Fun fact: The Vancouver Winter Olympics were almost a disaster because there was almost no snow at all. So that story mode holds up

Winter Olympic games for the DS was my first game. It was so much fun, and then it ALWAYS crashed at world 5.
I could never pass it.
Leafair I get that. But this was the first time I beat a game. And I remember this damn game and hold it dear and near to my heart.
That whole year was a disaster. Not just the no snow. From Whistler to Vancouver. Prices were raised people were horrible to deal with and not to mention they pushed out all the homeless people to the lower mainland and surrounded areas. I'm just glad they haven't tried to go for another Olympics.

The Winter Olympics’ story mode is weirdly close to what happened in Vancouver. There was actually problems with Vancouver not having enough snow for the games

The DS 2010 Olympics is my favorite of the series and I'm glad he talked about the story mode.

This is the first time I’m hearing people getting bugs in their playthroughs. I’ve played through the story mode so many times and never had a single glitch.

The story of London 2012 for 3DS sounds like a watered down version of the Persona 4 plot.
It's watered down because there is no Nanako.
And no one ate dinner that night...
Yeah, but it's somewhat charming seeing the characters from both franchises interact, and all of them are reasonably well written in terms of personality. Just a shame there isn't any voice acting.

2010 Vancouver was my childhood! That game was so good!! I loved the Knuckles mini game lol I still play the game up to this day
The irony of that 2010 story mode is that Vancouver typically has the least snowy winters in all of Canada.
That being said, it's mid-June 2022 when I'm typing this, it's hot as hell in my province of Ontario right now, and BC is covered in snow. The weather in this country makes no damn sense
If I would have known that the portable versions of the Olympic games (Well, two at least) were better than their console counterparts, I would have played this series beyond the initial first entry...which I no longer have.
But hopefully the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will rekindle my interest in the series...hopefully.

Damn it Ant I took a lot of time looking for Mario and Sonic Vancouver. Gathered everything except 3 games Vancouver, Sonic Rush, and Pokemon Diamond I'm in pain right now cause of you. You touched the things in the farthest parts in my mind and gave me an overdose of nostalgia.

I remember playing the 2010 Winter DS games when I was a young kid. The nostalgia’s hitting hard.
The whole shouting mechanic was actually in the Beijing DS version too. If you yell/blow into the microphone as you throw the hammer thing, an icon will appear and it’ll go farther
I also remember an event where you had to clap beforehand to go farther, which was pretty weird (I think it was the long jump? Maybe?)
