@@MuzikJunky Until the 1990s when they wanted to play the old Carl Stalling style of following the music. But hey, we rarely have stuff, like Spongebob SquarePants and Ren and Stimpy, still reusing music.
I'm shocked that this does not have more views, this is what all the Scooby fans have pined and wished for, and for so long. The only thing there was for years were those homemade synthesizer recreations on UA-cam. Now that I'm thinking about nostalgic music and classic television, I'm gonna wish for the original background scores from The Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island, and I Dream of Jeannie. A guy can dream, LOL. I've seen videos on YT of the Gilligan music but they're just taken off actual episodes, with bits of canned laughter and sound effects in them.
I thought I was the only person that ever tried to find the production music for Scooby Doo for years. Amazing to find out that I wasn't alone and that it was a huge effort
@@jeffp3495 The funny thing is, I'm not what you'd call a real fan of "Scooby Doo, Where Are You"; I just dig cartoons from Saturday mornings in the 1970's. And music scores from TV and movies. But time has shown me that we can't underestimate the legion of Scooby fans. Generations since fall of 1969 have enjoyed the antics of the cowardly Great Dane and "those meddling kids", lol. The only thing really missing from this is the instrumental piece the gang is always dancing too in those first two seasons. Now that's something I REALLY want.
Interestingly, most of the cues here are from the two episodes from the very start of the series, ''What A Night For A Knight'', and "Mine Your Own Business"... the composer Ted Nichols wrote ''custom'' scores for these early episodes, and they started to re-use the cues for later episodes, probably due to budget limitations... It's a shame there aren't more cues released for us... Let's hope they still exist in the first place.
Thanks so much for posting this. Fond childhood memories. The scores always bought gravitas to the Hanna-Barbera cartoons of the sixties and seventies, none more so than Scooby Doo. Love the sections 3:33 up to 5:42; 15:26 to 20:00 and my personal favourites 11:40 to 12:21 and 21:52 to 22:25 . Very jazz club!

The section from about 5:36 pops up in pretty much every other episode of The Funky Phantom. They made some good use of the Scooby and Wacky Races underscores!
17:40 was always my fave when watching. I'd even count how many times it was in the episode. I think an episode of Help it's the Hair Bear Bunch had it in there, too.
there was also "the thanksgiving that almost wasn't", and you could hear it in a very brief moment during the wolf chase scene. (it's in this video at EXACTLY 6:25) ua-cam.com/video/xxuvzHSu0EU/v-deo.html it's pretty awesome that they throwback things.
I hope someday the unreleased Scott Bradley's music for Tom & Jerry sees the daylight. For many years I've been looking for clean and high quality tracks from "Cue Ball Cat" (1950) and "The Flying Cat" (1952), which wasn't released in the soundtrack disc. Cue Ball Cat is my favorite Tom & Jerry episode, and represents a turning point in my life. From that episode, I started to pay attention to music, paintings, scenography, colors... Everything. I was 3 years old in 2000.
Let’s hope for some of the Winston Sharples music too on cd-he was another animation music composer-for Total Tv cartoons and almost everything at Paramount Famous Studios-the gags in “Herman and Katnip” would even be more graphic than those in Tom and Jerry- probably the inspiration for “Itchy and Scratchy” in “The Simpsons”.
7:39 is so funny! 8:50 - where Scooby decided to have a little fun and scare Shaggy in "Mine Your Own Business" I like the songs. I just wish they wouldn't practically play on top of each other! Good job getting them, though.

Cartoons still have powerful soundtracks/scores and there's plenty of examples. Don't let your nostalgia miss you on some modern bops too!
