The background imagery in the first photo vs a plain white background seems to be a hot topic with etsy and google search. I recently watched one of etsys live video's where the discussion of the type of background came up and it seems that Etsy and Google prefer white backgrounds for the main photo to help your product rank high in search. I have noticed in my own shop I have done both with my backgrounds and my white backgrounds all do better then live images. With that being said I now use only white backgrounds in my first thumbnail image for promotion ranking purposes on etsy and Google search results.

I went from no sales to $20K in like 7 months😊 With that first shop, which was a few years ago, it seemed that etsy was encouraging sellers to offer free shipping (or free shipping after $35) and incentivizing this with a bit of a boost in search. Has this policy become outdated?
Hey Hannah, super helpful honest video as always - question, a lot of my products are all over print POD, so it’s been difficult finding mock-ups for them. Do you suggest I invest the money in samples and photograph them myself? I am also a professional photographer so I know I can do it well just wasn’t sure if it was worth the money and more the time vs. taking the printify mock-up and adding a background. Tysm 💛
there are a lot of places you can buy really good mock ups from so you do not have to shoot everything yourself! I would stay away from just relying on the printify ones def want to use some lifetyle background ones most people buy pre shot mock ups and add their design on them
Yes you just want to use mock ups to put your designs on that are competitive, honestly the ones on etsy are good! Check some out there@@simplyhealthwithmarissa
Hey Hannah, I love all the advice you give. It’s been super helpful. This is a question for you or anyone reading the comments that might know. I’ve set up a bunch of listings for poster wall art through Printify. I want to add the option to sell the digital art itself (for print at home) in the same listing for the Printify poster. I can’t figure it out. I’ve asked Etsy and Printify but they don’t know what I’m talking about, even after I show them actual examples. What am I missing? Thanks!

Great video! Since jewelry (or really anything) can be gifted as a birthday present, is it ok to put the Birthday as an occasion? I know under Holiday, Etsy says don’t do that unless it’s specifically tied to that holiday, but what about the Occasion?
you do not have to put the mug each time you could do story telling graphics about you your shop mission vission and why, you do not should not just post a picture of a mug 10 times use the space to set your self of for the best case scenario and story tell as much as you can

They say it still but for some niches it definitely hurts instead of helps!

mmm you can not in the same listing unless you manually send the digital down load, which you could explore trying
