I miss it out there. I was told that the Lick part was from the natural salt licks that deer & such came to & that Al Capone frequented the area back in the original gambling era. There might be lithium in the water, but it definitely is loaded with sulphur that you could smell as soon as you came into West Baden & that was touted to have the medicinal properties through baths & consumption. I'm sure I wouldn't recognize it today.

I think the smell when you drive into West Baden is the water treatment plant. However, the smell of Sulphur is very strong in Springs Valley.
