  • Born into a noble family in 1684 in modern-day Angola, Kimpa Vita was trained as a Nganga marinda, or healer. As a religious leader of the Antonianism movement, a fusion of Christianity and central African religious practices, she attempted to unify the kingdom of Kongo. For a short period, she succeeded. But her religious activities made her a threat to other leaders, and Kimpa Vita was put to death by Pedro IV of Kongo in 1706. But Kimpa Vita's legacy lives on: today she is referred to as the mother of African unity.

There are so much in African history, unfortunately we only know a little about it. It's high time for African producers and directors to produce films based on own history.... there's so much to tell. Thanks DW for highlighting

Please next time try to get your fact's straight!.Lord Kimpa Vita was the way but she was burnt to ashes because she stood for her people just as Steve Biko,Patrick Lumumba,
Tom Mboya,T Sankara etc did.On a spiritual level she saw a vision of an African religion that was brought into her kingdom in a distorted form.Middle East was coined in 1901 and Israel was created in May 14 1948.Maybe i am wrong in my perception but the truth here is that Africans must see the real truth that will set us free.
Only an African will come into this world through an African woman will emancipate Africans from western dogma. For the sky, it's unoccupied.Nobody is coming for us Africans from the sky.
We are the ones to set each other free.First solution investing into industrial farming and stop importing food while living on the most fertile soil on planet earth.
Help countries with drought while having in mind we were one until Berlin conference in 1884-1885.Seek your root and see the truth for self😇😊😇😊🌍

How could she be a prophet if she came after John the Baptist?

She wasnt a prophet. She was just a traditional ancestory spiritual priest from KONG KINGDOM She prayed, faste and connected to YAWEH through the tradional spirit practice. She was the person that found SIMON TOKO KIMBANGU in the bushes as a baby. But the portugese army burnt her alive whilst holding the baby that they believe was SIMON in her arms.

Simon Kimbangu who they thought her baby might be was John the Baptist. He use to sign his name as John the Baptist. The story with the priest of Baal and Elijah happen with Simon Kimbangu and Catholic priest. He was sentenced to death for saying Jesus was Black then to life after serving 30 years in prison they murdered him. When Jesus came back they murdered him too. Kimbangu and Toko raised the dead and healed the sick.
