This four part series is the best of its kind I seen. I have an 1190 Adventure (not the R). I absolutely love my bike but am too old and inexperienced to go very far off road. 500 pounds is a lot of motorcycle to throw around, and inevitably, pick up, especially if dropped down hill in soft dirt. What this series shows is the upper end of what is possible on a properly set-up 1190 Adventure R, ridden by professional/experts. I would have loved to have tried this when in my 20s and 30s (30 to 40 years ago) but there were a couple of obstacles. I didn't have the money, and the bikes didn't exist. . I'm quite sure I use my bike like a most people do their SUVs. They buy them with the idea that they *might* go off-road; they might use them to carry their gear to camp next to pristine mountain lakes - but...only a few owners (< 5%?) actually ever do. I occasionally ride dirt and gravel roads, gentle power line trails, and on some fairly steep grass hills between parking lots (now *that* impresses an audience), but the primary appeal of the bike is how much fun it is to ride on paved roads in the Southern Appalachian Mountains near where I live, and how well it tours. It's stable at speed, feels amazingly nimble, and stops so fast you feel like you could go over the handlebars. But I don't commute. I don't ride to get from A to B. I ride for fun. For me, what makes it fun is the power, which is breathtaking. Just stunning. Cycle World's road test reported a 10.6 quarter @ 130. I don't have the skill, or the impulse to terrify myself to replicate that, but that power is available in every situation. I enjoy merely knowing that, and sometimes using it. But great videos. Many thanks.
Great scenery, great driving, great camerawork, great audio (thanks for using no musik). One of the best enduro videos I've ever seen. Thank you, ARiemann
Just awsome! Nice one, boys. Amazing footage....on all terrains....and some great examples of what not to do. Thank you....very cool to watch....and to learn from your experience.
Thanks for putting this video together. Bloody beautiful scenery and great action footage, I enjoyed it. Top marks fellas. I was also glad to see you guys come to your senses and go around that river crossing. I've owned my Africa Twin since February and wouldnt have crossed that myself, probably even in a 4x4.
i live vicariously through your videos, man. i LOVE your work. from one moto videographer to another, please don't stop making these kinds of videos. :D
Keep the dream alive boys! I mean it. As an Aussie bloke whos been dealt a shitty hand of cards and is going through tough times, I dream of this stuff which you guys do. And you know what, thats enough to make me feel good. Keep the Dream Alive
I am new to your channel so let me just say this is an amazing stuff! Made me interested in adventure enduro riding in a few minutes and the skills you got.. Just pure entertainment to watch. Keep it comming :)
Another beautifully shot video Adam, I've got a 15 1190R and live on the NSW South Coast and would love to go for a fang if your organising one. Thanks for the inspiration mate.
Great video series and depiction of how adventure life should be on an adventure bike! Now if everyone's salary could support riding like that on a consistent basis it would be amazing!
You definitely have a gift mate, well actually two; the filming and the riding (obviously the riding took lots of work) . Great editing at the 5:20 minute with all the cameras. cheer mate. You should come to Baja, you'll do wonders filming there.
Hi! I'm a new subscriber and have just watched part 1-4. I have been riding sportbikes since mid 80's and have just sold my Suzuki GSX-R 1000 2006. I started to look for a bike to start riding with my 8 year old son and since he like orange I looked at KTM. I found 1190 Adventure R and I like it more and more the more I learn about it. I have som offroad experience but not that much. I did ride the old Africa Twin all year here in Sweden with studded tires in the winter. I think that the 1190 will allow me to keep up with my sportbike friends on the tarmack as well as allow me to explore the Swedish gravel roads and allow me to learn more about that. Perhaps even try the Trans European Trail? 😊 Thanks for a great channel! /Anders
Great episode. Love the 1190 but a bit expensive for me. Starting with the ktm 690 and see where that takes me :) That jump at the end in slow mo was epic!
i have owned mine since mid 2013 and i love it. its amazing at how well it reacts like a dirt bike, i noticed that you guys have the same problem where they are abit nose heavy on landings though, its when its airborne that you notice the weight, or when you have to pick it up lol...
Awesome Adam.. Cheers for the great videos and keep them coming.. Excellent.. Whens the 2016 adventure ride going to be ???And where more importantly??
Ah WHAT?! This is the perfect bike to do that river crossing! Its big and heavy, just whats needed. I was expecting you guys to gun it and get right across. I guess I am not getting an 1190R after all ;)
Maaaate! Been checking you out, and I'm a dead set hater of crap moto vloggers. But you actually make a bloody good dit and this one is so good I'm now subscribing. Well done.
I totally love these videos and they definitely have inspired me. I just don't understand however how it's enjoyable to ride so fast so close and to get my equipment and bike sandblasted with debris. Perhaps it's for the film as their demo bikes.
It's one of those weaknesses that you can get fixed @ KTM dealer under warranty =) But what is really nice though is the difference between your TT suspension and the standard one !
Counting down the days until I can get just a little taste of the Adventure Bike Life...not on a KTM, but on a KLR-650. I'm aiming for the 1190R but not quite yet.
I see your using some sena headsets. I get a couple a while back and they completely change riding with other people. A much more social experience with loads of laughs.

PARABENS.....SHOW......SIMPLESMENTE MAGNIFICO....
awesome video and editing!
Great riding skill, I wish I can ride like that
Seem like Australia is KTM’s heaven.
Awesome episode mate!
Nice riding very beautiful place
You need new springs on your center stand adam! the 11 20 jump shows it flopping around.
I cringed so hard when I saw it bottom out
You're right, the centre stand on Jeggo's new bike doesn't even move during that same landing. Thanks for pointing that out Nerb1
I saw that too, you have to be careful that the stand switch doesn't cut the motor on landing
Steve Pickering the centre stand doesnt have a switch
It's one of those weaknesses that you can get fixed @ KTM dealer under warranty =) But what is really nice though is the difference between your TT suspension and the standard one !
great vid, new adventure rider on the Africa Twin here from SA
Please to meet you my fellow South African. How are you finding the Africa Twin?
TheGh02t
fuckin great bike for me, bought the bottom of the range, I love it
damn, you guys were moving! great video
Counting down the days until I can get just a little taste of the Adventure Bike Life...not on a KTM, but on a KLR-650. I'm aiming for the 1190R but not quite yet.
