The pendant is very beautiful. A very pleasing result with the colour variation of the gold and the symmetrical bubbles! When I saw the thumbnail of this video I thought "wow, are those (bubbles) seed beads"? I've never heard of the Royal Gold glass before - I will certainly be on the lookout for it! Terrific video - thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and expertise!
Yes, you are absolutely right - the gold has burnt off a bit too much in this because I fired it for too long. It would have been better with less time, however I have seen some amazing results where pieces have been over-fired - not something I tend to do intentionally though ;)
I'm looking at getting into glass fusing and was thinking of getting a microwave kiln as a starter. But I've heard that you shouldn't use the microwave you cook your food in to do fusing with. Is this correct? Will I need to buy another microwave, if I want to use it for fusing??
Hello Debbie I love your videos they are very nice I would love to start fusing glass in microwave it is very different from clay jewelry but I am having trouble finding a supplier for a microwave kiln in Canada since customs is expensive when you buy from other countries so would you know of any suppliers in Canada, thank you for sharing these very nice videos.
In the fused glass class I took, we used Elmers glue with a toothpick. Placing a micro spot of glue helps to hold projects together while transporting.
Hi,Dee, I just love your tutorials.I've learned to fuse by watching all of them. I just fused two abstract pieces for test fires. And just did a circle dichroic piece. On your piece was the firing too high causing the fading of the gold? Is it best lower the temp for first firing of dicro glass? I'm in a rural area so I don't have class benefits, it's all by your videos.
Glad you like it. I guess the bubbles do look a bit like seed beads. I always joke with my students in our workshops - I tell them that they have to pay me $10 for every bubble they make because they are very special. Now symmetrical ones.....hmmm......well that would have be at least $100, lol!
Love the videos but the sound is horrible, I have all volume controls set to the highest settings and you can barely here what she is talking about. Sad, because I like this channel. :-(
On the rest of your videos you need a close up of the pendant or whatever you making maybe a overhead view we see the pendant but it's not a close up you weren't all that trouble to do the video and the show how you did it but the end results it's not showed very well

Very pretty. Why do you need clear glass on top?
