Well i don't care or know how strong or weak his grip is , but i know that his cricketing foundation is very very strong and i think he is the only player who plays all his shots by the book. A true student of the game and thats why he is such an amazing batsman.

Ab de villiers plays every damn shot in the book with more flare and ease... So does williamson...
Just that ab is enormously skillful to perform those unorthodox innovative shots outside the book to maximize the oppurtunity to score....
A man built a helicopter.... Years back...
Now innovations are done to mke it better provided basics don't change...so appreciate the innovations..
People don't do that coz they are not gifted.. There are many who played text book style...
Ab mastered the book and have his own as well but with the same basics.
Innovation is the art and creativity that depicts talent...
Ab de villiers is a master of straight drives, cover drives and pull shots.. Its just that lately he started bulldozing bowlers with innovations...

@@cricketcrackle776 in subcontinent pitches(esp the dead ones) kohli uses more bottom hand to create pace off the bat. Recently he has been not doing that in England and in Australia and in fact it was the reason he struggled in that horror tour in England. His hands used to be rigid. He used to be even more aggressive. These days he rarely plays effort strokes like he used to before. Nasser is correct but not completely. Even these days, virat plays with hard bottom hand to place the ball more squarer.. Which isn't possible with a lighter bottom hand grip....

Difference with great batsmen and ordinary batsmen is, ‘greats can alter their grip, stance, bat tapping on the ground, taking guard etc because they have that ability to self access and adapt while ordinary players don’t have that. Talking About this video, Virat May be a predominant bottom hand player but he changes his grip in just that fraction of a second before impacting the ball. Very few can do that.

thank you so much, i literally changed my grip after that video. And I struggled. I got good at power hitting only but my game got really stiff (I could not move my hands freely). I still couldn't realize what I was doing wrong, that grip is only good for straight and leg side(ish) shots. Also, another advantage is that there's more force and power in that shot since you're pushing the ball with your dominant bottomhand. But occasionally, you scoop the ball in the air.

some excellant players are poor coaches....its right..some cant coach , they can fecilitate talent( be with then), like Ricky did for Aussies mentorship and is that Pontings' Play' which helped Delhi daredevils to see the finals in Ipl..Dravid is good as a mentor..Sachin loves watching....Disclaimer: Sehwag is running a school for cricket..when nobody can replicate his style..if he does that ..we will get 100 Sehwags in future .

I think he opens his bat slightly towards offside unlike steve smith who likes to grip inside

I totally agree with what you are trying to tell.
NH was a good Batsman & a Skipper, but the analysis he is doing of Kohli's bottom hand grip is misleading.

Correct he has loose bottom hand grip so that he can play different shots for the same ball
