As long as everyone is having fun you're doing it right.
Sean is getting it and attempting to play the game in character, as is Carl. Their actions are curious and disconnected, but it appears they are thinking ahead and reacting well. The group is chaotic neutral at best, more acting evil. They need a good opponent to knock them down a bit. Right now they are simply thieving and destroying without consequence.

I had played with a group where the mage would claim anything that is magical as his loot no matter what it was he did not care if he could use it or not it was his. That was how bad it was getting and if we had played anymore the DM was fixing to send the whole party to Ravenloft due to the fact of how the others was playing and the evil acts they was committing. The whole party as a group was Evil. Individual some of their alignments was going to be evil. Some was still good mine was CG

I understand all of the above is my personal view and opinion on each person, maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm not but that's beside the point. This is what's so cool about D & D. You get a unique group of people together and you never know what situations might occur due to the diverse personalities present. Amazing work, keep it up everyone, and thanks for working so hard DMing Bill.

I’ve been playing d&d since 1978 here in the UK. (Started playing at 7 years old) Now at 47, it brings joy to my heart to see these young adventurers enjoying the game that I love and still play today. Well done Bill for doing your bit for making this game so popular again. Pure entertainment. Love the show 🇬🇧

So the group is basically the Mary Poppins version of a Murder Hobo:P
Pop in for some song and dance, try and give a little advice, and BOOM! Burn ya house down to teach you a lesson about... um... royalty is bad?.. then fly away on the winds *woosh*
My god, they're going to leave this town in economic shambles... actually that could make for an interesting and realistic backlash, cause if the Reeve wasn't paranoid before, he definitely is now! xD

You're right, especially that goofy looking guy in the fake glasses and NASA jacket. He's such a murder hobo he detracts significantly from the campaign. The first season was amazing because the kids weren't loud mouths, or arrogantly cocky. But that guy just flatlines any value the DM brings to it. The DM is pretty fucking amazing though, but he just can't compete against the huge douchery that that egotist kid brings to the table.

Textbook Chaotic neutral. Chaotic: Throw laws and societal belief to the wind. Neutral; the petty battle between good and evil is irrelevant. Do what needs to be done at the moment.

CHAOS!! I love it. Bill is a very patient DM. This is great. I COULD go the backseat DMing route and write about how Feather Fall actually works, (buncha nosey rules nerds) but things like that happen at my table as well. KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK EVERYONE! And remeber, FUN in D&D beats RULES every time!

....Sean doing that to the Reeve for...no reason, really, really made me go ???? XD But, it has been a great episode. I remember you mentioning their odd choices and stuff on feedback Friday and, well, I can see what you mean now. It's going to be interesting if they turn into an Evil party for their first Campaign.
They just TOOK AN OPORTUNITY (the rogue was not "planning to make a distraction", is just happened), and they could not know the bard will set up ANOTHER distraction with the fire...
-> Neither was trying to "punish" the Reeve for any particular reason (religious, racism, political, it looks ugly, etc); means all of this was motivated by "chaos", not proper "selfishness"
The "colaboration" with the noble barbarian and waiting for all -family members- group to get out safely together [5 people means 3 dice to spot for the crowd instead of one], means neither was "properly evil".
Carl should use his thaumaturgy cantrip for making his voice boom when he's yelling and stuff, fits well and I feel like he just doesn't know what he can do with it
Lets say (retroactively) he actually did it subconciously [hence, it was not "at full power", but his voice was "empowered"], with a bit of "infernal commanding voice" when he announced his "Toxic" performance.
I run a game for my daughter and her friends and this reminds me of how they started. Fast becoming my favorite D&D show. Love a DM who lets a game flow and errs on the side of awesome.

He probably thought it was a poison and confused it with cyanide or something else.
Kerosene is really nasty stuff, actually. If enough is ingested, death can occur within the next month. That's not mentioning the long list of horrifying symptoms the reeve would've been subject to (even just by sipping some), but you can google that yourself if you want to know.
That is a rather fantastic, yet cynical idea. It could even propel the bard and the druid into a higher socioeconomic class. Could make a rather interesting rise to power story with evil intentions.
I have yet to even play D&D and im so invested in this haha

I like this season better than the first. Cooper was bossing everyone around last time. They all work together, it's nice teamwork.

Wow...talk about beginner’s luck! First with Carl’s story that saved them from being arrested in the first episode and now with the low dice rolls so no one noticed them! 😹 Can’t wait to see what kind of Chaos they create in episode 3! Their alignments are definitely Chaotic Evil! Lol
As the waitress pulls out a fine bottle of wine offering it to the table for a stately sum of 10 gold, Maximillian clears his throat. The woman looks expectantly at the sturdy, half-naked half-orc sitting at her table.
He taps the ring on his finger. "Father... Exhilerated by adequate service." he looked at her expectantly. She stared at the ring for a moment before deciding to give it to the "lordling" for half price. Better that then to call down some warchief let alone an angry noble lord.
The usher stared at the large half-orc, trying to keep his composure. The half-orc was dressed in very fine garments but stared with a silent intensity that sent chills down his spine.
He held up a sheet of fine vellum writ with silver ink. He tapped his thick green finger on it. It proclaimed him the legitimate heir of a local lord. He had heard of this beastial man but seeing him in the flesh was something else entirely. "that is not an invitation, I'm afraid there is nothing I can do."
Maximillian reached into his pouch, extracting two gold coins holding them up. "Reciprocation." is all he said as he dropped the coins into the usher's hand.
The usher stared at the coins. It was 2 days worth of work. He reached under his table, grabbing an extra invitation "here you go my lord." he said, placing the marked tag in the large hand.
Maximillian nodded his tall head as he stepped past into the Reeve's estate.

*facepalm* you are right, I didn't think of it. Anyways, you said "that" instead of "maybe" so that's a spoiler.
It's kind of both? I think there are plans to maybe have guests and returns from season 1, but it's also going to depend on scheduling and if they'll be available also.
trodat07 he did say in his feedback Friday episode that there may be some guest appearances from the season one cast and depending on scheduling it could be a reoccurring role instead of just an appearance.

Great show! But what was said regarding the druid spell list/spell slot in the begining is not correct, at least not for the 5th edition. A druid can have an amount of spells prepered equal to its level plus its wisdom modifier. I'm not sure what Heather have for her wisdom modifier, but as long as it is more than 1, she should have at least 3 spells prepered. These prepered spells can then be changed during a long rest.
Spell slots in 5th edition is only a currency you spend to use spells. A spell slot is not filled with a spell, which I believe how it worked in previous editions. A first level druid have 2 spell slots. If Heather have a wisdom modifier of 3, she can have 4 different spells in her spell list. This means you have 4 different spells to choose from but can only cast spells twice. She is also allowed to cast the same spell twice. After that, she must finish a long rest to replenish her spell slots.
SimpleTurtle I think they're missing that the prepared spells are in addition to the cantrips. She should have 2 cantrips plus the allotment of prepared spells, so cantrips plus 4 (rather than the total of 4 including cantrips that they're using).
I've played several spell casters and have gone through many forms, re-reading the phb over and over, cantrips are not part of prepared spells because there is a separate section for them.
@@AgentS1285 Yup, they get the amount of cantrips specified by their class, then they prepare spells separately, then they can use those spells with spell slots.
Casters like druids and clerics get to prepare a number of spells after a long rest and they can pick from every spell on their spell lists, wizards can prepare a number of spells but only choose the ones they have learned so far, sorcerers and bards get to use all spells they known whenever they want (they don't prepare spells), but they can only know a limited amount and of course only cast as many spells as they have spell slots, which is the same for all magic classes.

I think Heater is thinking about how many spells she can have prepared. This total is equal to character level +Wisdom modifier, which I believe hers is +3? So she should have 4 lvl 1 spells to choose from with 2 spell slots to cast them.

Edward Mullen Yes, they need to read over the difference between prepared spells vs just plains spell slots or Heather is going to have a bad time as that Druid if she can only know prepare as many spells as her slots.
Yeah I think they're counting cantrips against the total, which is an easy mistake to make but she should have 4 other spells prepared aside from her cantrips.
I love the way Bill dms. All teams in d&d always have at least one player who's super quiet (Sean and heather). But Bill makes sure everyone gets a say in what's going on at the moment

How did they all fit out the window at the same time? Lol oh well... And I think lugging all their "loot" to a different inn should make them miss the appointment with the long hair elf 🤔 they are almost past murder hobos and crossing into munchkin territory... Almost ;-)
The half-orc could just "hung out" the window with both hands with a very easy strenght roll (after using bedsheets around his neck to "hold" the chest below his backpack, so it is touching his butt/legs); then the elf pirate and the tiefling bard climb down on him [simple roll to see if they lose grip of their own bodyweight]; then the two small humanoids hold onto his arms.
-> Only at his point [with the combined weight of all 5 plus their loot] an aditional strenght roll would be necesary (if they stay there) for the half-orc to make; but this does not need to happen since the plan of using feather fall triggers as soon as he drops.
They're not Munchkins. They just want to maximise their potentials. xD
They had a bright future in front of them as heroes, champions and masters of good and justice.

This is what happens when you play with kids whose main experience with rpgs are the games where you can steal anything not nailed down: they set things on fire, then start robbing the place. Any true D&D player knows you do those in reverse order.
RE: Heather's spells - Clerics, Druids, and Wizards in 5e have a formula for how many spells they can have memorized at any time: Level + Spellcasting Ability Modifier. So if Heather's character has a Wisdom of 16 (which I believe she does), then that's 3 + 1 = 4. Cantrips don't count against spells memorized. Spell slots is the number of spells and of what level she can cast between long rests.
I don't blame you for not knowing this, because A) it's new to 5e, and B) that information is buried in a paragraph of text, rather than set out, as with Spell Save DC and Spell Attack Modifier formulas.

An evil campaign with all new players..... good luck to you all. and Bill you got your work cut out for ya. DMing an evil campaign with experienced players can be fun,but this might be painful. love the group and the idea of teaching throw gaming keep it going.

I would suggest applying some compression or sound level normalization... I've got my volume maxed out and the audio is too dynamic. Whispers are super quiet and yelling is LOUD. I'm loving it though!

Welcome to season 2 where our heros have turn to the darkside. Apparently season 2 is going to be an evil campaign. Its a shame nobody is a cleric or paladin. I would love to see a death cleric or oath breaker paladin in action.

@@GoldNEagle92 True, but the enemies were going to sacrifice the wife and child to summon a demon. Obviously the enemies needed to be stopped & killing them is the easiest way to do so.

I feel like I should sit down with Anna (i got the two mixed up but I fixed it) and tell her that she 1) doesn't have to intimidate everyone, and that she's probably about the same level of a face as the bard, and 2) use hex, as much as possible, as long as you have a free spell slot and that you can get all your spells back on a short rest.

I've already been interested in playing D&D but I've never had the chance. Specially since I'm an OTR Truck Driver. Seeing the group of young people having so much fun makes me excited to try it if I ever do get the chance
