Xterra LED Headlight Installation - BEAMTECH 9007

- In the midst of our LED upgrades to the rear end of the Xterra, the old LED headlights we installed a couple years back decided to fail during a monsoon storm here in Arizona. Not sure if it was a moisture/humidity issue (the old lights were IP rated against water ingress) or if it was just their time, but regardless we picked up another set off of Amazon and install them in this video. Thanks for watching!

I was gifted some sngl leds. I found that the retainer ring would not clear the set screws, they were too long. My xterra is an '06 and plastic can be a little brittle. I took the set screws out and ground them down a little using a bench grinder. The set screw now sits flush at the top before it even contacts the bulb housing now the ring slides on and off like it did with halogens.
Very helpful thank you!

thanks a lot this is a big help

How and where did you file down the ring?
Thank you for great video. I bought 2010 xterra recently and came with after market LED bulbs.
However, it looks like Lo beam only. When I switched to high beam, still Lo beam cut line.
Do you have any idea to fix it?
Thank you.
Perhaps new bulbs are needed. Thanks for watching!
@@redonKiLaus Thank you! I appreciate!
If you install upside down will your high beam be the low beam etc? Just got this same kit for my 02 xterra (also 9007) installed. But now my high beam is low beam etc. I think I just need to clock it 180* to fix this issue.
I think that could very well be the case, I've not tried them upside down but I don't believe these are shielded so that is entirely possible. Thanks for watching!
Hey, I'm trying to install there but the tab which rotates isn't large enough for this.how did you manage?
What’s the cut off zone like? Bad or alright?
It's pretty good - obviously not projector level, but comparable to how it was with the original halogen bulbs. Thanks for watching!
In this video, you stated the factory locking collar needs to be modified. But in your previous video, you stated the collar that comes on the LEDs itself needs to be modified. So which is it?
I believe I ended up doing both. I know for sure that when the first set failed and I needed to put the halogen bulbs back in temporarily, the locking collar that had been used on the LEDs was too loose (i.e. filed down). I reused that collar on the new LEDs since the unmodified, new OEM parts did not fit (too tight). Not a big issue for me and the parts are easily available, but something to keep in mind. Thanks for watching!
redonKiLaus Thanks for the reply, Merry Christmas
@@Venomenon8 Merry Christmas to you too!
Your link to the headlights is ded man - also the ring says for the left side only - how about the passenger side ring?
Looks like these particular bulbs are no longer available, unfortunately. They are still going strong for me. I believe the rings are the same on both sides if memory serves me correctly. Thanks for watching!
How are those lights holding up?
These are still going strong! Thanks for watching!
Why we need to buy locking ring if we can use the one comes on the truck
I had to modify the originals. If you ever need to switch back to halogen lamps or to another set of LEDs that fit within the original halogen profile, then you'll need new rings.
Thanks for watching!
@@redonKiLaus on your video, you didn't show how you modified the locking ring you just unscrew the ring from led then insert the locking ring
Take a look at the other video I made on the previous LED headlights I had in my Xterra - it will show you what modification I did. Thanks for watching!
@@redonKiLaus thank you. Really appreciate the quick response. Gonna check that now.
@@redonKiLaus Take a look at WHAT other video you made on this? You can't provide a fucking link? I guess I'll sit here for 20 minutes combing through your videos. Appreciate that.
Will these fit into 1st Gen Xterra's
I don't know what size bulbs the first gens have, but if not these, I'm sure something else will. Thanks for watching!
How should I file them down?
I either used a hand file or Dremel, it was so long ago I can't remember. Thanks for watching!
Are this BLIND other DRIVER'S??
I haven't had any issues with blinding anybody/getting flashed. Thanks for watching!

LEDs dont blind HIDs do blind
@@alexyoungberg5232 Neither blind when people aim their frigging lights properly. Most idiots out there don't have a clue how to do that or that it is even a thing.
