- The Colorado Rockies are stuck in a bad spot. In a division they've never won in their 30 year history and it's not getting any easier. The Dodgers have Shohei and others with an endless payroll, the Diamondbacks just won the NL and have a young team only getting better, and the Padres have major star power themselves.
So it's time to try something completely new to try and overcome these odds: A Draft Only Rebuild.
A staple of the channel, the Draft Only Rebuild challenges us to build the team up using only the Rookie and Rule 5 drafts after we tear down the ENTIRE 40 man roster after the first season.
One major twist added for this year: Trades. I am allowing 3 trades in this series, but only for prospects, and only for one prospect per trade. So we will need to time them right and make sure they hit to ensure we don't waste them.

I'd definitely take a hitter with the first pick. Since you are in COL, I agree that the power guy should be above the contact guy. Some of those sleeper pitchers you've scouted will do just fine, even if they later move to a bullpen role.
Yeah the top of this draft is too good at hitter to go pitching at 3. Between Morillo and Do we are almost guaranteed to add some serious power with our first pick, which is exciting.

I don't know about generational, but should have some really good future starters.
Murillo has average speed rn and projects to have average to above average speed. There are plenty of ss who aren’t super fast anyways. It’s more about positioning, quickness, and reaction time. I hope this doesn’t deter u from this kid cus he is an absolute gem imo
Morillo is a beast prospect for sure, best in the class. Unfortunately the speed projections in these prospect cards are usually terrible, as speed rarely goes up very much if at all. Even if he plays another position he's number one on the board.
MAN. This draft is better than, like, the last 5 I've seen at least! Tons of legit talents. I'm lucky to find 60 overall players with ~85 potential.
Yeah looking strong for sure. Nice to have a strong class to start a franchise.
@@fiendfranchisefirst attempt at your scouting strategy gave me a lot of duds but my highest overall draft pick was a 67 overall pitcher

Murillo do mcgaffick Ramirez possibly Kyle brown in that order. I like the same guys as u for sure
If you can get Morillo at 3 and Do with your second pick youll have a monster draft

In my Rockies franchise for MLB 23 Dollander became andace.
Nice! If he plays like he did in this episode he'll probably become an Ace in this one too. He was awesome.
@@fiendfranchise It did take a couple of season though he was a slower burn. He was one of the few pitchers I kept to his late 30's he held up normally they hit 30 and start declining in game.

Defensively he projects above average to well above average too? I’m not sure why ur saying he’s not fast enough and isn’t a good enough defender? His fielding rn is playable in the mlb and he’s only 18. Like right now his fielding is low 60s and so is arm strength and accuracy and speed is mid 50s which in this game is average. U have to remember he is 18 and look at his projections cus if u do u would see what I see whuh is a stud. Top 5 player in the draft guaranteed. Future low to high 80s fielder with high 70s to low 80s arm mid 70s reaction mid 70s speed. If he becomes as good as his projections say he will be a top 10defensuve ss in the mlb and with his bat he is a generational player. Please don’t sleep on this
I don't like looking at the projections, I look at the current status. I don't think the game does a good job of accurately projecting a player.
