In this video, I’ll be taking you along on how I prepped for my husband’s birthday party. My husband is a social butterfly which made it quite difficult to invite everyone so we kept it to mostly family and neighbors. Let me know in the comments down below how you enjoyed this style of video.

Roasted Eggplant Salad:
Wrap eggplant in foil and roast over open flame until soft. Scoop out the inside and add garlic and salt. Mix until smooth.
Cabbage Salad:
Using a mandolin slicer, slice white cabbage, purple cabbage, carrot, cucumber and purple onion. Add cilantro, s/p, sugar, oil and vinegar.
Guacamole Salad:
Avocado
Cherry tomatoes
Cilantro
Garlic
Lemon juice
S/p
Pickled Cucumber salad:
With a mandolin slicer, slice cucumbers and red onion. Add S/P, sugar, vinegar and oil.
Tomato Cucumber Salad:
With a mandolin slicer, slice tomatoes cucumbers and red onion. Season with S/P, oil and vinegar. Sprinkle in greens.
Pastrami meatza Recipe:
Sauté onions, add pastrami and then some BBQ sauce and let it cook for a bit. Meanwhile, toast the pizza crust in the oven. To assemble, spread some spicy mayo on the crust, then pastrami mixture and drizzle bbq sauce and Caesar dressing. Top with arugula. Serve immediately.

I suspect that as a trained nurse and also how you have been brought up. You are 100% used to being organised in an almost superhuman military style way,and this is a compliment and not a disparagement in any way.
How on earth do you do all this. As my old professor used to say to me, " You GO girl".

I watched this video twice because I love seeing everyone having fun together. The love and friendship warmed my heart. As always, your food was incredible.
Sonya, you really know how to throw a party! A while back ago I went to a neighbors party and I was shocked to see that for 15 people they had two small bowls of store-bought hummus and one package of pita that wasn’t even cut up into pieces. Everyone at the party was asking the host can I help with anything, or do you need me to run out and buy something. It was so strange. Then for the birthday cake it was a packaged pack of 12 cupcakes. Very strange. Lol
Oyy everyone does things their own way…. Maybe something was going on that we don’t know about. What can I say.

What a lovely party Sonya, and all the food looks so good. Really makes me miss America, and having a Jewish community (I don't belong where I am now, guessing u never had that feeling?).
I just wanted to say, I love your and your husband's voices. Could listen to u both all day. I must be the only American who doesn't fawn over British accents. I honestly love New York, New Jersey & Southern USA accents the most, they comfort me (if u know who the actor Alan Rosenberg is, that's my favorite voice ever). Anyway, I need to stop blabbing. I like both styles, but really enjoy seeing more and more of the traditional cooking specially the holiday ones...my hamantaschen didn't quite turn out well, the jam I used was too wet and they didn't hold their shape well at all....looking forward to seeing a more detailed recipe from you! I'm also curious how you deal with the problems of not mixing dairy and such things, would you be able to explain it in a video?

Very nice! My question how do you get so much done with having all these small kids! This is my struggle I have 3 under 4 and they are very strong willed .. you gave me great ideas for my own husband 👍🥳
Hi Marina. For myself it comes down to organization and prioritization. I try to get the kids busy with something while I tackle the most important job first.
So in this case, when I got home, I told my big kids to get started on their summer hmwk. My younger twins I set them up with a snack and an activity. My husband took 1 shopping. So now that I have set each child up with something to keep themselves bz with I started on my most important task, which was making the salads.
Of course, I was still interrupted a million times, like we all do. I just try to redirect them as much as I can. It definitely isn’t easy to manage multiple things while having small children under foot. Knowing that children have low attention spans and need constant stimulation I try to prepare myself mentally for that so I don’t get frustrated when it happens. I learned the hard way that my children feed off of my emotions, meaning if I show my frustration by yelling, they will yell right back...
So basically by anticipating getting interrupted I try to prioritize what I need to do so that while they are engaged in a new activity I can accomplish my most important tasks first...
