I’ve seen so many videos on Real vs Fake Pops and came to the conclusion that it is just too difficult to determine a fake. If it scans correctly and says Funko LLC on the foot, it’s real. Regardless of how the box looks. You can collect them for the enjoyment of it and let it go or if you just collect to flip them later, good luck driving yourself crazy trying to determine fake vs real.
years ago I got a common classic Spider-Man when it was newly released at GameStop. Looking at it now, the box doesn’t match the common box, the eyes on the box should be completely filled in, but there is an exclusive version of the pop that has a similar box to mine (seen on the funko website). The exclusive box doesn’t have an age limit either, just like mine. So I’m rlly confused. Did GameStop scam me back in the day?
Chances are....no. Gamestop gets their product directly from Funko. So I'm willing to bet that the box of that pop is going to either be a Flaw/error, or like that for every single iteration of that spiderman pop. Prime example of a common error on boxes: Super Predator. First big release of that pop was released under the name of Super predator....next wave it was under the name Assassin Predator. Same with 'Super Saiyan Rose Goku Black'. Later versions just read Super Saiyan Rose.
You even mentioned the freckles as the camera is showing 5 on his right cheek and 4 on his left right around 10:50. Good eye there, Gomez, I missed it too!
This video was in the recommendation section after I watched Dr. applesauce's video. I clicked right after watching his. Good video. They did a really good job with this fake.

I, too, just watched Dr. Applesauce’s video and followed the link he provided to this video. Thank you so much for the education you and Will provided on spotting fake Funko Pops. I can see the “sheen” differences in the box and the cut outs, but being color blind, I can’t see the “dingyness” you describe: to me, the colors look the same. But, as I mentioned, I am able to see the other differences, so thank you both!
As much as I disapprove of buying and keeping fakes, I also completely understand if you can't afford to buy a legitimate one. Like Planet Arlia Vegeta for example.
