Probably bloody hard not to see it as work at this stage. I'd say 99.95% of us on this end would rather seeing content when you guys flow than pushing projects just to keep us happy with a video every week. Shit, I'd still pay Patreon if I only saw one video a month. Cheers SF, love your work.
I can tell the "Lack of mojo." Thanks for leaving it in. Regardless of the skill level and difficulty of the project it gives inspiration to people on all levels to push forward through the difficult times of projects. It really humanizes you guys. Keep up the awesome projects and content!
Good to see the outtake of Alan having an angry moment. It makes you guys appear even more human. I love the realness and rawness of you guys. Takes me back to when i was an apprentice techy 💕
8:54 Made a custom vanity plate out of 304 stainless on the laser at work for a guy's Cadillac that said "$20 is $20." Never told him we were doing it though... He was pissed for a couple days.
Used to make my own heat shield out of aluminium sheet then put a couple of layers of muffler bandage inside and another sheet of aluminium slightly larger than the first so you could fold the edges over. Worked a treat for me, and made me feel like a genius. Well ya got to complement yourself aye!
There's a thousand c#@ts on the tubes building horseless carriages, I watch you for the lifetime of experience and knowledge sharing. Oh, and the English to English translation I have to do after every episode. I only speak murican . But I'm here for the learning! Bojangles? Looked like galoshes to me. Thanks again from forking Winscänsin
Keep it going guys, not all jobs make us happy but at least you guys make us laugh and the work on this project looks great. Your mojo will always be there AL 👍👍
Chin up Alan! Its good to see the ups and downs of custom life, most think its all fun and games. We all have slightly shit days buddy. Take care and see you next week 👍🙂
Absolutely love the content that Al, Woody, Benny, Moog, Marty, Nick, Rich, Fin, Cleetus, and Jafro put out. If you guys weren't on UA-cam it would be just another mtv-speed-channel-mashup with a cue of hard rock music and ridiculous deadlines and faked stressors instead of showing what really goes on. Superhuman and just so glib about the reality of whats going on in these builds.
This really brings you guys back down to the average joe and im really stoked you chose to leave that in. We all hit our wits end on projects, my 80 series almost beat me last week. Thanks for leaving that in and giving me the motivation to keep pushing forward with it
Not sure why you would think that. Marty and Moog have already attempted to mock it, so I don't see them mocking the beliefs of " _Turbo Yoda_ " He needs to be accepted by his peers and his peers are a pretty narrow bunch. Not sitting around discussing philosophy by candle light, drinking a nice chablis, not that, that crowd is any more enlightened or curious, or any less NPC. Just doing their part, playing their role. How can anything be truly level on curved surface? I guess you could have two arcs parallel to each other. But that isn't level. So, level to what? Do we understand the difference between an arc and a straight line? Both never able to be the other. Just wondering. Can't wait to hear this thing fire up.
I am so glad that you put the bit of anger in there, I watch most of your videos and always wonder how both of you keep your temper, and it made me feel so much better about throwing spanners at my car and wanting to crush it after I crush a finger or bash the block trying to get a nut or bolt off, cheers boys
Al and Woody you lads are very funny. Love the little snide comments you make about the dumb comments people write. Keep up making great videos, I love seeing a new video pop up on my UA-cam feed.
Mate just very happy to see the content time between videos is understandable considering what I've watched you go through so far. Never doubted that you blokes work hard for what I get to enjoy - Keep at it 💪
Just want to say, I have been watching and wanting Allan Rants since The miata build back in the old mighty car mods days and "AHHH HE'S THE TURBO YODA"! I absolutely love the content, reminds me heeps of me and my dudes here in Ontario Canada. Keep up the content, videos whenever you can. I am here for the ride not the fancy. Keep it up Boyz from Superior Subaru's in Sault Ontario Canada!
You lads are doing so much work mate. I'm not worried if you release less content. I'd prefer a once a week type thing but with less actual content each week would be all good.
I was a fitter for a while, done a bit of work on cars over the years, besides many other things. Smashing your finger in or on something then chucking an object or two and having a good swear is normal. We all do it from time to time.
This would benefit from a dual sealed catch setup, one for the clean side inlet of the taper cover (Main Air Filter > MAF > Tpiece before turbo > Catch can > Tapper Cover) then a catch can on the PCV on the other tapper cover (Taper Cover > PCV > Catch Can > Additional check valve maybe? > Inlet manifold/plenum post throttle body (vacuum), this will draw in fresh air into the engine just like a stock/OEM turbo car at idle/cruise to constantly flush the system, whereas illegal vented systems only "vent" when WOT really while damage and sludge happens at idle and cruise or pretty much all the time after the motor starts
That engine bay looks great painted black! Good work on the paint Woody! Thanks for sharing good quality content Al and Woody, it's the highlight of the week. I hope you get your mojo back from some KTM riding!
"Boyangs" or Բոյանգ or 博扬人 - a type of open end sock, popular since ages ago featuring a heavy non-elastic upper that may be pulled up and over the knee Lolooo AL is a champion in front of the camera, perfect automotive humour.
the high vis boot things are called Gaiters, in WW1 the commonwealth soldiers had a version of gaiters called puttees because nobody owned proper boots so they'd wrap cloth around their ankles and up their legs to support their ankles from rolling and to keep mud and crap from entering their shoes.
Hey guys,, Another great episode, I’ve been watching your channel for a while, and maybe I’m wrong but Al doesn’t seem his usual self in this episode, we all love cars, but sometimes you need a break👍
Don't blame it on the sunshine
Don't blame it on the moonlight
Don't blame it on the good times
Blame it on the Woody!
This comment needs more likes! 😂
Probably bloody hard not to see it as work at this stage.

Sounds like you need a little break to refresh yourselves. Much love for the content you've been putting out :)
2020 has hit us all for a 6. What i want to know Al is how have you made it this far and not flipped out like the rest of us, whats your secret mate?
Al bleeped himself out by throwing spanner what a consummate professional!!!
"20 bucks is 20 bucks" - gold
lol , i spat coffee at that one-liner
That hammer hitting the suspension bolt to in time with the music was 👌
Top shelf editing.
Good to see the outtake of Alan having an angry moment. It makes you guys appear even more human. I love the realness and rawness of you guys. Takes me back to when i was an apprentice techy 💕
MY FAVOURITE TIME OF THE WEEK ❤️
This is shaping up to be the best automotive channel on youtube. From the skills, banter and good quality video edits, can't get much better than this
Take the KTM bush and turn that frown into a smile Al, love ya work mate. this Torrie is gonna move along nicely.
No worries guys. Thanks for taking us along, its really appriciated.
You’re definitely trolling with that multigrips stud install! Haha
The utter conviction behind "You will though" :) :)
Nice to see Al is a normal human being and does normal workshop things like throw spanners!
The skid factory is definitely one of the best car shows on here fair play lads
8:54 Made a custom vanity plate out of 304 stainless on the laser at work for a guy's Cadillac that said "$20 is $20."
Never told him we were doing it though... He was pissed for a couple days.
You guys sound absolutely knackered . Cheers for all your hard work bringing us content
I’m glad woody put the throwing of the spanner and the cussing in. Made me smile I often throw tools and cus like a sailor as well lol
Thanks guys. Im really enjoying this build. Lemon squashes well earned!
The turbsky piping came out awesome. Looks sweet.
Pursuit wheels?! Back in the 80's and 90's we called them Chasers.
Had a set on my bog stock, blue smoke blowing, slow af VH commodore. Good times
In the 'States, it's "Police Interceptor wheels with dog dish or poverty hubcaps, with or without factory drilled air holes" ;)
Interceptors or ceptors in Vic
Some bush therapy is well overdue, good job lads. Coming together mint!
Al how do you know if it’s level if it never made the noise??
Spoken like a true BOM/Project Binky fan
Beeeeeeeeeeeep. I heard it

Still entertaining, no need to appologies. Thanks for making these videos. Just love your work.

I love the placement of Al's mike, making it look like the holesaw is hanging off a hook
This really brings you guys back down to the average joe and im really stoked you chose to leave that in. We all hit our wits end on projects, my 80 series almost beat me last week. Thanks for leaving that in and giving me the motivation to keep pushing forward with it
the first 16 seconds... 1,000% Skid Factory... so good.
That's a nine point five bowyangs effort guys. Top work.
I like how your cut off saw has juice channels. That is top engineering
"Make the noise!", should have accompanied the engine leveling.
Thank you gentleman! Cya next week.😎
Good to see you followed industry standard practice and checked level against the curvature of the Earth 👍😁
Al---- woody . you guys rock .the content you do is friggin amazing.all the best from Scotland.
"curvature of the earth" and there i thought that Alan was a flat earther for sure... :P
Note that the Coriolis effect was completely disregarded...
Not sure why you would think that.
Marty and Moog have already attempted to mock it, so I don't see them mocking the beliefs of " _Turbo Yoda_ "

I really love the look of the car, and it makes the whole build all the better with a 1j. Thanks for the uploads boys.
I am so glad that you put the bit of anger in there, I watch most of your videos and always wonder how both of you keep your temper, and it made me feel so much better about throwing spanners at my car and wanting to crush it after I crush a finger or bash the block trying to get a nut or bolt off, cheers boys
Gone and put all his mojo into the car hasn’t he. Looking bloody killer, and so much progress in one week! Nice work boys
Bloody Oaths Mark!, first time i seen a beer in hand @ The Skid Factory.....glad to see
Great video, very raw. As much as we love cars they can certainly kick your ass sometimes!
Al and Woody you lads are very funny. Love the little snide comments you make about the dumb comments people write.
Keep up making great videos, I love seeing a new video pop up on my UA-cam feed.
Good work boys. Thanks for pushing through the tough times .Go on woody give him a hug. Haha
You are an encyclopedia of knowledge.
That kick in the End was Awesome... Add that to the begining... Bloody Awesome
As a 1J enthusiast it's really awesome to be able to see such a professional build 🤙🏻
The work you guys do is just phenomenal. Always waiting for a new episode every week. Cheers.
honestly love your videos guys, please take a break if you feel like you need it, we will all still be here! love from Auckland NZ!
Mate just very happy to see the content time between videos is understandable considering what I've watched you go through so far.
Never doubted that you blokes work hard for what I get to enjoy - Keep at it 💪
my 1uz alternator just carked it recently. relieved to see you guys use a jaylec, thats what i got suckered into buying.

XOXOXOXO for Al, he looks like he needs it...
Working on Torana's will do that to a man, to many English bits in them and I have owned one and like them.

@@spiritlevelstudios Aye haha, yeah dunno why I spelt it like that
This is one of the best episodes in a while. Love the vibe and this project so much. Y'all made my day.
You know, there are some bracket makers in the UK whose level makes a noise. High tech stuff for sure.
Project Binky!
Make the noise
I would've thought a digital level wouldn't be accurate enough, but yeh thats what they use by the seems of it.
@@robmanueb. I've been waiting for Al to do his own grunt or something for level
That engine bay looks great painted black! Good work on the paint Woody!
Thanks for sharing good quality content Al and Woody, it's the highlight of the week. I hope you get your mojo back from some KTM riding!
Do you think these lads will build a tube chassis? Seriously it's the only thing I haven't seen them do! Master craftsman, I dip my hat to you!
Someone give that man a hug and a lemon squash - STAT!
Ceramic coating will significantly lower your exterior header temp but it will not keep nearby plastic from melting
Just like pops shop as a kid, had to always be ready to duck when those spanners went flying.
Curvature of the earth comment tickled me good !
thanks as usual for proper length videos.
Another great video there boyz. Keep it up! Really been enjoying your work.
Build montage where the camera changes on the beat makes me happy for some reason.

Thanks for all the hard work, fellas. Pursuit wheels actually translates in the us but they vary in appearance among the manufacturer.
Last week I received my SF jumper, thanks boys ! Love the channel, keep up the great work.
I love how Al is up with what the kids were saying 5 years ago

Was waiting for the spanner throwing outtake
big fan. awesome show. from South Africa.
Another great update! Just what I need after nightshift recovery
Your lack of mojo is actually a mojo. Love this show!
Definately, a shield or "barrier" is best. Air is the best insulator
THANK YOU FOR DETAIL VIDEO
Hey guys,, Another great episode, I’ve been watching your channel for a while, and maybe I’m wrong but Al doesn’t seem his usual self in this episode, we all love cars, but sometimes you need a break👍
