1) Reusable thermoses/cups have been around longer than most coffee shops; But, 2, if these degradable new cups get thrown away, they will unfortunately be stuck inside a plastic trash bag for aeons.
We should've been pursuing sustainable foodware a long time ago. It is our responsibility as humans to leave it as pristine as possible, We went for 150 years ruining our planet thinking, now it is on the verge of collapsing. It shouldn't be a new thing anymore, every human being has an equal responsibility. Why is Japan of all people the most considerate on the planet, why can't we all be like them. I live across three houses from an in and out and on every weekend I find my street litters with trash from couples who park and eat their in and out in the dark and have sex afterwards. These new generation of kids, have zero respect about other peoples property and the trash they throw out their window. I almost have to go outside and take a picture of their license plate and then they come out and ask what im doing then I say im reporting their littering to the authorities and then they actually pick up their trash and dont do it again. I could care less if they have sex on my street, but dont litter on my street or anyone else.
Sooooo…only $2.00 on top of the $8.00 cup of coffee, 5% “health fee”, 20% expected tip, tax…..so just $13 bucks for a cup of coffee?! Got it! 🤷🏼♂️🙄
underrated comment
So, NOT "disposable.". A reusable cup that breaks at the slightest tap of a spoon, or if you HOLD IT too hard! ..Got it.

I think if cafés used single use cups only it would make such a big difference
I knew an Indian was behind this 😂.
we used to have paper cups before all the plastic
Just use pla lined cups
Are these geniuses ever gonna get smarter. PAPER CUPS and then plant trees. As "sustainable" as it gets. "Problem" solved.
