Had a weird dream about this last night. Couldn't remember what this was called but finally found it. Used to watch this ALL THE TIME when I was a little kid. I'm 25 now and my God, the nostalgia! Thanks for uploading this.
33 and been trying to remember what this was for ages. My mother reminded me of it. Said I was no more than 3 and had figured out how to work the vcr player to play this tape non stop at 3 am every morning. I wore out multiple copies lol
Hilarious how many of us still remember this! I'm glad I found out where "get up and go" came from...I still sing that every once in a while in the shower or when I get up haha.
I've been looking for this for the past 8 years! To see this is making me well up with tears of joy from the memories as a kid! THANK YOU! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Nostalgia overload. Almost brings a tear to my eye. I watched this so many times I lost count. Bless my mom for being so patient with me and watching it seven times a day with me.
Same. I'm 24 and I love how just watching something like this can bring back memories that I thought were all but lost. I couldn't have been more than 5 or so when I saw this.

OMG, Im about to cry, I used to watch the crap out of this VHS when i was little. Seriously, the memory overload is too much. Im so HAPPY!!!!! I even remember the words to all the songs!!!! And just about every word of the movie.
I don't know about you but for the Thomas the tank engine part: Thomas, Tootle & his caboose Katie are featured in a UA-cam fan series titled The Railways of Crotoonia.
+Keith Pixton If I was driving with with sister or my Father when there is a lot of traffic on the freeway when driving over the overpass we would still say "TRAAAAAFFIIIIIIC"... even now, 15-20 years since.
I was born 22 years ago and when I was a little boy I had this on VHS (I miss VHS) and it was one of my favorites. I think it's important as a society that we all try to recapture our childhoods. No shame in a grown man watching something from those innocent days as this world just gets darker :)
Thank you so much for uploading this. I watched this a million times as a kid...religiously. So many memories... imma show my niece this next time I see her.
One of my ultimate favorite animated movies! My parents bought this for my sister and I and we must've watched it a million times! Thank you for posting such a beautiful childhood memory of mine. Please don't ever remove this fro UA-cam, I now show it to my children! :)
Next to the land before time (first movie of coarse) and the Disney movies, this was one of my favorites as a kid. Great songs and adventure. Just loved all the characters. Heartwarming to see it again and know its part of other peoples childhood memories too.
I used to read the books all the time as a kid. I never knew a cartoon had been made from them! Each time a new character showed up, I felt a bit of my childhood flood back. Thanks so much for uploading this!
Iloved thismovie! I used to rent this video when we went to our grandmother's house in the summer time...ah so many memmories!:) Our grandmother would read the little golden books and then watch the characters on the video so cool!
Crazy this may sound, but I found this through one of those Pooh’s Adventures movies. I’ve found a strange fascination with these movies, since despite the hate, some of them try. But, I discovered Little Golden Book Land through one of them. It went under the name, “Winnie The Pooh Visits Little Golden Book Land.” The story involved a similar idea where Scuffy and his friends went to save Harbor Town, but also went along with a digimon storyline. The idea was that the Dark Masters had arrived to free a fifth member of their team, “Giant Gladiator” who was imprisoned thousands of years ago and the bolder was used as the key to his prison. After the teams team up, they encountered the Dark Masters here and there. MetalSeaDramon at the river, Puppetmon in the forest, and MachineDramon at the entrance of Cave Town. Finally, they would reach the mountain, where Piedmont would release the Giant Gladiator and he would rampage towards Little Golden Book Land. In the end, the Dark Masters are defeated, and the Giant Gladiator is evaporated by the rising sun. This would be the last movie the creator would make, as he would stop making videos for more than 13 years. And sadly, he deleted the videos after that. I made this comment to say that I only found this through those videos. Despite how strange this special is, it is a nice memory to hang onto!
Well, something like that. I don’t really remember their names, but I have it down somewhere. Whatever his name was, he was responsible for destroying MachineDramon in one breath attack after the villain revealed his true identity to the rest. So the rest of the gang called him a show-off. But yeah, there was a “fire-breathing” cat somewhere!
OMG! this is sooo awesome! i just randomly remembered a song and found this video! :D havent seen it in years man it brings back memories :) thank you!!!!!
The animated pilot was inspired by various Little Golden Books (Tawny Scrawny Lion, Scuffy the Tugboat, The Shy Little Kitten, etc) I should find some more Little Golden Books (Tootle, Tawny Scrawny Lion, Scuffy the Tugboat, etc) while online at Amazon
Ah, I remembered this yesterday; I remembered the Poky Little Puppy, a tugboat in a bathtub, and a train. Googled that and found this. I'm scared to listen to the theme--pretty sure I'll cry.
i'm 6 months pregnant with my first child & i knew i had to have this movie for her. i found it on ebay (VHS of course) and I'm going to convert it to DVD. such great memories.
One thing about this is movie (and this also applies to that old animated Little Engine that Could movie), is that when I was a small kid it seemed really long and huge. As an adult I realize it's less than 30 minutes long.
OK, couple of things: 1. Katy Caboose, SO ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! and 2. How would one respond if I told them I'm gonna make models of her and Tootle, in HO/OO Scale, Wooden, Take-Along and TOMY/Trackmaster?
This one is so familiar, though I remember seeing this but I can't remember what's this all about. O_______O My god, how long it's been! :O Thanks a TON for the upload. You, sir, rocks! :D
joetraincool That's because she's more modeled after her voice actress, Kath Soucie (Sally Acorn and N.I.C.O.LE in Sonic SatAM, Fifi Le Fume and Lil' Sneezer in Tiny Toons, Phil & Lil and their mom Betty on Rugrats and All Grown Up, Muriel Baggs on Courage the Cowardly Dog, Miriam Pataki on Hey Arnold, Dexter and DeeDee's mom on Dexter's Lab, etc.). Can't mistake that iconic moptop for nothing, you know. XD

My favorite's Tootle & Katy Caboose because of The Railways of Crotoonia.

Watching the same VHS seven times a day? That's a remarkable feat.

I think I've saw something like that. Was there a fire breathing cat that joined the team while riding in the train's cockpit?
Well, something like that.

Brings back memories
Because The Heart Breaking Harbor Rescue Debuts in 1990! 2 Say Watch Out!
I once had the original Tootle book when I was a kid.
I'd never seen the program but I did have one of those Golden Book & Tape things associated with the program.
I have not seen this in years! i watched it everyday as a kid. i found this by googling Train cartoon lion in a hammock lol
wiley: It does. Perhaps the brothers Sherman or someone else known for upbeat, catchy themes wrote the score for this special?
I loved the books, as a kid but, don't remember the videos.
you got to have get up and go
chalatchitra: It's a long movie and UA-cam only allows for 10 minutes worth of each segment, so it had to be broken up into three peices.
I have this video and it still works!
miss you mama
R.I.P
Scuffy sounds familiar. Did the person who voiced him also voice the blanket from The Brave Little Toaster?
I don't think so
