Hello, thanks for your review ! i want to ask, in two years, do you still use it and how it is holding up for your ? Did you got any problems and how you protect it ? thanks !
Hi Vincent! Yes, I have and am still using the exact same mattress, without any problems. Still loving the really small pack size of it, it really is my favourite thing about it - and then the great, comfortable sleep I have on it 😊
@@HendrikMorkel Nice ! Iprefer to ask because lot of people had problems, but maybe they solve those problems with the new version. Thanks for your return ! You don't use anything under it for protection ?
@@vincentdelbarry2674 I clean my sleeping space well (away with sharp rocks, sticks, pine cones, etc.) and that’s it. Usually it is inside a bivy or on a tent floor.
If you want a bit more insulation and also to protect the super-light fabric, you could pair it up with a lightweight plastizote closed cell mat like the ones offered by Multimat. That way you're getting 3.5 R of insulation for very modest weight and all the multi-use benefits of the closed cell mat.
Thanks for this! I think I know which inflatable mat I'll be getting one it comes out. I have a klymit Insulated static v that I can use for winter if I want to at a great price but I think for summer and wanting to carry something lighter, this would be awesome! Thanks for the overview. Very timely as I have been looking at several of the mats you reviewed. I am interested in what tent you are using in this video. I looked at all of your videos and did not see a review on that tent. Thanks
Couple tips, fold your mat into a rectangle and put it along the back of your pack. Way easier than rolling. Secondly there are three options for pump sack from Thermarest including a DIY one. I made my own from the top of a pet bottle which also serves as a liner for my bag. Just make a hole that fits on the valve and then thread the cap/top of the bottle into the bottom of the trash bag.
Great review. My X-lite short broke down and got a bubble and I'm returning that one. Also with age I need a longer mattress so this was exactly what I was looking for. Almost bought the X-lite normal while I was in Breamar doing the TGO Challenge but I'm glad that I didn't now with this one out.

I bought one of these last week and went out 5 days ago with my wife on a 3 day hike. I was delighted with the size/weight . My wife slept on it the first night and I wanted to scream when I heard it. The night was still and I am sure that a couple of other hikers about 150 yds away could easily hear it also. My wife is deaf at night without her hearing aid on so she could not hear it. I used it the second night and it was comfortable enough but I am thinking of getting something else. Mine sounded completely different than the one you show. I am not show in the video.
I now have a production model and also find it fine, though I think it really depends on the person - if you’re sensitive then you might find it noisy, or then you find it fine.
Nice review. I have the Uberlite and, as an ultralight seeker, I really wanted to like it, but I find it to be so slippery on both sides. When i'm in my sleeping bag, I feel I'm about to fell from it because of that, especially when the ground it's not leveled. In this case, it's easy to end up on one side of the tent. I wonder why they haven't coated the fabric somehow, in order to avoid that. Besides that, it's kinda noisy against some fabrics. But I still like it somehow, because it's so light and small.
@@HendrikMorkel I thought about that, but I'm afraid not to ruin it. And I'm afraid no one will want it with that modification if I want to sell it in the future. I will give that a second thought, though. An XL version defies the reason I bought this sleeping mat (to be extremely lightweight).
I will be setting up for a lot of winter outings here in Northern Ontario. The temps drop to below -30C I'm looking for info on what would be a good pad / insulator that I can user on top of a tarp on the snow. Any ideas?
Hi Daniel, I’d use a Therm-A-Rest RidgeRest as the bottom layer and a Therm-A-Rest XTherm inflatable pad for those temps. Together they should provide a solid and comfortable bed, and if it gets warm you can also use them separately.

What do you think of the mat now since you first used it? Durability issues ? Also, moisture can't escape on its own, need to warm it and let it out and reinflate few times. For mold, exposing to UV light in a dark room will help control growth
Hej marko, I'm still using it on every trip since, and still am loving it. Moisture and mould have been not an issue at all as I'm using a Pumpsack to inflate the mat.
One need not inflate a pad all at once...I will put a few breaths into mine, then do something else, then put a few more breaths in, do something else, etc. This way you don't get out of breath, light-headed or exhausted from blowing into the thing constantly at altitude. As long as it's inflated by the time you want to lie down on it, easy does it.
A garbage bag might do the job. Cut a little hole in the bottom of it, turn it inside out and put the inlet of your pad through that hole. Use a rubber band to make it airtight and you're good to go. Nice video btw!
