I hope this gets many views. Learning Japanese by studying songs is my favourite way to learn because then you can try to sing along to the song which is always lot of fun. (Even though my pronunciation is probably laughably bad :)
I will come back to this many times for sure.
I kinda think, it's not that effective, because Japanese people tend to adapt their language to the songs and rythms and not vise-versa.
In my opinion a song can completely alter the original pronunciation of a word.
Also you get no /not as much of a feeling for how the setences "flow".
Omg, I want to learn as many song as I could.

This is just perfect!!! Helps us know how to pronounce the words correctly and absorb the language more effectively. I can memorize this song(after weeks of singing it while watching the lyrics and trying to copy how it was pronounced in the song) but I don't really understand a word.

Really catchy songs from anime, such as Blue Bird, as someone mentioned, are great for this sort of series, as people sometimes already happen to know the lyrics but not their meaning yet. This video is amazing ! I've been using songs to learn for a bit now and always noticed that i would recognize the first parts of a lot of words, but never the endings when reading along. Never realized its because they make them "poetic"/ "fancy" and use non-common speech.
