This is the kind of home and decor I love. When looking at UA-cam to see home tours, there were many modern sterile homes with all new furnishings that were just not my style. I came across your's and found just what I like in my own home.

Yay! This perfunctory (and sterile 👍🏼) way of decorating separates us from our creativity, making it easy to copy and regurgitate determined style. Better to dig deep into our souls and ask question we may not readily be able to answer. But it’s worth thinking about! What colors make me feel happy? What shapes do I love? What are the things I look at every day in my house that make me uncomfortable, sad or obligated!!? What needs to go? What period in time gets me excited? What are the elements to that time period or style that revs my engine?! We are all so much more creative than we allow ourselves to be - and our guts will lead the way if we only take time to listen. I’m thinking a video on this might be coming soon!! I could live in the library. Every detail speaks to me. All the little animals. the sheep on the side table with the brass lamp and birds. the wall paper, the patterned tapestry pillows. Pure charm . Everything I love in one intimate space. The pastoral paintings are beautiful. Tommy's room is every mans dream. The leather sofas. The glass and iron table and dry bar. Wow. Then my jaw dropped at the Spanish guest room. I love a darker , moodier space, so was captured with the prints and colors and pattern. Perfection! THe wallpapers are a study in personalization . Just love every single space. I loved when you said "playing house: ... that is my phrase for my home too. Love the process, the journey, the wonderful found treasures that are unique to us. Will it work with the pattern on the wall ? Not sure 😳well, your home is soooo cozy and so inviting ! My home is styled in European Cottage ! Warm woods, beams, copper, , rock , antique chandeliers galore!blues and whites, reds and greens too ! Open hutches, baskets galore! We are kindred spirits ❤ take care, Cindy
Your home sounds absolutely lovely, I can almost picture it you describe it so fetchingly well. There are still several projects on the table, one of which is the back splash - which was Tommy’s choice as a single guy lol! But I can see doing a very simple limestone with a rack and copper pans. We sit nestled in Northern California above Sacramento, amongst huge beautiful oak trees and plush landscaping on three glorious acres ! ❤️🌈we have wild turkeys and see occasional deer too! Just LOVE this paradise 🌺🌷🌸we are truly blessed and are very grateful ! Just completed our small ADU guest house ❤️SO fun to decorate! We put wide knotty pine throughout and the kitchen and fireplace in old used brick ! I decorated in a Ralph Lauren cabin inspired theme😄jui chose red shutters and window boxes out front full of Ivy and white geraniums! It looks sooo European! 😂just completed the front stick fence with arbor inspired by the fences all throughout Carmel ! So , family and friends will love to stay and occasional air B and B to recoup money spent ! We hope !😫😫😫😳😂😂anyway, I think the copper would look fabulous behind your stove under your French hood !❤️❤️❤️fun chatting with you !🌷🌸🌺

Sooo gorgeous! You and your home. ;) (I grew up in Orange County, BTW.) Oh my goodness, the kitchen dining and courtyard are spectacular as well as all the different outdoor zones! I lost my Mom last year right before Christmas and since my Dad wants to clean out, I've taken many of her things back to Mexico with me. Very comforting and they are beautiful in my home. It's not always easy to merge lives later in life but you have created a wonderful and tranquil home together. Enjoy!
