would lay so entwined And I will oh I will not forget you Nor will I ever let you go I will oh I will not forget you I remember when you left in the morning at daybreak So silent you stole from my bed To go back to the one who possesses your soul And I back to the life that I dread So I ran like the wind to the water Please don't leave me again I cried And I drew bitter tears at the ocean But all that came back was the tide But no one ever talked in the darkness No voice ever added fuel to the fire No light ever shone in the doorway Deep in the hollow of earthly desires But if in some dream there was brightness If in some memory some sort of sigh And flesh be revived in the shadows Blessed our bodies would lay so entwined And I will oh I will not forget you Nor will I ever let you go I will oh I will not forget you
"I threw bitter tears at the ocean, but all that came back was the tide." It's hard for me to pick out favorite lyrics from all the beloved songs in the world, but this line has been doing it for me for over 25 years. And this is a fine performance.
You too?! That punches me right in the heart every time. I used to listen to this when I was on active duty in Hawaii and the love of my life was so far away across the ocean... and things weren't working out... I used to look out at the ocean and try to imagine bridging all that distance and that line just resonated with me in my soul. But, happy ending, we ended up getting married, having three kids and we just celebrated 22 years of marriage.
Apparently she has not performed anything from Solace since '99? What a shame if that is true. I saw her at Massey Hall sometime mid-90s and no artist could ever came close to her magic, then or now.

I remember the nights I watched you lay sleeping
Your body gripped by some far away dream
Well I was so scared and so in love then
And so lost in all of you that I had seen
But no one ever talked in the darkness
No voice ever added fuel to the fire
No light ever shone in the doorway
Deep in the hollow of earthly desires
But if in some dream there was brightness
If in some memory some sort of sigh
And flesh be revived in the shadows
Blessed our bodies would lay so entwined
And I will oh I will not forget you
Nor will I ever let you go
I will oh I will not forget you
I remember when you left in the morning at daybreak
So silent you stole from my bed
To go back to the one who possesses your soul
And I back to the life that I dread
So I ran like the wind to the water
Please don't leave me again I cried
And I drew bitter tears at the ocean
But all that came back was the tide
But no one ever talked in the darkness
No voice ever added fuel to the fire
No light ever shone in the doorway
Deep in the hollow of earthly desires
But if in some dream there was brightness
If in some memory some sort of sigh
And flesh be revived in the shadows
Blessed our bodies would lay so entwined
And I will oh I will not forget you
Nor will I ever let you go
I will oh I will not forget you

Omg …. Me too… since I ever first heard that line or this wonderful treasure of a song.
Ridiculously talented on both piano and guitar. Showcasing some sublime strumming technique here.
i loved solace
She is incredible, I could listen forever
Love this song and this concert is so amazing. 2019 still loving it
The only crime is this concert isn’t available on blu ray. Hopefully soon.
I love this song. I think about it whenever i am at the beach
Still absolutely breathtaking 💚🧡💜❤️
Looking forward to seeing her perform tonight in Rochester Hills, MI for the third time in many years. Her voice is still amazing!
I was unfamiliar with this song, but wow, I am totally blown away.
I play guitar a lot and have tried to play this song. Its really difficult. Yet Sarah makes its look effortless. I’m so jealous of her talent.
So relaxed and so catchy at the same time.. One can wonder: «What’s her secret?» Talent, I guess..
Absolutely enchanting.
1hokufan i saw Sarah in concert in palm beach 99 she's the best!
