Nothing has changed. ANC+MK+EFF=64%. The ANC may play ball with the centre-right for a while but eventually Ramaphosa will be kicked out and Mashatile will get the old band back together.

That will be chernobyl for SA i doudt if the ANC funders would allow that
Disgrace? you people are ignorant, the real looters in SA are the Stellenbosh mafias, they are the ones controlling all politicians, they are responsible for load shedding, state capture, rand manipulation. the ANC, the DA, the EFF and the MPC, they have been working together this whole time, the elections were rigged so the ANC could form a coalition with the DA, think about it, all the parties i mentioned are not complaining about the results because they were bribed by the stellenbosh mafias.
@shafiyaalgiquadra1105 Notice how now people are talking positively about the ANC and Rams?🤔 The switch up in interesting now that Zuma is in the picture
@@PrincessVelaryon eyy, the ANC is not so bad and ramaphosa is now the man SA needs despite being the worst President in the history of SA...🤯seems what SA needs has nothing to do with SA.
REALLY like this podcast and I follow it daily, but can someone please teach Chris online etiquette. He is often looking down during panel discussions (probably looking at his phone), while people are speaking etc. Disrespectful to the audience and panel members. Look into the camera and realise people are watching this.
Ultimately the country has to be governed by sane people. ANC + MPC parties in coalition is most likely the best option. All other options will produce chaos.
These results are a fair warning to all political parties and candidates not get too comfortable and take the electorate for granted - All Politicians need to focus on enhancing the lives of all South African citizens to maintain their positions in government !
A federal system just kicks the can down the road. Eventually, the provinces who do well will be swamped by refugees from other provinces who will bring their voting habits with them and outvote the locals.
We will now be moving into the federalist area. I believe a lot of talking is already moving in that direction. It is clear it is unlikely that any one party will dominate the National scene soon. This election has segmented close to the real support groups in all areas. Gauteng is the only province where the national demographic will continue to be displayed.

Confidence and supply makes no sense. It says more about the IRR as primarily an ideological advocacy outfit than think tank and / or centr3 for risk analysis. How do you influence policy under confidence and supply? If you veto policies and law, why would the ANC keep the agreement. Hermann Pretorius was talking this nonsense about the DA keeping its symbolic opposition status in a confidence and supply arrangement - whilst you presume on every major matter to the ANC it has to supply or risk being part of the problem of a parliament struggling to pass legislation. It is time for ideological purity to make way and roll up the sleeves and take responsibility for saving / running RSA with skin in the game. A coalition deal is the best way to get influence and secure something more permanent than flimsy confidence of supply. Should the ANC drop the DA under a coalition ageeement it will be harder than to just shift blame to the DA under confidence of supply. A big part of rescuing RSA in the long run also depend on changing institutions and the civil service - something it cannot do under confidence and supply.
That will never happen here in south Africa Jenet. We don't want Israel 🇮🇱 2.0 in south Africa.. we have problems we will fix them. But what is low on white people side, is that people from KZN can't vote free, meaning their vote or choiceis not respect
I'm astonished at the actual low voter turnout, is this subscribed to the youth feeling hopeless, is it general apathy, or does it have much to do with the IEC's bungling? Also, a huge amount of spoilt votes, why stand for four or five hours just to spoil your vote, it's ludicrous.
Can't see why everyone is so excited about the "new country." Has everyone forgotten about the Zuma corruption scandals!!!!!!! It's just further downhill from here.
It would be interesting if, in another video, you did dive deeper into each parties ideological standpoints and why certain groups gravitate to each within the southa context.
We are thankful to President Zuma for once again rescuing us from the maws of apartheid.😢The ANC-DA coalition was almost assured without the advent of MK.
Thanks @The Daily Friend for the great, in-depth analysis as always! All I can say is that I just hope the DA makes the right decision!
A New South Africa you say?
So if the ANC forms a coalition with either the MK or EFF...then They are back at full strength.
So what has changed?
So untrue. You want the country broken flat on its face.

The proof is in the pudding…will the lights go on 24/7??? Or is it back to load shedding? That will be proof of South Africa’s future! 👍 or 👎
We are back at the 'Zuma must fall' space.
This time we are not falling for it, we saw Libya...

Agreed. The way these coalitions are chosen will decide the fate of the country for the most part. We cannot really survive 5 years of ANC+EFF

What happened in the WC and KZN suggests a federal system would make sense.
I agree. It's clear that the rest of the country outside of WC and KZN just do not want change.

@@robertraine1953 Exactly. In the long term, the WCers living blissfully in their DA bubble (and I include family in that) are going to see it popped.

How would the PA (ultra right) and EFF (ultra left) work in coalition with the ANC ? Reads like a sh#t show.
