These are so wonderful. I live in Sacrmento, CA where you can find blintzes nowhere. Also, when I tried to make crepes it was a disaster until I learned the science of blintze. Thank you so much.
My favorite is a cheese blintz topped with cherry preserves. I've never made them though, only the frozen cheese blintzes in the kosher section at the store. Might have to give it a try!
My two favorites are the "bagel blintz" which is cream cheese, chopped smoked salmon, chopped red onion, and capers. The other is the "russian classic" tvarog (farmers cheese will work) salt, lemon, dil, and chopped cucumber. YUM!
I stumbled onto this video. What a wonderful way to make the blintzes. My father used to make these for us on weekends. His were simple and delicious. Jamie makes it look so easy and effortless. I will be making these this weekend! Thanks!
Hi Jaime.....thanks for the lovely recipes you offer. With reference to the Blintzes....once you fill them with the cheese.....do you have to bake them in the oven ?? Thanks so much and best regards from Canada
I mix the crepe ingredients the day before. No need to strain. Also I’ll make extra crepes and stack on plate without any parchment or wax paper between. Never had a problem separating. I like the folding technique.
The lady down the street always made fruit and veggie platters of blintzes served with thinned sour cream and home made apple sauce. Those and Buster Keaton out back under the stars. One of the best memories ever. Her pan was a lot smaller than the one in your video.
@Ameerah o where are you? It's larger granule salt, in every market in the US. www.google.com/search?q=kosher+salt&client=safari&rls=en&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwijttODpM3aAhUP0lMKHWYZB14Q_AUICygC&biw=1085&bih=716
Ricotta and mascarpone with pureed yacon filling is very good. Yacon tastes like apples, but contains inulin, the same enzyme that makes pineapple safe to eat for those with diabetes.
The problem with these darn blintzes is that they are so delicious I always eat too many, as in I stuff myself and eat six in a row and then I'm like "Oh my god what have I done".
Never had a blintz, but If I were gonna make one, I think it would have to be a banana split blintz. That's right: split half a banana and lay the pieces on a blintz, add three little scoops of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream, then roll up the blintz and top with whipped cream, caramel sauce, nuts and a maraschino cherry.
Love this, Jaime! ❤ All your videos are so awesome!! I've never made blintzes, but I will now after this video. They look like our version of the crepe! 😄
Okay Jamie dahlink I hope you find this funny!!! So I can’t cook to save my life (I’m exaggerating a little bit- I can make a few things and I don’t pick up a whisk and think it’s a spatula…but if you want good food don’t come to me!!!!!) and years ago I was trying to explain to someone what a blintz is and the woman said oh that sounds like a crepe…and I said no a crepe is different this is a blintz…!!!! I’m so stupid!!!!! 😂😂
10 seconds in I subscribed… your vibe is awesome 🤩
She’s soo pretty, but I love the way she just gets down with her recipes and gets to the point and not wander off on some other story! 👍

Oooh, love these.
I’m a super picky eater, but that Russian one sounds good. Do you think it would work with cottage cheese or ricotta instead?
Beautiful food and the excellent recipes honestly you are the best Jamie cooker ever in the world ✌️🍀🌷✨💖🙏🏼

These look delicious; I personally would always fry them again after filling but I love all the creative filling ideas :)
Made ricotta yesterday to make these! And made raspberry jam last week
How do we warm it up when ready to eat?

Blintzes are,in a word, a classic.
Jamie you’re so precious!
Thank you and thanks for watching
Love it! I make the batter in my blender, so it’s easier to throw in the fridge.
Great tip!
Are you able to get the 2 cheeses (farmer's and ricotta) in Israel?
I love blintzes with very moist meat filling. Do you have any such recipe?
What can I use instead of farmers cheese?

The problem with these darn blintzes is that they are so delicious I always eat too many, as in I stuff myself and eat six in a row and then I'm like "Oh my god what have I done".

Farmers cheese is a sort of like a dry cottage cheese

Hmm, you mean to stuff the blintzes with chicken?
I'm going to try it using mascarpone cheese instead of ricotta cheese.
