One thing that proves the little girl is a Ghanaian is how she used come to form a sentence. She said “ could you please come here? That is a Ghanaian. The emphasis on the word “please”
Well, Ghanaian English speaking is very different from all the African countries. However, there r certain things that r not pronounced very well in ghana either. Example, pastor, blood, Google, nurse, and some few other things. Don't get me wrong, Ghanaians speak or pronounce English words very well, but there r some holes in some areas. Trust me. I know this when I traveled to the state. Nobody can tell I'm African because I don't have the typical African accent. But they found a little pronunciation error in some of my words when I spoke. Therefore, Ghanaians r not perfect either.
So let me start with the English language itself. There are rules that 'governs' its pronunciations. You guys are Right with the marvelous. But mostly Ghanaians (or the rest of the English speaking world) don't accentuate the ''ve'' that's why the Ghanaian own sounds marvlous. The other is Google and goggle. Google is okay as the search engine, when one says ''guggle''. The other goggle is referring to spectacles. That is pronounced as such. So I believe you are mixing the two.
I love your intelligent and articulate daughter. Marvellous, Ghana speaks phonetics whilst Naija uses the sounds of the consonants Ghanaian illiterates call is goggle
If u guys want to learn well-educated English pronunciation in Ghana, listen to English radio and television stations. Also, when the president gives his speech, Ghanaians speaks very well English after they finish university, but she can't really pick it from the streets. Unless she's going to international sch in Accra. And remind u that Accra and kumasi people do have very different pronunciation.
She is just in grade 6. By her level and standard you will agree with me she is speaking well. As for her getting to the university level and having a gpod command of English here in Ghana, only time will tell.
Mandan please just listen to your daughter and you will go far. Because she lives in Ghana she speaks like westerners (American or an English person). The whole of Africa Ghana has got the best accent and is a fact period.
Some older Ghanaians in their 80's now pronounce some words like Nigerians eg Mud, generation, hundred etc. It is the Scottish Accent. Nigerians have embraced that till today. The Scottish colonial masters came with their accent
Are you sure? 😂😂😂 Do you know Jerry John Rawlings? He was Ghanaian and Scottish. He doesn't sound like a Nigerian. No, he doesn't. There's a famous movie actress in Kumasi and she's Ghanaian and Scottish. She doesn't speak like that. Her name is Vivian Jill. You can go and look her up.
@Picklypatch Who told you Jerry Rawlings grow up with his Scottish side? If you don't know something, don't jump into it. Rawlings grew up with a single mother. His best friend was a son of Guy Warren a Ghanaian musician known as Ghanaba, who had returned from the USA. That is where he got his accent from. The fact that Vivian Jill Dad has Scottish ancestry just like myself, does not mean you must have Scottish accent. Accent comes from living amongst Scottish speakers.
@@user-ug1sl3xy9r Massa, stop lying to people on social media. No Ghanaian has a Nigerian accent. Unless that person may have stayed in Nigeria for quite some time then it's possible they had built the accent from there. Which colonial master was a Scottish? Nigerian English sounds a bit like a Portuguese accent with English I think it’s because the Portuguese were at the coastline of Nigeria longer than the English appeared
I'm a Ghanaian, and i can tell u that the way Ghanaians pronounce pastor is wrong and not right in Nigeria pronunciation either. Therefore, both countries r wrong.
Sir I don't care about which country is right or wrong. If you had paid attentionto the video content you would have noticed it is a comparison of how both countries pronounce words. I am not here to find faults but the humour of life. Peace.
It's really sad, this video. We Nigerians correct the small percentage of Nigerians that actually say Goggle! So, when you pick a certain demographic as your reference, it's inappropriate. In Ghana, where I also lived for a while, there are a lot of people who have less than basic communication in the English language. You are simply celebrating how much you truly do not know about Nigeria. If your position was true, it would be evident in several other ways, which would include success on the world stage.
There is nothing sad and inappropriate about the video. Don't make nothing out of a video that is not intended to humiliate any class of people. Your projection not mine. Thank you.
I'm a Ghanaian, and I'm sorry, but they r not pronouncing Google well in Ghana. Google Word is very, very new to Ghanaians and all Africa countries. Also, it depends where u live in Ghana becuz the pronunciation in Accra is different from the people in kumasi in the Ashanti region.

Ghanaians learn phonetics! On an Un are not the same !!!! S-un , S-on.
That's true
In phonics the letters keep changing their sounds (or) has many sounds. Sometimes o as in for, sometimes ( e )as in word some (a) as in doctor
Naija English was better many years ago when ghana teachers used to go there to teach
Yes. I remember my late mother telling us about her Ghanaian teachers back in the days. Wow
tell your daughter to learn vowel and consonants, she will understand and know how to pronounce it well
You rather need it cause Ghana English in dictionary

Wow, Is this so? I am hearing this for the first time.
Nigeria pronounced words the way it written, I mean the way they see it
That is it.
Dictionary phonetic, when u find "or" in the middle of a word, it is pronounced "ő" but when it appears at the end of a word, it is pronounced "a "
That is where there is a difference in pronunciation betweenboth countries🤣🤣
Sun and son are known as homophones
Yes they are. Thank you
Google is "gurgle"
ˈdɪd͡ʒɪtl̩ not digitl. Digitl pronunciation is wrong unless you are inventing different one
You allow a child like this to paint her mouth? We don't do that here in Ghana
Then I guess I must be in another Ghana where I see it.
The words she pronounced like google and the letter G is not what we are thought in school.
Probably that is how her school teacher pronounce's it
Yes it is.
I'm a Ghanaian, and i can tell u that the way Ghanaians pronounce pastor is wrong and not right in Nigeria pronunciation either. Therefore, both countries r wrong.
Hmnnn.
Why don't you guys consult google for the correct pronunciations.
The video is about how both countries pronounce it. Thanks anyway.
Yes I know, but they demonstrated disagreement between them and that was my point.
