Carnival because I've always went to Carnival cruises only but I'm going to MSC merviglia

@@TravelDetours oh dang you gotta try out Carnival Mardi Gras, when i went to flamingo restaurant they had the best people that work there and they had the best food

just off a 7 day. didnt even get to the water park! so much to see and do. loved everything and the foooood! 100 would sail again with MSC and this ship

That was my first for them too. It was the perfect test cruise. It does have a different style to NCL air other mostly American boats but that’s what I loved about it
Really enjoyed this. We did virtuosa last year which is pretty much exactly the same. Agree galleria area is like vegas. Love your style snappy but smooth! Spot on

Where were all the people? My mind is blown at how huge that ship is. I can not even imagine it. Seems like a city. Sure am getting excited about my first cruise!
I did the walk the morning when everyone was on the private island! That way I kinda had the place to myself!

I would love your opinion. I am booked on a cruise in Oct. FYI, are you aware the ship leaves from Brooklyn, not Manhattan? I was not.
I did know that cause we were looking into them last week! We want to see the Statue of Liberty from a cruise ship!
Never been on one of them but I do want to go!!! Plus an easy flight to NYC
The MSC website just says NY on the itinerary so I assumed it left from Manhattan, but then found out after I booked that it's actually Brooklyn. I live in New Jersey and getting to Brooklyn is a lot harder than Manhattan. I wish their website and itinerary would have been a little more clear. I'm sure I would have figured it out sooner or later but Manhattan is definitely my preference instead of going all the way to Brooklyn.

We've been cruising since the 90s. It's sad what has happened to the industry. Used to be such a great vacation now they nickel and dime you for everything. Long lines. Massive crowded ships. The food, especially the buffet, is par at best. $15 drinks. Fights,rude people on some lower end lines. I wish people could go back and see what cruising used to be. The care and attention to detail. Classiness to the smallest detail. Is it still worth going. Yes, on some lines like Cunard, Holland, viking, ECT.
What about older ships or princess. It sounds like you went on a carnival cruise. Lol

Was it on full capacity? Will be our 2nd cruise, our first was during COVID on RC it was only half capacity. Thinking how will be under full , we are sailing on mereglivia this coming may.
I think it was about 2/3rds full.
Sounds like there is a lot to do on the boat, if you don't drink where is the ideal hang-out location?
Still Hung out in the back the boat in the Adults area! Loved it there and the inclosed area!

I believe someone said it’s going to Brooklyn but please double check that. I cruised on her out of Florida!
How was the internet experience, please? Website seems to temper expectations by
stating the speed for streaming isn't like your home.
From previous experience on other ships, no the internet is not good but I will check this one out!

Can you plug in an HDMI cable to the TV?
Never had a reason to try but I do know it was a smart tv on this boat so there should be an HDMI input on the back... On the other ship, it was not a smart tv so I think it will depend on age of ship or when they last refurbished it..

Was there a strict dress code? Seeing things about a dress code online
Other than you need shoes and shirts inside, that’s all I noticed !
We went everywhere in shorts and flip flops . I believe the higher end restaurants that cost extra require shoes but don’t know about pants .
I just got off the MSC Meraviglia and never going again..
Slow service (waiting on drinks)
Subpar food
Short 30min or less dj sessions
No atmosphere in adult deck
Stupid games all day in main pool
Tight Casino
Cheesy pool parties
Not my style at all
That’s the greatest part of cruising. There are ships for everyone! Have you tried NCL? I liked the more laid back part of MSC. But for a more jumping lifestyle NCL!
@@TravelDetours Bad is just bad. People shouldn’t be misguided into thinking the MSC experience is acceptable, it’s not.
There were parts that I really enjoyed and some I did not! I think for a $300 vacation I was over all happy! Hope you find the right cruise line for you! I’m happy to sail MSC again in June on another boat!
