I shoot 600 spines out of a 38# recurve barebow. Before buying a dozen of victory arrows I've shot skylon radius (ex name avalon classic) arrows uncut at 32" ready made. These seemed to fly ok out of the bow but could not get past a 255 score at 15m on a 40cm target face. After trying out some victory vap v1s on the first try I've scored 288 same distance same everything, except the victory shafts were cut to 30,5" and had the lightest tips 80gr installed. For me the left and right trajectory is spot on, however they are light so they hit a little high.
If you tune those arrows with a bare bow, I can pretty much tell you they will work !! You are taking all the fun out of archery! Turning it into a scientific nightmare !!!!! Maybe your trying to make the arrow compensate for your bad shooting !! If you're shooting all across the target face but your elevation is consistent, then it's your release !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One last thing, if you're competing indoors, then tune indoors. In and out doors are two different environments period!!
I was once told the other type of points you showed is the parabolic point which has a fatter front point that actually pushes the air away from shaft to reduce the effect on the arrow. If you have a chance to shoot both at long distance, can you share your thoughts on both points and if you see any difference in the arrow flights? Thanks!
hello, so you think that the arrow is actually weaker? well as I mentioned i tried 400 and 450 with 120 gr, 27 inch tubes and I found out that 450 give me better grouping on 50m. DL 28,5 at 59LB bowtech fanatic 3.0sd... the production chart shows that 400 should by fine, but it isnt. 450 works better. maybe it dippends on bow
Hello! I'm shooting a 55# bearpaw @ 30.5 inches...I was sold some 450s with an 80 gr insert and 100 grain broadheads....what do you think about that? Should I of got a stiffer spine?
Hello,I am shooting recurve string walking (sf forged+ 40#) with 500spine 120gr points at the moment. How do you thing I should set up my VAP 500 spine? I have the 140-30-20 points but for the moment everything is in the box. (Haven't put the arrows together yet)
O.k. i did all the job for you. Since you didn't continue with those arrows i set mine. I start like you with 140 gr to 500 spine and my arrows where flying to the right. Then I start reducing the grains 10 by 10 and i was completely disappointed with the arrows, until after i bought the 110 points i finally cut them to 90 gr. Yupiiiiiiii finally they are flying straight. I had to set the 500 spine as the 730s of my wife's. What I'm thinking is that is a 001 shaft from a company with no marks to the shaft except to the box, low price for 001 but wrong spine. I spend a lot of money and personal time for the quality and I am very disappointed. I don't trust the arrows any more and I will never buy another product of this company again.

On my compound I went from 400 to 350 but I increased the point weight. Same with the recurve. I need to test the VAP with 110 points.
