Instalive with Sairish Hussain, author of The Family Tree

Talking to Sairish Hussain is always a delight and being able to discuss The Family Tree has been the most wonderful note to end my instalive author chats for 2020.
We talked about how Sairish got published, the inspirations behind her plot and the characters and place she’ chose to situate her story in, about writing a counter-narrative and resisting stereotypes about British Pakistani Muslims whilst also delivering a story that has many universal themes such as homelessness, drug/alcohol abuse, and mental health, and so much more!
The Family Tree has been shortlisted for the @costabookawards and has been received with great reviews by a diverse demographic of readers.
