I saw Norm Macdonald in the late 90s at a college show, and he riffed on the word “sack” for like fifteen minutes. it absolutely DESTROYED me. I was literally on the floor. He was special.
Genuine laughs, good comedy. Not an uptight, obnoxious, unfunny, politically puppeted late show with fake laughs.. Man we need Dave Conan and Jay all back 😁
I'm always up for a Norm story. However, Dana and Conan riffing on the God rest his soul bit had me in stitches. This was the funniest episode of anything in a while. Dana and Conan should do more together
It's tough to swallow the fact that, that ol' chunk of coal is gone. But then again, I might be good at swallowing because I don't own a doghouse. God rest his soul.
Please continue including the clips to things they are referencing to, it's more efficient than me going through and searching for it lol thanks Team Coco!
Can you guys please release the red neck comic bit from this episode . I died laughing when I heard in the podcast .Pls more clips from this episode. Thanks
Not just clips. Upload full clips pretty please 🙏 . It's Dana effin Carvey. Dana Carvey out of context is funny, but with all the context is even funnier. Too bad his Fantastic podcast only lasted 7 months. I love that show and his family stories
I like the way Conan takes advantage of this mostly audio medium...to close his eyes while he is talking. Heightens the focus. And no TV advertisers to complain about it.
I can never stop watching norm MacDonald on UA-cam I've loved his comedy since As long as I can remember I'm 41. I end my days With his jokes before I sleep. R.I.P Norm
I really think the thing that separated Norm from 99.99% of comedians is he wasn’t trying to make the audience laugh - he was trying to make himself laugh. And God bless him for that ❤
Yesterday I watched clips of Conan riding a water buffalo, giving himself a concussion while racing Teri Hatcher and getting dropped on his head by a musical guest. We'll never have TV like that again.
Mayim Bialik (and I assume others of the Jewish persuasion) says, "a blessing on his/her memory". Which I think is so nice. It also means that one wouldn't say it about an historical figure b/c we can't *remember* them. But Jimmy Stewart (and his horse) we *can* still watch his movies and remember him through those, so we could say it about him. That's my take anyway.
I was at the New Years comedy show that had Kevin and Dana as headliners and Kevin just phoned it in; all of his jokes were stuff he'd said on SNL or not far past it. Dana rescued the event with a lot of new bits and just being relevent.
Not sure if you will see this Conan, but it was surreal to be able to enjoy a meal at a table next to yours at that cafe yesterday morning in West Seattle. I didnt want to bug ya since you were doing brunch with your family and you are a busy guy. My girlfriend and I love your work! Ps. I was the dude in the Cannibal Corpse shirt 😎🔥
I automatically assume that anyone who actually likes Sona is fairly young and wasn't watching Conan in the 90's. She's the absolute worst thing to happen to any iteration of Conan's shows and is a veritable black hole of comedy. She contributes nothing to the comedy, either as a comedian (which I get that she is just an assistant with a mic) or a straight man.
@@WorstUsernamEvr I've been watching Conan since 95 during the early Brian McCann/Brian Stack days and I like Sona. She can be funny like in the workplace sketches, the HR one for example, but if you don't like her that's your opinion. Comedy is subjective after all. But not everyone who likes Sona is in a specific age demographic.
@@WorstUsernamEvr Guess you automatically assume wrong. I just assume that since you´re literally the first commenter I ever recognized with such harsh negative feelings towards Sonas appearances. But then again I´m only watching Conan Clips (from all eras) and reading comments since 2010 (when I was 27).
@@WorstUsernamEvr Yes, feel the same. Not to be a hater or whatever but-I've been watching Conan since the beginning & I fear I'll never see him again w/o this untalented, unfunny person who's somehow managed to attach herself to his hip & so thoroughly embed herself into his life. She doesn't belong there, doesn't belong on camera. 100% boring, self-serving person with no talent & nothing to contribute. I don't understand why she's like his security blanket now or something, he enjoys her for some mysterious reason. She has her own Wikipedia page & says she's an author for writing "How to be the world's worst assistant" or something like that. I think she's huge on love of herself & opportunism & low on talent. Wish she wasn't there. I'd like to cont. to watch Conan any way I can, but I don't want to see her so I guess I've just lost him. Can't really enjoy watching him anymore w/her there.
I really liked Norm McDonald's take on O.J. and M.J. Dana and Kevin were always there to pump me up. Even though I'm not really a girlie man. I'm just a little out of shape.
I paused the video of this on the master shot. Then I listened to the podcast while staring at the paused master shot. It was kinda like watching it on video.
Norm said is best once, What's funnier than trying your best to make someone laugh, and they don't like it. Leaning into the spitefulness of that truly is funny, but like philosophical level of comedy, being deeply funny. Norm would always zig when everyone was zagging and change the moment he was moving in the same direction as others.
Dana Carvey's Mickey Rooney impersination lol ..."I m just glad I like girls ....I was a staaar ..baaam... in the wooorld...you hear me ? pffff " lol lol ..
I am a zookeeper in chicago and I regularly feed the hippos day old sausages so they have a taste of their home. I put strings on the sausages and swing them around the hippos they get so mad at me and scream but it's an obsession sometimes the hippos try and break out of their cages but I keep swinging those hotdogs in wide circles over their heads. Luckily my boss doesn't know I do this or my coworkers
Norm did that *to* David Spade on HS, poor Spade couldn't handle it, but Norm got under his skin, which was the objective. Same thing happened on Dennis Miller's show.
Always listening on Spotify, but why can't you do what Rogan does and make it a video podcast on Spotify!!!!! The gestures and expressions are part of the joy!
If one is not actively participating in the conversation, they shouldn't be open-mouth laughing into the microphone. Instead, be like a delicate geisha flower and _hehe_ behind your hand.

You saw his PG act then haha

One time Norm won a lot of money at the casino and then he threw it all into the water
I love the genuine laugh Conan gave to Kevin's "where's our waiter". I went back to watch his face again 😂😂

These edits of the actual footage they’re talking about into the podcast vids are really cool!

FRANK STALLONE.
I wish someone loved me the way Conan loved Norm.
I've heard the dana carvey episodes, I'm not kidding, like 30 times now. When i saw the notif and when i saw he returned i exclaimed loudly "Yeyyyy"
This episode was so funny I listened to it twice! Dana and Conan should do something together on a regular basis!
I saw Norm McDonald live at a comedy club in Austin, Texas in 2008. It was the most fun I ever had watching a standup comedian.

Why aren’t you uploading the video of the full interview?

Dana Carvey sounds like he can’t get rid of his Dennis Miller impersonation.
There’s cameras rolling. I take it there’s nowhere to watch these in full is there?
This was a perfect showcase for Carvey because he had a Robin Givens-esque incessant background laugh to mask the lack of humor in his jokes.
