Might have been intended as a nod to that story about Julius Caesar, when he told the pirates who captured him he would kill them after he was ransomed and they thought he was bluffing or joking... The situation made it feel a bit weird, though, seeing as he's been completely defeated by a massive organized military force rather than just captured by thugs. xD

The Aleksander is destroyed, Mengsk tries to give a speech about the seeds of the future, but Raynor as THE MAN shuts him up and Yamatoes Mengsk's ass.
The adjutant seems to be a lot more intelligent than just "beep boop. rebel command ship Hyperion has been detected. bleep bloop. over." which we got in SC2. Makes you wonder, did some sort of... _accident_ with intelligent AI happen in-between Brood War and SC2?
@@pantuternik They are! AI research is restricted in the Koprulu sector, to avoid rogue AGIs a la simulant. Adjudants are mostly based off AI tech from ATLAS, the original supercomputer that led the colonists to the Koprulu sector... So the UED has a considerable technological advance in this domain.

I dont know the story of SC1 & Brood War, but, if Raynor didn’t save Mengsk… Then in SC2, He wouldn’t have been hunted down by the dominion, because it wouldn’t have existed?
I love how the Norad III is dwarfed by the Aleksander, and then the Hyperion shows up and dwarfs the Aleksander. Mengsk has the smallest ship, DuGalle has an average sized ship, but Raynor? Raynor's the man with the biggest ship.

They do, their adjutant clearly announced it. I think Dugalle was more surprised at the fact the Protoss were there and they came to save Mengsk who was Raynor's nemesis.
Honestly, this whole ending cutscene makes so little sense in so many ways, like why is Matt here on the Hyperion after being the UED Captain in the last mission, why is Hyperion 2x as large as the Alexander and Norad, why did the Scouts destroy only 2 Wraiths and leave one, and nice "low orbit" with Korhal being out in the distance (honestly i think it would make more sense if it used the same background as the second Korhal mission in HotS). Oh, and Warfield was probably absent during the battle of Korhal so he has no right to be there.
The Hyperion was the largest battlecruiser at the time. It was Mengsk's original flagship. Warfield could have been there, we don't know what he did. As for the rest, you're right.

I have to be honest, I was expecting the Korhal Palace to appear, as it did in Canon. But of course, familiarity would be more important, and hence, it was just that Command Center. Before anyone might come here and say either that the Palace wasn't finished, or Mengsk was using a command center for the defense of Augustgrad, the Wiki has this to say: "In StarCraft: Brood War, Mengsk's palace is an ordinary command center that is the main target of both versions of the mission "Emperor's Fall." Edit: Also, just realized it now, but the Palace is too big to be placed, and is probably not a targetable structure (Only the gate is), so that could also be why
I more like to play this one with the ghost i can use vulture with spider mines and then there will no be nukes so you got full base and army at the begining
Feels aweful to see that stain of Starcraft 2 on Broodwar. Everything has gone downwards since the original -98 - the best real time strategy game to this day if one asks me. Not the least owed to the story and character building as in the original.

This was years ago, but when I played Mass Recall spider mines where unable to target cloaked units, unlike in SC1.
